Our stay at Ennis Cottage was perfect, we could not have wished for nicer accommodation. Ron and Bernie were very welcoming and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We have a ten month old baby and they very helpfully lent us a highchair which made things much easier. We were also able to borrow toys for the beach which our baby had a wonderful time playing with. The private back garden with garden furniture was lovely to relax in at the end of a busy day. The location of the property is excellent with many attractions within an hours drive – more than we could possibly have visited within one week. There is a very helpful welcome book which includes everything to do in the surrounding area, which saved us hours searching for things to do. We could happily have spent the week on the private beach using the row boat! Oh, and the bed was super comfy!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We were delighted that the Ireland family had such a great time in our cottage. We work hard to anticipate our tenants needs and were glad that they were pleased.

Perfect for a visit with relatives in the area. Cottage is cozy and has all one could want for the week. Convenient location for catching the train to New York City, taking advantage of the beach or exploring the shoreline area and New Haven/Yale. Thank you Ron & Bernie. I won't hesitate to rent for my next trip back home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: We are always delighted when our guests feel that they have everything they need. Thanks Tricia for the positive review.

I stayed in this perfectly charming cottage last month on a visit to my hometown of Branford. It was everything I had in mind and was as ideal for me as the website suggested. The cottage is cozy, immaculate, and in mint condition. I really enjoyed my stay there. I felt quite comfortable and content with the rental and will definitely plan on staying there again in the future. Ron and his wife Bernie were also most hospitable and attentive to my needs during my stay. It is clear that they have invested a great deal in the cottage and that they tend to its maintanence and upkeep with great love and care. The property is also beautiful with grass so green and so plush that it looks like a carpet! If you are looking for the best cottage to rent in the Connecticut shoreline towns, this is it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: We are always pleased when our tenants find the cottage to their liking. We work hard to provide everything that we think they would want.

We just got back from spending a lovely week at Ennis Cottage. This was our first beach vacation with our 9 month old daughter and it was the perfect situation. The cottage was very clean and tidy; the kitchen had everything we needed and we loved spending time in our little private backyard with the grill! The beach was very easily accessed and it was lovely to meet all their wonderful neighbors. We enjoyed several of the local restaurants, especially the Tuesday night 2 for 1 lobster dinner at Lenny's Lobster Shack...not to be missed! Overall we had a lovely time and Ron and Bernadette were extremely cordial! Thanks so much! FatimaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in May for a week while we attended our son's graduation from Yale. The cottage was everything the owner had advertised - cosy, charming, and above all - immaculate. Certainly beat staying in a cookie cutter hotel room, and being approximately 50 feet from the ocean was icing on the cake.We have no futrher children gratuating from Yale, but we will be returning to the Ennis Cottage again this year and plan to explore the Connecticut shoreline and have some great meals at some wonderful Branford restaurants that were recommended by the owner last year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I was here from Florida for a month and enjoyed this cottage very much. Many rentals have photos which, when you get there, don't look anything like the place. This cottage was exactly like it was in the photos on the website.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have just spent 2 wonderful weeks in the Ennis Cottage from Oct. 4 - Oct. 18, 2008. It was wonderful! The cottage was just what we had dreamed of: comfortable and with all the modern conveniences imaginable. At the same time it was so cozy and warm pleasant, that we felt at home right away. And our hosts were just the kindest and most hospitable people! We could not have wanted a better place to spend a fall fortnight in New England. The weather, the house, the location, the kind owners were just perfect.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Retired professor and wife enjoying his grandkids, travel and being at the beach.
Why the Owner Chose Branford:
We bought in Branford because it was one half hour from our home, had a lovely beach and nice neighbors. We can go into New Haven to the theater, art galleries. Not far from the casinos and all our kids.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Love clamming, sailing on the Terviseks, swimming. Branford has many excellent restaurants, from really classy to outside patio dining in a marina. The center has a town green which has many activities through the summer, plus interestng shops and stores. We are a half hour ride to the outlet shops. And it is quiet.
