There are several residential neighborhoods in South Beach. South of Fifth (also known as SoFi) encompasses the area from the Atlantic ocean east to Biscayne Bay on the west, and from Fifth Street to the South Pointe. As of 2005, it has Miami Beach's highest property values. Although mostly residential, the area is also home to several large scale development projects and large buildings such as Portofino Tower and sister buildings such as ICON (spearheaded by designer Philippe Starck), Continuum, and Murano at Portofino. This area has several notable nightlife destinations, including Opium Garden, Privé, Nikki Beach Club, and Pearl. Ocean Drive is the easternmost street in South Beach, and stems from south of First to 15th Street, running in a north-south direction. Ocean Drive is responsible for the South Beach aesthetic that most out-of-town visitors expect. It is a popular Spring Break and tourist area, including the famous, yet predominantly local, Pearl and Nikki Beach night spots. It is also home to several prominent restaurants (including "News Cafe," "Mango's," and the MTV-popularized "Clevelander") and is the site of Gianni Versace's former ocean front mansion.
Collins Avenue runs parallel to Ocean, one block west. It is also State Road A1A. Collins is home to many historic Art Deco hotels, and several nightclubs to the north, including Mynt and Rokbar.
Espanola way which runs from Collins Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue, was conceived by N.B.T. Roney (of the Roney Plaza Hotel) in 1925 as "The Historic Spanish Village," modeled after the romantic Mediterranean villages found in France and Spain. Today it consists of art galleries, restaurants, and quirky shops. Over the past few years, its bars and restaurants have increasingly become a gathering place for the large Italian community in Miami.
Lincoln Road is a pedestrian mall now closed to traffic between Washington Avenue and Alton Road. In that area, it is lined with shops, sidewalk cafes, bars, restaurants and galleries.
South Pointe Park is a 17-acre (69,000 m2) urban park in Miami Beach, Florida in the SoFi (South of Fifth) neighborhood of South Beach. The park underwent a major renovation in 2009. Hargreaves Associates, of New York City, was hired to design and update this bayfront park at a cost of around $22 million. It also one of the largest urban parks in Miami Beach. The park has a restaurant, as well as various kids parks, dog areas, and water features. Flamingo Park is a historic neighborhood directly north of Fifth and expands from Alton Road on the west to Washington Avenue on the east, with its northern boundary being Lincoln Road; it does not include Lenox. Commercial development is largely limited to Alton Road, Washington Avenue, and Lincoln Road. This apartment is fantastic. It has everything we needed for a long weekend in Miami. It's just three blocks from the sand and a short walk to great food and fun. The apartment itself is super charming and is exactly as pictured. It's actually quite large for a studio and it accommodated two people very comfortably. In addition, the owners, Lola and her husband, were a pleasure to work with. I can't say enough good things about this apartment.

We simply loved our stay in SoBe. The condo is charming, the studio was perfect for us (we were travelling with two kids) and the location was the best (a very quiet residencial area near, I mean walking distance, of everything that matters: Ocean Drive, the best part of Collins, South Pointe, Publix grocery store, Lincoln Mall, Espanola Way, playgrounds, restaurants and the beach, of course). Lola, the owner, was fantastic (very professional and always responding our questions very quickly). We definitely recommend this cozy studio in The Fountain. Hope to come back soon.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Miami. The condo is clean and comfortable. It is located is a quiet neighborhood but close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. Owner is very good with all communication. The parking pass was a real bonus.
Recommended for:Sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed in this studio for 4 nights in March and had a great time. The studio is spacious, clean, has new appliances, and a comfortable bed. The best part is the location--it's on a quiet block, but close to everything and a short walk to the beach. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Lola, the studio's owner, is great to work with and went out of her way to accomodate us. She had to deal with a few bumps along the way with the scheduling our trip and she was patient and did a great job communicating with us. She really went out of her way to make our trip possible and even left a thoughtful welcome basket in the fridge for us.

The condo was exactly as presented by the pictures. We really enjoyed staying there on a long weekend trip. Great location, away from the noise - yet close enough to feel a part of all of the action. Everything was super clean & the building was in a nice location. We felt really safe & comfortable while we were there. We would have preferred the shower to have a curtain or door since water splashed out easily, but it was ok for our time there. A full length mirror would be nice. That being said, we would definitely stay there again & would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel alternative!

My husband and I stayed in this condo for our honeymoon in November. It was excellent! The condo was very clean, the location was great...just two blocks away from Washington Drive. And most importantly...there was parking! It is very large for a studio condo, and we didn't feel cramped at all. Lola was excellent to work with. Very responsive to e-mails and gave us tons of suggestions of things to do in the area. My only complaint is the noise. It seemed like the walls were a little thin, and we could hear people in the condos next to us. Overall, it was a great stay. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay in this condo again.

Lola, You have a fabulous apt.. and we appreciated that it was so clean... My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in April/2010 for 12 nights. Your apt's location is perfect and it has a lot of character. Nice and quiet too yet close to all great restaurants and to Ocean Drive.. We have nothing but great things to say about your place. We just had a girls trip to Miami, 4 of us, and we had such a great stay here. The condo is very modern, clean, and very comfortable. It's also only a few blocks away from the beach and many restaurants. The only downside, was that there was construction going on so one of the mornings you could hear them working, but we were mostly out and about so it wasn't that big a deal, however would have been nice to know about that. My only suggestion would be maybe to add a full length mirror (hard for 4 girls to get ready at once :) ) and maybe some extra beach towels, since it does accomodate 4 people. Other than that, Lola was professional in dealing with and very responsive to all our questions. I would definitely stay there again if I were coming back to Miami. Thanks for everything!!!!

I did not know that it was going on yet. Sorry again! I will definitely take in consideration your comments about extra beach towels and the full length mirror.
