Located on an acre of woods, from this cottage you can hear the waves of Lake Michigan as well as listen to the wind through the trees. Read on the balcony or on our screened in porch. A 1 minute ride or a 5 minute walk gets you to two private beaches which are never crowded. The beaches have a sand bar about 20 feet from shore and there is a gradual slope into the water making the beach ideal for children.
The beaches are wide, sandy and often remind people of the Caribbean. The water is clear and clean. This cottage provides the best of beach life without the noise of lakefront living. Our cottage is comfortable and invites relaxation. We have a toy room in the basement with lots of toys in case a rainy day occurs. Our guests often say they have never slept better because of the quiet surroundings.
Bridgman is a two hour ride from Chicago.

- Two private Lake Michigan beaches are available to our renters. They are less than 10 minute walk away, or under a 5 minute drive. Beautiful, clean sand beaches. Gentle slope into the water makes the beaches great for young children. (This varies somewhat year to year depending on the natural changes in the lakeshore.) Even during the height of the season these beaches are not crowded. Think Private Beach on gorgeous fresh water lake... friends compare these beaches to the Carribean and marvel that they aren't more famous.

We spent the last week of July 2011 here. We brought our 5 kids ages 6-16. I would highly recommend this property. The house itself is very commodious, clean and accomodating - much bigger than the photos suggest. The private beach and surrounds are all wonderful - even the short walk to the beach is enjoyable. Hardly anyone else was on the beach, especially on weekdays. The owners are very pleasant to do business with and returned our deposit in a timely fashion. The listing accurately decribes the accomodations. We did tap into the movie selections. The toys in the basement are for children under 5 years of age. We did not get a chance to visit Warren Dunes State Park which is nearby - but preferred to relax on the private beach. We did take a day trip to Chicago. If you want to see southwest Michigan this is the place to stay.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

A wonderful retreat from it all....a combination os woods,sand dunes and lake and those sunsets are great. The place itself is spacious, clean and easy to entertain in with kitchen area,dining area and lovely porch.A real treasure.

Our stay at Whispering Winds was relaxing and wonderful. House well equipped and comfortable. The beach is beautiful. Shallow water to the sand bar is great for kids. Hardly any people, so we had the beach to ourselves, mostly.

We have children and the beach is wonderful...the house has a play room in the basement and one afternoon when it was rainy the kids played and played. We had a great family vacation...but I thought how nice and quiet it was and how my husband and I would love to be there by ourselves. This home is a home and everyone of us just relaxed and enjoyed.
