The Vineyard Estate is a 4500 square foot luxury home with a private gated entrance, on 5 acres, right in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country. The estate comfortably sleeps 14, with six bedrooms [master has a king, three bedrooms have queens, one bedroom has two fulls, one bedroom has one full, and there is a queen sleeper in the separate sitting room with the large screen TV], and four bathrooms. The weekly rental rate includes all taxes, and we have a minimum rental fee of $4950 during high season, April-October. If the Vineyard Estate is not rented 30 days prior to your arrival, we are happy to rent it to you by the night during high season. [Just email owner to check availability 30 days prior to your arrival, for rentals under the one week minimum]. Off season, Nov 1 through March 30, presents an excellent value (see rates below). Our weekly rentals are Sunday to Sunday during high season. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years' weeks are at the High Season Rate. Two night minimum year round.We are NOT licensed for weddings, but we welcome you to STAY with us, and have your wedding at the adjoining wineries, Cline Cellars Vineyards or Gloria Ferrar Champagne Caves, or Jacuzzi Winery, or nearby Sonoma Mission Inn. If your wedding or reception is for 35 people or less, you MAY rent this Villa for your event, for an additional fee.

The estate has spectacular vineyard views. Just 40 minutes from San Francisco, and five minutes from downtown Sonoma Plaza, the Black Sterling Vineyard Estate is nestled in between Gloria Ferrar Champagne Caves and Cline Cellars Vineyard. There is a big Jacuzzi with Bose stereo system, and brand new 15 X 30 heated swimming pool, and lots of space for outside dining and entertaining, two dining room tables that seat six each, and this five-acre property has over one acre of chardonnay grapes planted right on the property! The estate has spectacular vineyard views from nearly every window, and there is a working Friesian horse ranch on the property, so you also have views of big, black, bold Friesian horses grazing in the pastures!

High Season is April 1 through October 31st - weekly rental only, tax included - see rates below.
Nightly rentals (with 2 nite min) are available year round if Estate is not rented 30 days prior to your arrival.
Low Season is November 1 through March 31. Weekly and Weekend rentals available, and Nightly rentals are available on weekdays.
Pool is Open Year Round, Solar Heated June 1 through October 1. Heated Jacuzzi Open Year Round.
Weekly rentals are Sunday to Sunday only, April 1-Nov 1.
Two night minimum year round.

- The Black Sterling Vineyard Estate is located on a working Friesian Ranch, thus big, black, beautiful, and majestic Friesian horses are viewed through the estate's windows. The exquisite horses, imported from Europe, have a nearby private Mediterranean barn and nearby pastures and arena. The Friesian stable is privately owned by the owner of the Villa, and not open to the public. Guests may schedule private riding lessons aboard our imported friesian horses, with the on-site dressage trainer. Lessons available on our friesian horses, only $60 per hour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Sterling Vineyard Estate, and Black Sterling Villa. The pictures don't do the homes justice, they are even nicer than we anticipated. The floor plans were ideal for our family --and we are already planning a possible annual reunion at one of the homes---we didn't want to leave! I sure got a kick out of seeing your horse, "Sterling" wandering around the property, seemingly "owning the place". What a fabulous setting. We never grew tired of the views, and the location is just ideal for a myriad of activities for family members, of all ages. This home is clean, well appointed, comes with a well stocked kitchen and clean linens and towels. We thoroughly enjoyed our week , thanks in part to our marvelous and relaxing stay at the Villa. We even hired a chef to come in one night and cook us all dinner---- a simple luxury we would highly recommend to other groups/families!! This is a home we WILL return to!

Just wanted to write and thank you for a wonderful weekend---what a great place for us to have our annual "girls weekend". Not only was your description accurate, amenities included everything we needed, the home was clean,property well manicured, and in a perfect location for our jaunts to the napa and sonoma wineries and restaurants, we also appreciated your exceptional customer service including prompt response to our emails and phone calls! We had 14 girls-----one suggestion for future renters, when splitting the cost with a group, we would recommend the people utilizing the 5 largest bedrooms pay a little more than the person [or couple] using the sleeper sofa, or the smaller bedroom off the master bath. We had a fabulous brunch at Black Bear Diner, and appreciated your suggestion on the personal chef, John Ferris, who came in our first nite and cooked a scrumptious meal---made even better by the fact that none of us had to cook or clean up!! The Best Place I Have Ever Stayed in Sonoma

This property is ideal for all ages. The house is on an amazing propery and has a ton of living space. There were activities for my children -- the house came stocked with children's books and toys, and there was even a playhouse in the backyard. My kids loved heading down to the onsite stables and feeding the horses!! For the adults, we were minutes away from great wineries and there was a pool and a jacuzzi in the backyard along with a gas bbque that we used every day. There was a huge kitchen which was stocked with everything you would need to cook (and drink your wine!) We could enjoy meals at the large dining room table with our family and friends and the kids could run around the backyard and swim at the pool. The house is set amongst vinyards and horse stables and it's only ten minutes from the main town. You feel like you are spending the week in your own exclusive wine country estate!! I would highly recommend this house to anyone and everyone looking for a great place to stay in Sonoma. We will definitely be heading back.

My family, consisting of 11 adults and six children (all under ten years old) used this home and its companion home for a week long reunion in July. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The property was clean, obviously well maintained and beautifully appointed. We had everything we needed including a very well equipped kitched. We were able to move in and immediately feel right at home. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the hot tub and the older children had a great time horseback riding. They also enjoyed their morning ritual of feeding the horses carrots. The location was great and we enjoyed Sonoma and its environs. The town square was a plus for the children and we enjoyed meals at the Girl and the Fig and Della Santina. We stayed mostly in the local area, but did venture as far away as Bodega Bay. With six kids in tow, we didn't make as many wineries as we would have liked, but we made a bunch. Going in shifts seemed to work for us. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. It was a pleasure to meet them and we look forward to staying at their vineyard again.

i rented both the Black Sterling Villa, and the sister property next door, the Black Sterling Vineyard Estate, for a week in the summer, 2008, for our familly reunion, and we thoroughly enjoyed out stay, both in wine country, and at both of these vacation rental homes. The views, the interior decorating and furnishings, the ambience, the area, the incredible friesian horses that my kid's had riding lessons on, the proximity to Sonoma square just 5 minutes away, as well as the incredible wineries nearby [Viansa Winery was our hands down favorite]--everything made for a memorable week in Sonoma Wine Country!!! We loved hanging out in the heated pools--the slide at the Villa pool was a hit with the teenagers. This was a family reunion we are not soon to forget, and the Black Sterling properties were IDEAL for us. The owners were very hospitable, and answered any questions promptly, and returned emails immediately. The homes EXCEEDED our expectations, and we rent vacation homes every year. We highly recommend the Black Sterling Villa and Vineyard Estate
