Owner's Map of Mobridge

Gregg & Marsha Hubner are South Dakota born and raised, growing up in the farming and ranching business, and always enjoying the outdoors. Today Gregg continues his career in real estate, including auctions, appraisals and real estate sales. Marsha is a devoted wife/mother/grandmother and together we raised our four children (3 are still in South Dakota). She enjoys music and leads several Ladies Bible Studies each year. We team up in the spring and fall to do some farming, which we also enjoy. Our oldest son Jesse, and his wife Jaimie are the caretakers of Blue Blanket Creek Lodge. Our greatest reward from owning the lodge since 2006 is getting feedback through e mails and letters of successful walleye fishing and pheasant or deer hunting from people many states away that probably only have that one opportunity a year to enjoy the outdoors in this way. We truly understand that everybody doesn't want to spend the money it takes to stay at a full service lodge and hunt pen raised pheasants and be bussed around and told when to shoot and when to sit. At BBCL you have the freedom of being on your own schedule and making your own memories. It must be working, as we have had the same groups coming back every year since 2006. Give us a try sometime.

"Gregg, My wife and I returned home to Seattle last night...we had a great time at your lodge! It’s a beautiful place and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We extend our compliments to you and your wife (and whoever else was involved) for decorating it in such an inviting and tasteful way. Every detail was carefully thought of, right down to the night light covers! It’s truly a beautiful place. The pheasant hunting was spectacular...I had not trouble getting a limit each day. The birds were pretty jumpy in some areas since the cold and snow has them flocked up in such large numbers. It was fun, though, to see such large numbers of birds, even if they were jumping out of range. On several occasions, I kicked up 25 or more pheasants at a time. That’s something that we just don’t have in the State of Washington. We have pheasant hunting, but a full day of work might put up 3 or 4 roosters. I spotted that many from the deck of your cabin! Thanks again, and we look forward to returning next year. Are you taking reservations yet? We would be interested in dates in late October or early November. Please let me know. Best Regards, . . . . . Cary"

We had a great time and everyone is looking forward to coming out again next year once if not twice. We are definately looking at the same weekend in august as well as a possible weekend in june. I will contact you in the spring to set something up. If you start to fill up those months please let me know. Fishing was tough the first day but great the second and third. All in all a great time at a top notch lodge. Thanks, . . . . . Mike"

Arkansas (2011) . . . . "Our group has hunted together for over 15 years in Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. Mobridge, by far, has been our favorite destination. The combination of beautiful scenery, great bird hunting and your lodge have made it our favorite stop. We hope to continue our annual trip to Mobridge for many years to come." . . . . .
