“Welcome home” to Wallace House, a vacation rental suite located between Victoria and Sidney in beautiful Saanichton. Perfectly located, we are only 10 minutes away from the famous Butchart Gardens, Victoria International airport, the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, and the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. Victoria is an easy 20 minute drive away. Sidney is even closer, a 10 minute drive. Wallace House is situated on over half an acre. Although we are in the country, we are an easy walk to a major grocery store, banks, restaurants, coffee shops and all other amenities. We are adjacent to walking and bicycling routes and trails. We have views across the farm land to the ocean, Gulf Islands and Mount Baker. Our guests can walk to a local beach in about 20 minutes.
Our vacation suite has over 1,100 square feet of comfortable living, suitable for couples or families, up to four people. We supply kitchen appliances and utensils for all your cooking needs, including coffee and tea. Initial breakfast makings are provided. Laundry facilities are also available. There is no smoking on the premises.

Why the Owner Chose Victoria
We love the country location and ocean views on our half-acre rural property. We enjoy all the walking trails and bike routes in the area and can walk to the beach in about 20 minutes. We have arbutus and Douglas Fir trees, with rabbits, eagles, quail and deer spotted regularly. We have feeders for the hummingbirds, and see lots of other species as well.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our guests can easily walk to Saanichton Village for groceries, restaurants and other amenities. Our suite is very large with 2 bedrooms, a private entrance and off-road parking. There is a private lawn with patio set to enjoy the view and gardens.
World-famous Butchart Gardens is an easy 12-minute drive from our suite.
Our village has all services, such as a major grocery store, banks, coffee shops, drug store, post office, diners and a historic pub. This village is an easy 15-minute stroll from our suite.
A lovely town of coffee shops, book stores, great restaurants and a beautiful walkway along the ocean. Whale watching boats leave from the main pier and there is passenger ferry to Sidney Island.
A great sandy beach with spectacular views of James Island, Darcy Island and Mount Baker.
A great day trip on the passenger ferry from the Sidney Pier. The Spit goes out about a mile and is super for a walk and picnic. The Island has great walking trails and camping spots.
A beautiful park among large old-growth forest, with trails and a river.

Your hosts, Kirk and Gloria, moved here from the Vancouver area in 2006 to retire. We are really enjoying the laid-back Island life. We have been married for 31 years and our children live in Victoria. We enjoy walking on the local trails and Kirk has bicycled all over the Peninsula.

We have stayed in numerous vacation suites (VRBO) and have to admit that they all pale in comparison to Wallace House. The clean and spacious apartment is like having a home away from home.........only better. Gloria and Kirk's hospitality and knowledge of the area makes everything seem so easy. Their willingness to accommodate us in every way was beyond comparison. The attention to detail (local maps, The Wallace House information guide) is excellent. Everything from the Hot Tub to the best equipped kitchen we have ever seen, simply makes this a place we will definitely return to. All we can say is Thank-You Gloria and Kirk!!!!!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our stay at Wallace House was most enjoyable. Gloria was extremely helpful without being invasive. The little details from condiments in the fridge to the fresh cut flowers on the dining room table made our stay so special. This is much better than a cramped hotel room. As we were visiting our son who moved to Victoria last December, we wanted to make a home cooked meal. The kitchen is roomy with lots of counter space to work. We also enjoyed playing cards around the dining room table. I would highly recommend a stay at Wallace House.

We loved staying at Wallace House! The suite was large, very clean and extremely quiet. The hosts were very helpful and had lots of suggestions for siteseeing. Sidney was beautiful, and we enjoyed strolling down Beacon Avenue and poking in the shops. The hot tub was perfect for the end of a busy day.
