Our vacation home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac just a short walk or golf cart ride to the community's private oceanfront beach access/parking - about half way between the Garden City and Surfside Beach Piers and walking distance to the beachfront Conch Cafe.

Nearly everything you need:
Our beach house is fully furnished with all of the comforts of home: microwave, blender, ice maker, speakers for your ipod, you name it ... the only thing you will need to bring is your swim suit, flip flops, bed linens, bath and beach towels.
Use of our personal golf cart is included in the rental, but drivers must be at least 21-years old with a valid driver's license and are liable for any damage. The golf cart is not allowed outside Oceanside Village!
Outside shower:
A roomy private outside shower is located at ground level for your convenience to remove the salt and sand when returning from the beach....or for a refreshing cool-down after a round of golf. There's a second stairway down from the deck for easy access to the shower and storage area.
Parking:
Driveway is 51 feet long, partially uncovered and partially under the house easily accommodating two cars one behind the other. Parking is NOT allowed on the street/cul-de-sac or on adjacent properties in Oceanside Village.
Some Details:
12% state and county sales and accommodations taxes are charged on all vacation rentals. A $200 security deposit and signed agreement is required to hold a reservation. Deposit is returned within 2 weeks after visit if everything is left clean and with no damage. Smoking is not permitted on the property or in the house. Golf car drivers must be at least 21 years of age with valid drivers license and are liable for any damage. No house parties or renters under the age of 25.

Oceanside Village:
Our beach house is located in the 100+ acre gated community of Oceanside Village with roaming security and the perfect vacation environment - from stocked fishing ponds to indoor and outdoor swimming pools & play ground - not to mention the beach. Oceanside Village includes private oceanfront access, daily and weekly golf cart rentals, an 18-hole Par 3 golf course, a driving range, a miniature golf course and an oceanfront restaurant - The Conch Cafe. Oceanside Village is located between Hwy 17 South and the beach on the south side of the entire length of Melody Lane between Garden City Beach and Surfside Beach, South Carolina.
Local tips:
Enjoy Garden City Beach treats just minutes away like the famous "Sam's" for 24/7 eats, the Arcade for kids of course, the "Yum Yum Shop" for ice cream, or take a stroll on the wonderful fishing pier. The Gulfstream, one of the best local seafood restaurants around, is just minutes down the beach in Garden City and the superb beach-front Conch Cafe is just steps from the house.
World famous Murrell's Inlet is also only a short drive away with sumptuous restaurants - from casual and grungy to quite formal for seafood, pizza, Thai, steaks, rack of lamb, oyster feasts, you name it (try Nance's, Flo's Place and Devine's) - and several great seafood markets (Harrelson's or Murrells Inlet Seafood Market) if you are the chef - not to mention fishing trips and boat rentals.
You can choose to simply walk or ride a bike around the corner and across the street to the beach or if you prefer, you can load up in our personal Carolina Blue golf cart and head to the private beach-front beach-access reserved for Oceanside Village residents and guests.

We've been visiting Surfside Beach and Oceanside Village for years and finally decided we just had to have our own place. The property is arranged, maintained, decorated and furnished to meet our own demanding requirements because it is our place at the beach - so we know you'll not be disappointed. When we aren't using the property ourselves, we offer it to vacationers that enjoy an affordable but quality stay at the beach - just like we do.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love being able to walk to the wonderful wide beach, sitting on the deck for breakfast or sipping a drink as the sun goes down. Listening to the wind in the trees and the sound of the surf from our front yard, the hammock or deck is just wonderful. We had a great time here. The property actually peresently surprised us when we arrived. We saw it online but when we opened the door and walked around I was amazed at what a Gem this house is... Just can't beat the area. Beach is clean and not packed. Right amount of activites and amenities. The kids loved the use of the playgrounds ,pools and being chauffered in the golf cart. We can't wait to go back next year.

We had a most enjoyable months stay in Feb 2011 at the Wilkies beach house at oceanside Village. We drove from Ottawa , arrived a day early, asked if we could occupy, no problem at all. The house was in impeccable order , beautifully clean and equipped better than any place we had rented in 50 years !! Every thing one could wish for to ensure a comfortable stay was there The only thing missing was a teapot and we rapidly remedied that and left it for next time !! Everything worked the equipment was all the very best , it was just as if we had furnished it for our personal use . One has to recall that it is the Wilkies own seaside vacation house and it shows.their excellent taste and artistic talents We would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Kingfisher Nest to family and friends who want a quiert and peaceful location very close to the beautiful Carolina Beaches. The Golf cart was most useful in getting us to the parking lot on the beach ,saving our energy for strolling there . We are both in our very late 80,s and need a little help sometimes.!! In passing , the Conch Cafe opened whilst we were there and is an excellent place for a meal or a drink . We certainly hope to go back again to Kingfisher for a further visit.

My family and I absolutely adored the Wilkie beach house! We are a family of 4 and the house had plenty of space. We didn't even use the third bedroom. It is so close to the ocean that you can feel the breeze from the balcony. Our girls, ages 7 and 3, loved the golf cart. At around 9 every night we would take a ride around Oceanside Village and our 3 year old drifted off to sleep everytime. Oceanside Village is a wonderful, quiet neighborhood that is perfect for family. We enjoyed the people there so much. We laugh because it reminded my husband and I of the show "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood." At times, we had to stop in the street to allow the ducks to cross. The pictures that the owner provides depicts the house perfectly. It was crisp and clean and provided us with everything we needed for our stay. We chose to eat breakfast at the house each morning and went out for dinner each night. This alone would save a ton of money. We would certainly recommend this home to anyone looking to have a relaxing family vacation!

My family and I have been staying in Ocean Side Village for more than 20 years. This home is by far the nicest one-with so many extras! This year we stayed for 2 weeks and didn't even miss our own home. It is nicely decorated and has many ammenities that add comfort to your stay. This was our second visit to this vacation home, and it will be at the top of my list next year when vacation planning rolls around again!

The house was exactly as the listing described. We were at the water's edge after a 4 minute leasurely walk although we usually loaded up the included golf cart with beach chairs and umbrellas and were there even sooner. The house was clean and the kitchen well-stocked with items we needed to prepare breakfast and lunch. Having the house raised up provides a little privacy on the large deck, which was nice to relax on. And the trees provided a little shade and breeze which was especially nice at night after a long day at the beach and after golf. And we absolutely loved the location! Oceanside Village is large enough that just riding around in the golf cart was fun for my younger daughter and a great way to have a little downtime. The management even provided free ice cream from a freezer cart on Monday afternoon by one of the pools. Being right in the middle of the Surfside Beach pier and the Garden city pier was great as we walked to both of them on different nights for dinner. Murrells Inlet was a quick drive for dinner one night, and we also took some time to head up to Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach so we could compare the areas for a future trip. Without a doubt, all 4 members of our family agreed that Surfside Beach was the place for us. And as we headed home on Saturday, we all agreed that this would be the house to return to for future trips. I looked at many houses in Oceanside Village and asked the owners several questions before booking this property. The owners of "Kingfisher Nest" were prompt in the responses and provided additional pictures as well as helpful hints about the area. We loved our week at the beach and hope to return to this same house in the future!

We had a wonderful week in your beach house. It was quiet, beautiful and most importantly, CLEAN!! We absolutely loved everything...spacious, nice furniture and decoraitons, new and comfortable beds, nice kitchen...We loved sitting out on the porch and our son loved riding on the golf cart.
