Location: Northwood Beach House is a spacious three bedroom, three bath river-front home in one of the area's finest locations: Northwood. The front of the house faces the second fairway of the Northwood Golf Course, with beautiful views of the redwood-studded greens. Northwood Restaurant and Mama's coffee shop are within walking distance. Downtown Monte Rio, with public beach, boat rentals, markets, dining, and movie theater is a few minutes to the west. Guerneville's attractions are less than five minutes east.
House: Beautifully furnished and architecturally exciting, Northwood Beach House (~2540sf) sleeps eight and offers wonderful spaces, with great views of forest and river, for gathering in style and comfort. Head up the stairs to the living/dining room at the front of the house. The living/dining room has leather seating, a gracious dining table with seating for eight, and a small deck overlooking the second fairway of the golf course.
Down the hall from the living room, the family room is centered around a wood stove and TV, with comfortable upholstered couches and a breakfast table seating four surrounded by windows with river view. Sliding glass doors open to a deck with outdoor dining, charcoal BBQ and hot tub for eight. There are stairs from the deck to the rear yard and the path to the river. The family room is open to the kitchen which has bar seating for two and a host of amenities to make cooking for a crowd easy. The bathroom on this floor is a full bath with combination tub/shower.
From the living/dining room, stairs lead to an upper level with an office area featuring desk, high-speed Internet access & view of the golf course, along with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedroom facing the golf course is a master bedroom with a four poster queen bed, private deck, and a large bathroom with tub/shower. The bedroom facing the river has a queen bed and access to the back deck. A hallway bathroom boasts dual sinks, with separate area for the toilet and shower/bath. The third bedroom is a large master suite located downstairs from the entry and includes a king bed, a large sitting area with a couch and views of the golf course, a mini-kitchen area with small refrigerator, sink, microwave and coffee maker. The large bathroom has dual sinks and a separate area for the toilet and shower/bath. There is access to the lower deck with the spa from this master suite. There are two floor futons for additional sleeping.
Grounds: This home has the best of two worlds, golf on one side and the river on the other. The rear yard is sloped down to the river. A path from the side of the house leads down to the riverbank to a small beach offering easy river access for swimming and launching the canoe and kayaks. This particular river access varies from year to year, but there is a always a small beach area and no more than two feet drop into the river. There is usually a larger beach a couple of houses to the left; all the beach areas are public access as long as you access them close to the river.
