Great Familiy Get-Away
Great Familiy Get-Away
This is the 3rd time I have rented this beautiful home, but the first time I have written a review (shame on me for not sharing my feedback before). It is spotless and the over the last few years, the owners have updated with new family room furniture and carpeting, added a flat screen (or two). I couldn't think of one thing we forgot that wasn't already there for us to use. We are a group of familiy and friends who look so forward to getting away to veg, which included alot of food, wine, laughs and just plain relaxation. If you are looking for a great home, lovingly taken care of, tastefully decorated that has plenty of bedrooms, huge deck(s), a hot tub, this is the place to stay. You won't regret it. I have already booked our next long weekend get-away in September 2014.

What a wonderful stay we all had at your home! Everyone is ready to visit again in the near future. Thanks for sending Brian over to help with things. He was so helpful and is truly a very lovely person. Your neighbors were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, as were we...so the dock was alive with very happy people. Three visitors came by...2 basset hounds and a golden retriever. They stayed awhile, giving us lots of licks and entertaining our granddaughters... and then traveled back across the ravine and home. They were friendly and quite a riot and we all enjoyed their visit. Needless to say, the week went by too quickly!!!! There were some very hot days and the two bedrooms on the upper level across from the master bedroom could have used a portable air conditioner...but we survived and it was much cooler down by the lake!!!! Our 3 and 4 year old grand daughters loved going for their first ever boat ride and entertained us by their reactions to the s'mores we made by the campfire. Everyone loved gathering in the evening on the brown reclining sofas and chairs and just being together. Thanks again for the opportunity of experiencing your home and all the beautiful surroundings!!! Shelley and Mike, Craig and Atsmon, Brad and Dana and Olivia and Ayanna

This place exceeded our expectations. My husband and I traveled from Sydney Australia and instead of driving all around to see family, they came to us in this large family haven along the lake. It was private and the great room keep us close without making us feel cramped (we have 9 of us, 7 adults and 2 children). My Mom and Dad really enjoyed having a private bathroom off the master bedroom. There was enough room for us to all sit around the table for meals and the kitchen was modern, clean and well-equipped. We had warm weather, took a swim in the not-to-cold water (for June) and paddled the 2-seater Kayak in the sparkling lake. There were fun activities inside with ping pong and air hockey and card games (we brought our own) happening through out the house. The deck is spacious and we enjoyed a cook-out on the grill. The beds were so clean and comfortable, everyone got fantastic and restful sleep and we enjoyed the nice laundry room that helped us get caught up on the clothes that piled up in our suitcases from our 3-week trip in the United States. We had stunning views and considered the climb up and down the stairs to the lake to be our work-out sessions (so no gym trips required)! I would for sure try to book this place again!

I still have the sunrise coming through the windows in my mind. Our stay was made the more comfortable by the available cooking ingredients, such as the spices. But dinners in Canandaigus were excellent, and desserts from Monica's Pies in Naples made our experience just wonderful for our family.

Our group of women have been getting together annually for 18 years now. We have stayed in several locales over that time and we unanimously agreed that this was the best yet! The house is spacious and well-appointed. Everything was as presented in listing, and it was very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent - it provided privacy and relaxation but was still close enough to shopping and restaurants. If the owners will have us, we are hoping to return again, next year!

Great view, spacious home, everything was good. This is very nice home. Nothing high-end elegant, but everything is very nice, operational, clean and homey. Strongly recommend this as a great place to stay. MANY steps down to the dock, a possible negative for some in the summer.

Awesome property for a couples retreat!
Awesome property for a couples retreat!
This was our second trip to the Finger Lakes, and we decided that we would enjoy the weekend with friends tasting wine, sampling the local fare and enjoying each other's company. We had been searching for a house to accommodate the four couples comfortably, and by chance we stumbled upon this property. We were very skeptical at first, but trusted the reviews and pictures of the property. I must say that as we entered the property, we were very relieved to find the property extremely clean and cozy with outstanding views of beautiful Lake Canadaigua. The property owners were very hospitable with suggestions of hiking trails, grocery stores and restaurants. The property had everything that you could imagine for a weekend or an extended stay. Our only problem was that we didn't plan a long enough stay. We arrived on Friday and departed on Sunday. We will certainly be back and will plan the extra day! For the record, I am a frequent traveler who can appreciate the value of a clean property and an accommodating host. My job takes me to remote places in the world, and I have been often disappointed during these travels. I can honestly say that we were 100% satisfied with the property, and would recommend the property to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway. We enjoyed the wineries along Lake Keuka and Seneca, and had a fantastic meal at Casa de Pasta in Canadaigua. We wished we would have saved more time to hike the trails at Hi Tor and Watkins Glen. But, there's always next time!

Wonderful Girls Weekend Location!
Wonderful Girls Weekend Location!
Our party of 7 girls were blown away with these lakefront accomodations, exactly as described on this page... but better! The house is amazing with up to date furniture and a large dining table for a great family dinner. We loved the wall of books available to read and the great sound system throughout the house and on the deck. We were delighted that the owners had thought of everything we might need for the weekend (paper products, wood, all kitchen supplies, water in the water cooler, tips listed on the fridge, you name it!) Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake/kayaking more - however the chilly weather made a perfect excuse for a bonfire! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this house, we would absolutely recommend it to our family and friends!

We had a party of 10 people staying at this spacious & immaculate property and we were never in each others way. It was spectacular!! Better than what the pictures show. We had all of the amenities available, i.e. BBQ, utensils, paper products. We enjoyed the house, deck and the lake. Down by the dock we enjoyed kyacking & row boating and we even rented a boat and spent the day cruising the lake. Spectacular! The owners are wonderful and easy to reach, they provided us with all the instructions we needed. We would definitely rent this property again.

Our group has just enjoyed a fabulous "Big Chill" escape weekend at this wonderful property. The home, furnishings, setting, and views are all spectacular. I agree with a previous commenter that the property is even better than in the photos. It was so well-appointed that all we had to bring was our food and beverages. The owner was great to work with, accommodating, and very prompt with responses. We will rent this property again.

Why the Owner Chose Canandaigua:
I have been enjoying living on the finger lakes for the past 25 years. I bought my first vacation home on Cayuga Lake in 1988. Each of the lakes is unique and will appeal to a wide variety of renters. I love boating (motor and sail) and swimming. My children grew up on these lakes and we continue to enjoy the great family reunions we have every year.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our property is quite private and perfect to enjoy a family getaway but is also large enough to accommodate reunions or small weddings. The waterfront is beautiful and is perfect for boating, swimming, or just relaxing. The firepit is a nice place to enjoy the evenings and there are no mosquitoes! The hot tub is perfect for any time with a view down to the lake.
