Me and my wife had a wonderful honeymoon here. So I guess we were true honeymoon hikers! Haha We hiked the Johnny horn trail right from the cottage all the way to Annaberg and had a nice little snorkel. It was so peaceful and quiet, just the soothing sound of the tree frogs. Every morning we would wake to see the beautiful colors of the sunrise over this amazing view while still laying in bed. Also, have to mention the shower, which is beautiful and was very romantic showering under the full moon. Wish we could go back soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My boyfriend and I stayed here and had a blast! We're avid kayakers and hikers but until our first trip to St John, we were snorkel virgins... This cool "off-the-grid" place is way up a dirt/rocky road and a bit of wild-ride but if you've got 4wheel drive and a sense of adventure you'll definitely dig it (even though it borders the National Park, it's just 10 min to the store/bar). The stunning view (even from the bed) is of Hurricane Hole and it's definitely God's Country: awesome beauty and serenity. We had a couple of donkeys drop by (and lots of geckos) to say Hi which was fun. When we weren't snorkeling (saw a gorgeous huge turtle first time out!); our favorite places were Hawksnest Beach for a picnic; Skinny Leg's for music & drinkie-poos; Ram's Head for a hike (bring a camera & ALOT of water); Cinnamon Bay for swimming and Aqua Bistro for Dinner. Groceries are rather expensive on St John and we ended up eating out alot more than we had expected. Only other complaint is woulda, coulda, shoulda stayed 2 weeks! Spent most of our time out and about exploring the island, but the "Island-Time" we did spend at Honeymoon Hikers Cottage (clean, cozy and exotic btw) and St John was pure magic...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Just returned from our St.John vacation at honeymoon cottage. Unbelievable experience being in the outskirts of National Park. We had a great time walking into coral bay, our favorite place was skinny legs. The cottage was clean and new, the views were beautiful! Laying in bed over looking the water was quiet peaceful surroundings. Wish we could spend our life there! Going back soon! -Carrie and PhilRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+.

A beautiful view of the full moon lit Coral Bay from the deck. Quiet throughout the day and night. No lighting to interfere with the star filled sky. Just a very peaceful setting. Property was well kept, photos are a true reflection of the property. Colorful and delightful owner. Highly recommend this Hideaway...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners.

We started out our stay on St John at Maho Bay Camps and I wish we had stayed there! The owner was off island so we had a difficult time finding the cottage and the road up to it was quite difficult - impossible without four wheel! But we managed, but you wouldn't want to do it often!! King sized sheets on a queen sized bed, hot tub not working, no beach towels and other towels not nice! Very nice views and sunrises from bedroom however! Ok furniture, but worn!! Kitchen good, but we ate out every evening. property was clean upon arrival.. We did enjoy the donkey visits! And someone used our outdoor shower when we were away which did not leave us feeling very good! I would not recommend this property.Owner response: elaine your review was very unfair.rental agreement reads 4 wheel drive due to most roads being dirt roads.plus final pymt.30 days before arrival and check in at 3pm. and we would meet you in coralbay..you ignored all above.it was not fair that you where up set that we needed cash. checks take 2 weeks to clear here.looking for your rental on your own 10am you will get lost.No 4 wheel drive hassel when the roads are wet. no final dep.or security dep.before arrival not right. we need cash we let the security dep.go for you due to you making a big issue out of paying cash.the shower will look like someone used it after it rains.most of our guests are repeat.

No regrets on this place, it was absolutely amazing! Clean, peaceful, owner was great, and the views were unbelievable. My friends told me to be careful finding a place in St. John cause a lot if them are pretty sketchy, but this was amazing....I told all my friends about it. If you're planning a vacation there this is the place to stay. The owner is easy to get along with and obviously cares about her properties. Best of all, the price is right! Cant wait to go back next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

what an amazing place to stay. Clean, private, gorgeous with the most most amazing views! The owner of the property is great and easy to work with. It was easy to get to everything, when we wanted to leave. It was so easy to just stay right at the villa, but always fun to cruise around and check everything out. All in all, it was great and we are looking forward to hopefully coming back next year. If its available!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

One of the best vacations I have ever been on. I took my girlfriend there for our 1 year anniversary and it was just amazing. The villa is fun, romantic, and relaxing. The owner was one of the easiest people to work with and really made the experience that much better. Since it was a surprise for my gf, Nancy even helped me plan a few romantic activities. It was just great. The property was clean, had a good vibe, and the views were just amazing, words cannot express the excellence of this place. 5 stars for sure and we're already talking about going next year. Thanks Nancy!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This was one of the most amazing vacations I have ever been on and I have to give most of the credit to the place we stayed. Honeymoon Hikers Inn was the most romantic place my boyfriend and I have ever been together. A great place to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. Its a relief to meet property owner who still cares about the place itself, not just the money. It was clean, beautifully furnished, and the views were to die for. We liked it so much that we extended out stay, sadly Honeymoon Hikers was booked, but we got to stay in the owners other property, Mimosa, for the next few nights, which was just as amazing. I highly recommend this spot, for couples, families, or just friends on vacation. I have already booked both places for next year's vacation.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

One of the best vacations I have ever had and it's all because of the location. I have never rented such a nice place, especially for the price! It is so nice to finally meet a property owner that really cares about and puts so much time into her property. The place was clean, comfortable, and best of all...affordable! I go to St. John just about every year and will only event from her now. I recommend it for everyone, whether a family trip or romantic get away. St. John itself if gorgeous too of course and with the views we got from the house we got to enjoy it very minute we were there.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
