PEBBLE BEACH is a one of a kind, 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath, stone and masonry home with spa located in a spectacular, natural setting with 370 feet of private waterfront. Stunning wraparound views of distant mountains and turquoise seas greet you as you enter the house. Pathways and terraces surround the house and wind through colorful flowering plants, wild orchids and tropical landscaping.
A private stairway leads from the house to an absolutely private beach. A second pocket pebble beach is accessible by swimming, a secret hideaway perfect for honeymooners or lovers. Both beaches consist of pebbles over sand, are well protected and calm, offering excellent snorkeling, swimming, or clothing optional sunbathing.
Elk and brain coral, colorful queen angelfish, parrot fish, puffers, sergeant majors and schools of other tropical fish provide a natural aquarium around the house. Another beach and more excellent snorkeling are a 5 minute walk away at Haulover Bay.
Large screened sliding glass doors provide stunning 270 degree views of sparkling bays and green mountains and allow the constant tradewinds to keep the house cool.
Relax in the living room, on the deck or in the hammock and watch the pelicans dive, the fish jump or the turtles surface in the brilliantly clear, 80 degree waters below you. Watch the wind play on the water, yachts sail by and spectacular sunsets as you relax in the spa with after a full day of snorkeling or exploring. The kitchen is a cook's dream with spacious counter, a pantry and water views on three sides.
The spacious master bedroom with a king and a single bed opens to its own deck for sunrise viewing and private sunbathing. Stairs off the deck lead to the beach. A large tiled 2 sink bathroom with tub and shower joins the master bedroom.
The second master bedroom with king has a private entrance, a private deck ideal for sunset and water views and a large 2 sink bathroom with enclosed garden shower.
The third bedroom and fresh air bath is down one flight of stairs from the main floor and can be prepared as two twin or a king. This is our second stay at Pebble Cove. We truly love the house and the location. One of the BEST places on the Island,- A location that you can chill, swim, or hang out in the hammock, on your own little beach area. The landscape, the beach, the peaceful scene, lovely house. The owners are great to work with . Thanks to them, and their lovely home. I just want to thank you for an amazing week!! This place was far above our expectations!! We loved every bit of it!! I don't think the pictures catch just how beautiful and amazing your house really is. I love how private it is. So quite and peacful and yet the sound of the waves and the birds are splendid!! The layout of the house is so nice because it gives you so much space between all of us yet we had plenty of room on the main level to be all together. And the views from every room... LOVED THEM!! The snorkling off our beach was the greatest. We swam with turtles a couple of times right out our back door. How could we ask for more? This is a DREAM VACATION!! I can't wait to get back!! I can't say enough great things about the location and the villa!! I've been at some wonderful places in my life, but I would stay here time and time again. Thanks for everything!! This is out third year and it definitely feels like home, our Caribbean home! We never left Pebble Cove except for Francis Bay, Haulover, and Hansen Bay. The East End is our thing. Giant turtles, sting rays, squid all kinds of fish and even the interloper, “The Lion Fish”. We saw and photographed it all. Thank you so much for sharing what I know is a special place with us. Allen + Linda, We had a great time here at Pebble Cove. Loved the snorkeling, especially around here off the beach and house is the best!! Sunsets on the patio were great. Spent time at Lucy’s and Skinny Legs, and found great fish: mahi, tuna, lobster, and grouper to cook on the grill. Don’t want to go home yet… Thank you! Allen and Linda, We had a wonderful time these few days in St.John and loved your house at Pebble Beach! What a beautiful view, beautiful landscape, beautiful water, beautiful weather!! "We'll begin with the end, a perfect rainbow this morning from the hillside on South Haulover Bay to the waters of Round Bay off the corner of the deck. That simplistic beauty and perfection speaks for our 10 days here at Pebble Cove. For the lucky ones that follow us, here are some of our favorite things....Snorkeling: South Haulover Bay was the best, a great variety of fish including the sea turtle, the filefish, the stoplight parrotfish and the triggerfish. Sounds: The soft surf and the birds. Sights: The Milky Way and the stars, cruise ships on the horizon, the water and shooting stars. Pebble Cove is beautiful and magical. We have vacationed a lot in the tropics, about 14 weeks over many years in the Caribbean, Hawaii and Tahiti. This week at Pebble has been our BEST! We really appreciate your house and how well it is equipped, the hot tub, the deck and the privacy. We had all our meals at Pebble. We had the best view and food here so why go out? As we awake on the morning of our final day at Pebble Cove, we try to paint a permanent picture in our minds and hearts of all the beauty surrounding us. Watching the sunrise, the water sparkle here, is the nearest thing to heaven on earth. Our children had the vacation of a lifetime and sharing St. John with them was so special. The snorkeling here was the best and the kids were so excited every time they come out of the water. They saw their first sea turtles, sting rays and beautiful fish. Linda and Allen, Please accept our deepest appreciation for the opportunity to rent your beautiful villa. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time; and of course the weather was amazing. The Villa was as we remembered it and hope that in a few years we can visit again. We visited Sloop Jones and I could not leave without one of his fabulous pieces of clothing. Skinny Legs will always be one of our favorite places but we also had dinner at Aqua and Bistro and Island Blues (both were great). Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: After sailing the seas for years we wanted to settle down and raise a family so we were looking for a home that would not take us far from the sea that we love. Pebble Cove seemed to fit the bill perfectly. It is as close to living on a boat as we could find while living on land. We have enjoyed Pebble Cove as our special place for many years. We currently reside on Gift Hill, a short walk from the high school to give our daughters easy access and near our other rental home, Cloud Nine. This allows us to share Pebble Cove with our many repeat guests who return year after year.
Why the Owner Chose East End:
We found Pebble Cove for sale as we drove in the beautiful community of East End and it looked like a small property from the road. We were blown away when we walked through the front door into foyer of native stone and a panorama of ocean view and mountains through the archway. We later got married under that same archway. In our wildest dreams we had never imagined owning such a piece of paradise but we knew immediately that we must work out a way.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
In our way of thinking a pebble beach is preferable to a sand beach because, as snorkelers and divers, we look for the teeming colorful tropical sea life that is found on and near coral reefs. Sand beaches in contrast have very little visible life as the sand continually moves and keeps the coral from growing. At Pebble Cove we found the endless aquarium that we love and in a protective bay that allows comfortable swimming all year round, unlike the North Shore where winter swells stir up the water and surf. We also love the quiet and privacy that this East End home offers.
