Green Certified New Beach Home on Private North Captiva

Year Purchased: 2008

Why the Owner Chose North Captiva Island

We have been coming to North Captiva for years and always dreamed of owning our own beach house on the island. North Capitva is an ideal place to spend a long weekend or up to a week or two that is still close to home. The advantages of North Captiva include 1. No crowds 2. Full-time EMS and Fire on Island (just in case) 3. No cars (quiet) 4. Plenty of wildlife 5. Miles of pristine beaches 6. Airport 7. Excellent club ammenties

The Unique Benefits at this House

Our island home is great if you are okay without the sound of cars, and crowds of people. A busy day on the beach might have 10 people. Fishing, boating, shelling, hanging out at the pool is what makes up a typical day. If the weather is bad, there is plenty to keep occupied in the home. High speed wireless internet, DVR's on the TV's and an XBOX keeps everyone happy.

Beach access point

This is beach access point that we use the most often, It is nearby, and with the airport next to it it can be interesting to see the planes take off and land. Great place to fish on an outgoing tide

B
East end of the runway-Dolphin Nursery

It is very common to see pods of dolphins playing and learning in these protected waters. Excellent fishing spot as well, and a great place to go for a swim if the Gulf is rough.

C
Barnacle Phils

A great place to eat. They also have ice cream, a gift store, and live bait. It can get busy at lunch time on weekends

This is where the ferry lands. Guest services will meet you here, assign you a golf cart, and guest services will deliver your luggage and groceries. Dining, Tiki Bar, two pools, hot tub, tennis, ka

E
"rocky point" beach

This is what we call this far southern beach. Not a ton of beach here due to erosion, but bordering on the stte park. A great place to swim, and also start a walk through the state park, or on the b

Interesting restaurant that is on a dock "over the water". Great food.

    • Although we live only a 3 hour drive away, we felt as though we were in a different world. Our time in 'North Cap'(as the locals refer to it) was fantastic. Mojo Rising was a dream come true. Joe and Molly have spared nothing in making their home "truly" a home away from home. Their home is roomy, comfortable, cozy, and professionally decorated with all the amenities one would wish for and more. It exceeded our expectations. Everything that we needed was right there and the beach house was exactly as described and pictured. There is so much to do on North Cap: exploring the island via golf cart, bicycle, or on foot; witnessing and appreciating magnificent sunrises and sunsets from any of the four balconies/ porches; kayaking along the intracoastal waterway; experiencing the uncrowded, sandy beaches and gulf waters; enjoying either of the two swimming pools or the whirlpool spa. This year's vacation was the best vacation ever for us. We plan to return to North Cap again and hope that Mojo Rising is available for our stay on North Captiva Island. William and Ann Davis

    • MOJO RISING Without a doubt, our stay at Mojo Rising was "The Best" Florida vacation we have ever had. We have been visiting Florida during the summer for many years and continuously searching for the best place to get away. When our kids were younger, we blended in with the tourists, large crowds, long lines and traffic in Pensacola Beach and Destin areas. Eating at a local restaurant in Pensacola was often a 3-hour event and required a lot of advance planning with a family of five. We were ready for something quieter and more remote. This year we found North Captiva Island. Wow, what a treat! My advice to any future guests would be that you are about to discover a great get away known as North Captiva and its unspoiled beaches with no bridge connection to the mainland. If you are looking for fast entertainment, go to Destin. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet vacation, you are at the right place. We enjoyed the "no cars" since we live in the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area. Since we arrived during the off season, we often had the entire beach to ourselves --- seriously. It was better than a Corona beer commercial! We never dreamed it would be so isolated, remote and quiet. To help curb cost, we had prepared a menu for the week and packed our luggage up to 50 lbs with non-perishable food items since there were limited restaurants on the island. It worked. The rest of the groceries were purchased at a local grocery store called Publix on the mainland. We had some of the best grilled salmon ever at this beach house. (salmon filets, fresh rosemary, olive oil, salt and pepper on aluminum foil over the grill). For some reason the food tasted better that week. Each day, we returned from the beach and felt like we were in our home. The furnishings were very comfortable, updated and with good taste. The views of the sunsets and sunrises were awesome from any balcony since this beach house is one of the tallest on the island. Don't miss the observation deck on the fourth level. Go up at night to see stars that you normally don't see in the city. You will be amazed. The best part was driving around daily in the golf cart discovering new things as a family. We collected many unusual shells and even a few plants. We saw dolphins ever day near the runway and always stopped and looked. We also got to see the night blooming Cerus or moon plant which only last for a few hours. It was a great memory for all of us. Again, thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. If any future guests wish to contact us, feel free. We look forward to returning soon. If you are ever in Texas, look us up. Take care, Jim and Kathy Robertson 4029 Dendron Flower Mound, TX 75028 214.725.6285
