ABOUT THE LOFT
Completed in August of 2008, our Loft was designed and created for those of you looking for the ultimate getaway. Here you can relax in privacy surrounded by up-scale amenities, great water and mountain views, natural surroundings and comfort. The Loft offers you a private, intimate atmosphere in which to relax and unwind.
We decorated The Loft using warm, vibrant and inviting colors. Natural slate, granite, tile and solid cherry woodwork serve to enhance the overall effect.
Situated overlooking Sequim Bay at approx. 450 ft. elevation, The Loft offers a panoramic view of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. It is approximately 600 square feet in size and is the second story of a new building set well away from the main house on our five acres of wonderful view property. The outside setting is fabulous with a forest of evergreens, a wonderful private patio and hot tub with stunning water views.
To give you a feel of what you will experience at The Loft...upon arrival the sidewalk leads you around to a gated entrance and onto your private patio and hot tub area. These are for your exclusive use and enjoyment. Relax in the comfortable patio furniture while you BBQ, read, or simply soak in the sun and the wonderful water views!
You will enjoy the pleasing ambiance of trees, water and solitude. Beyond the patio and landscaped yard, and on the hills behind are tall evergreens that extend up to high peaks within Olympic National Park. It is not uncommon to have eagles flying overhead, deer in the lower grassy areas and visits from bunnies.
THE STORY...
We originally envisioned building this space for our family and friends to use while visiting, then as the project progressed we decided to share it with guests such as yourself. Building it ourselves, We incorporated everything we could think of to make The Loft a wonderful place to share time with your special someone. Speaking of which...one of our favorite features of The Loft is the gas fireplace. We spent many hours designing it and Kemp spent many hours building it! Surrounded with natural slate tiles it has a handmade mantle of solid cherry and provides a cozy, warm atmosphere.

Great care is taken to ensure that your stay at The Loft is comfortable, relaxed and leaves you feeling that you can't wait to return! The accomodations are impeccably cleaned before each guest arrives and if there is anything we can do to enhance your stay, please let us know; we are pleased to assist you with special requests or needs.
We are in a gated community comprised of all five-acre properties. Ours is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and is the last of only three homes situated at the top of the development.
The Loft is a ten minute drive from downtown Sequim.
PLEASE NOTE: Though we have a garage and storage/shop area for our
personal use on the first floor of the building,
they are never accessed while we are hosting guests in The Loft.

- Cooking Utensils Provided: Plenty of dishes, barware, utensils, etc. Foil, plastic wrap, plastic storage bags, napkins, paper towels, salt and pepper.
- Refrigerator: 4.2 cu ft with small freezer compartment. A larger fridge downstairs is available on request.
- Microwave: This is also a convection oven, for baking, roasting, etc.
- Catering Available: Through local providers; we are happy to recommend some for your consideration.

- See the "Bay" from the bay! We are happy to arrange a customized day boat excursion in our beautifully outfitted, crewed, 36' sundeck motoryacht. Cruise the bay, enjoy lunch on the sundeck, sip wine while sitting on the bow (see pictures below)! No better way to enjoy a sunny day on the water! Rates vary depending on itinerary, but generally $100.00 per hour, two hour minimum.

Why the Owner Chose Sequim
Sequim has long been known as a wonderful retirement spot. We chose to buy here because of the small town size (but growing), the fact that it's only a couple hours from Seattle, has a great marina (the John Wayne Marina)to suit our boating needs, and the fact that Sequim gets very little rain compared to the rest of this side of Washington state.

There really is not one spot on this land that doesn't have a view. Whether it mountains, forested hills, ever-changing water views of Sequim Bay and the shipping lanes beyond, or the San Juan Islands. No one ever comes here without exclaiming about our view. Even people who have lived in this area all their lives are amazed.

We bought our "retirement" property in Sequim the day after we first saw it in 1999. I had found it listed on the internet and when we arrived to check it out, we just couldn't leave. We decided to spend the night in town and come back the next day to see if it still had the same affect on us. It did. The sunsets of summer here are gorgeous; purple and gold and red...and on that day the sunset was spectacular. So when we came back the next day with a picnic lunch we knew had to own this land.
We ended up moving here full time much sooner than we had originally anticipated but everything happens for a reason, right? It has turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made.
Our daughter graduates from Sequim High this year and is headed off to college in Oregon. That leaves just us and our other girl, Hannah. Hannah is a lively yellow lab who just loves visitors!

Cheri & Kemp, From the moment we walked into this perfectly romantic Loft we just felt as if it all was too magical. I was bummed when we had to leave to go do the tourist activities as I [would] much rather have spent it drinking wine in the hottub enjoying my husbands' company and enjoying mother nature first hand. Although it has not been the best weather, The Loft has provided us with everything that we need to enjoy ourselves inside! Everything that is provided is so personable and over the top. It truly did feel like home away from home. I will be saying good things about you all and we will be back to enjoy this truly breathtaking, once in a lifetime opportunity. We loved the Dupuis Restaurant that you recommended as that was truly a "losing touch with reality" feel, it truly was unique and romantic.
