ABOUT THE LOFT
Completed in August of 2008, our Loft was designed and created for those of you looking for the ultimate getaway. Here you can relax in privacy surrounded by up-scale amenities, great water and mountain views, natural surroundings and comfort. TheLoft offers you a private, intimate atmosphere in which to relax and unwind.
We decorated TheLoft using warm, vibrant and inviting colors. Natural slate, granite, tile and solid cherry woodwork serve to enhance the overall effect.
Situated overlooking Sequim Bay at approx. 450 ft. elevation, The Loft offers a panoramic view of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. It is approximately 600 square feet in size and is the second story of a new building set well away from the main house on our five acres of wonderful, rural view property. The outside setting is fabulous with a forest of evergreens, a wonderful private patio and hot tub with stunning water views.
To give you a feel of what you will experience at The Loft...upon arrival the sidewalk leads you around to a gated entrance and onto your private patio and hot tub area. These are for your exclusive use and enjoyment. Relax in the comfortable patio furniture while you BBQ, read, or simply soak in the sun and the wonderful views!
You will enjoy the pleasing ambiance of trees, water and solitude. Beyond the patio and landscaped yard, and on the hills behind are tall evergreens that extend up to high peaks within Olympic National Park. It is not uncommon to have eagles flying overhead, deer in the lower grassy areas and visits from bunnies.
THE STORY...
We originally envisioned building this space for our family and friends to use while visiting, then, as the project progressed we decided to share it with guests such as you. Building it ourselves, we incorporated everything we could think of to make TheLoft a wonderful place to share time with your special someone. Speaking of which...one of our favorite features in The Loft is the gas fireplace. We spent hours designing it and Kemp spent many hours building it! Surrounded with natural slate tiles it has a hand crafted mantle of solid cherry and helps to provide a cozy, warm atmosphere.

Great care is taken to ensure that your stay at TheLoft is comfortable, relaxed and leaves you feeling that you can't wait to return! We are in a gated community comprised of all five-acre properties. Ours is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and is the last of only three homes situated at the top of the development.
TheLoft is a ten minute drive from downtown Sequim.
PLEASE NOTE: Though we have a garage and storage/shop area for our use on the first floor of the building,they are never accessed while we are hosting guests in The Loft.

Rates vary depending on itinerary, but generally $100.00 per hour, two hour minimum.

Why the Owner Chose Sequim
Sequim has long been known as a wonderful retirement spot. We chose to buy here because of the small town size (but growing), the fact that it's only a couple hours from Seattle, has a great marina (the John Wayne Marina)to suit our boating needs, and the fact that Sequim gets very little rain compared to the rest of this side of Washington state.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio
There really is not one spot on this land that doesn't have a view. Whether it mountains, forested hills, ever-changing water views of Sequim Bay and the shipping lanes beyond, or the San Juan Islands. No one ever comes here without exclaiming about our view. Even people who have lived in this area all their lives are amazed.

We bought our "retirement" property in Sequim the day after we first saw it in 1999. I had found it listed on the internet and when we arrived to check it out, we just couldn't leave. We decided to spend the night in town and come back the next day to see if it still had the same affect on us. It did. The sunsets of summer here are gorgeous; purple and gold and red...and on that day the sunset was spectacular. So when we came back the next day with a picnic lunch we knew had to own this land.
We ended up moving here full time much sooner than we had originally anticipated but everything happens for a reason, right? It has turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made.
Our daughter attends Washington State University and just completed her freshman year. You will surely meet Hannah, our friendly yellow lab during your visit.

This place was ideal. We were in a perfect spot for all there is to see in the area. The scenery is ahh inspiring. The 'loft' has all anyone would need and more.....comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, kitchenette, balcony to overlook the bay, hot tub and wonderful patio area with a gas grill. The owners were very helpful with what to see and do and very gracious overall. A high-end rental, pristine condition. Just make sure you ask right away for the pass code to use the internet, you need one. Overall this was an excellent property and would recommend it to any couple.

We had the good fortune to stay at The Loft for 5 nights last week. The view, amenities, and comfort were "spot on"! We're already talking about when we can return--we want to use the fabulous fireplace next time! They have thought of EVERYTHING!!!!!

Fantastic! The pictures in the listing are wonderful, but the place itself was simply fantastic. Our stay exceeded our expectations in every respect. Cheri and Kemp, the owners, have created a perfect place to completely relax. They are two very thoughtful people and were very helpful to us during our stay. The recommendations provided in the welcome binder aided us in planning some of our most memorable excursions. Spectacular views, Quiet, private and well equipped. Thanks for sharing your "Loft" hide-a-way. What a wonderful way to start our 2 and a half week vacation of the Pacific Northwest. My husband planned this trip 11 months ago, he loves to suprise me about where we are staying...This is one of the BEST!! As many have said before me, nothing has not been thought of. If I could dream up a "special, romantic place" this would be it. All the attention to detail from the beautiful landscape to the incredibly, soft sheets! We ate at the Hwy 101 diner, cute 50's atmosphere and the food was home style good. We did some hiking,Sol Duc, Switchbacks, and a little of Dungeness Spit. We visited Olivers Lavendar Farm-Beautiful! We also went to Port Townsend. Everything we did was quite enjoyable. We had a lovely encounter while on the balcony with a hummingbird. Life here at The Loft is GOOD!
