Thank you Beverly for sharing your mountain retreat with us. The view to the lake was amazing and the drive to the property was easy. Very close to the town of Grand Lake but also away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoy playing the games that were provided and there were ample supplies to make our stay comfortable and fun. The cabin was exactly what we wanted and made our stay perfect. Thank you!!!

Cabin was as described. It is rustic so do not expect more than what you see in the pictures. The kitchen is galley style with ample dishes, cooking utensils, pans etc. No dishwasher unless you want to hook up to the kitchen sink the old one in place which has directions on how to do this. The bedrooms were clean and well decorated. The bathroom was well stocked with towels. The family room was enormous with plenty of games and things to do. The huge fireplace was the center point. We purchased wood in town to keep it going for our stay. Loved it. All in all this was a great place for us to celebrate Thanksgiving and unwind. Peaceful, quiet, and just what we were looking for. This would be a great place in the summer with all there is to do here. Beverly was a great host and we appreciated the hospitality.

Owner response: Renters do love the large woodburning fireplace. The portable dishwasher is a newer one with an Energy Star rating. It rolls easily and simply hooks up to the sink for dishwashing. All the renters we have had have enjoyed the rustic nature of our cabin combined with our views and location--easy to get to all year round. We are thankful for our cabin and our renters and so glad to share it with them!
Great vacation getaway!
Great vacation getaway!
We had a wonderful week at the cabin, found many thoughtfully added extras to make the stay perfectly enjoyable. Cabin is in a great location to make a Grand County and RMNP visit just "grand". Must do is a pontoon boat on Lake Granby and Gran Lake. Also recommend the horseback riding at Winding River Resort, they have excellent wranglers! We saw eight moose in RMNP, a record for us! Thanks, Bev, for sharing this wonderful cabin with my family!

Thank you for sharing your great mountain home with us. It was quiet and perfect for our family get together. We loved the east access to Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake. Your place was so much more appropriate for us than more commercial rental properties. We have happy memories. Columbus, Ohio

We loved the cabin and enjoyed our week stay. Grand Lake was cold! The cabin stayed warm and dry. The "great room" was perfect for our mini family reunion. Winter was an invitation to ski, snowshoe and tromp in the snow! Thanks again!

Thank you soo much for letting us stay up here! It was so awesome! Everyone enjoyed themselves and had loads of fun! It was just a blast! We had a wonderful time and the cabin had plenty of room for all nine (4 adults 5 young children)of us. We didn't see any moose around the cabin but did see some elk and three hawks that were hanging around that were pretty neat. We also caught the peak of the meteor showers which was an awesome show. Thanks again!

About the owner: Beverly is a retired Elementary School teacher. She taught Vocal Music, Kdgn, 3rd grade and Elementary Science. She is a nature enthusiast and is especially trying to help save the critically endangered Eatern Pacific Leatherback Sea Turtles. Craig is a small business owner. Both Craig and Beverly take pleasure knowing visiting families are reconnecting when they get together and enjoy their wonderful real mountain lake log cabin. They have 4 grown children and 2 grand-dogs, one big one and a little one.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake:
We were looking for a sailboat when we happened upon this wonderful old log cabin that had just been listed for sale. We couldn't resist the view of the Continental Divide, the proximity to Lake Granby, the wonderful natural vegetative lot, the log cabin's room layout and large red brick wood burning fireplace! It reminded us of the Lincoln Log cabins we built as children. Craig and I turned to each other and said, 'We need to put an offer on this.' We did, and the rest is history!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love that our log cabin is a 'real' vintage full log cabin and has all the character that goes with it, yet it has modern conveniences. We love to ski at Winter Park and Mary Jane and then either take the ski bus to Granby where we pick up our car or just get in our car and be back at the cabin in no time with no traffic--all the traffic is going in the other direction toward Denver! We also enjoy the nearness of all the year round special activities the Town of Grand Lake has like the Winter Carnival, Buffalo Weekend,Fall Folk Festival and Fireworks on the 4th of July and again on New Year's Eve, but are so happy to be able to leave the hub-bub and drive 4 miles away to our peaceful dead end street looking out at the wildlife, lake and Rocky Mountains. We enjoy the full moon cross country ski at Grand Lake Touring Center in January and February. We enjoy cross-country skiing there during the day as they even have a trail where a person can cross country ski with their dogs--our grand-dog, Loki, loves to do that! We enjoy lying on the hammock day and night, relaxing or stargazing even if we have to get bundled up! We love to go to Rocky Mountain National Park and take their free guided hikes and things like photography classes. In the winter, we like to explore the trails on our snowshoes too. In the fall hearing the elk bugling is very special. We love it when the aspen trees turn gold in front of our cabin in the fall. Too much to tell. Very, very serene and peaceful. Bev's favorite place on earth is here at this cabin. She has read that the best Feng Shui is on a mountain near a lake, maybe that explains it. Great Rocky Mountain water from the tap and fresh air to breath in! Heaven! as one guest put it.
