  We just returned from two weeks in Sayulita. Casa Amarilla was such a wonderful place to stay. The roof top patio/palapa was even better than the pictures, a great place for a margarita and a meal. The plantings and landscaping were really well done. Everything was clean and well maintained. Doug was so prompt in answering any questions we had before our arrival and one or two during our stay. Would we go back? In a heart beat.

  A very relaxing and enjoyable winter escape from Canada was found for a family of three in Sayulita. Each day greeted us with warm sunny weather, delicious food prepared by friendly Mexicans and endless surfing for our teenage daughter. We loved staying at the Casita Amarilla …the highlights were the clean Casa’s, the beautiful grounds where we read underneath the rooftop palapa or lounged by the pool and the visits with the owners Doug and Sheran King. Their hospitality was outstanding including an incredible Christmas dinner. We very much enjoyed our 2 week retreat to Sayulita and highly recommend staying at the Casita Amarilla. Lisa Gallibois

  My husband and I stayed in the lower casita for three weeks, and we still were not ready to go home. The property is fantastic for any length of stay. The casitas have all the amenities needed to be comfortable for any length of time, and since we were there three weeks, we used the laundry, we cooked meals, we had friends visit for an afternoon by the pool, and we truly felt at home. The internet is top notch, as I had to work some each day so that was important. We had the pleasure of Doug and Sheran's (owners) company during part of the stay, very enjoyable to spend some time enjoying margaritas with, and the folks that help maintain the property are wonderful, so helpful and keep the property immaculate. The way the property is designed, you can find your private space if you like, or hang out with others around the pool, we met so many great people during our stay as the other casita was occuppied by different couples through our stay. Sayulita itself is a dream vacation spot, and less than a ten minute walk puts you in the heart of town and the beach is just a couple blocks further. There is plenty to do in Sayulita, as well as some great little towns and beaches to go explore. Surfing, boogie boarding and paddle boarding are a must. We highly recommend Stand Up Paddle for lessons/rentals, the crew is super, and they have a great bar in back of the shop for the evenings. Mangiafuoco, the Italian restaurant just down the hill from the property has the best pizza and fresh handmade pasta, it's like being in Italy, for when you finally grow tired of all the great tacos found at the various little taco shops on the street. Los Afortunadas is another great dining place for a nice meal, beautiful garden setting and the best pork chop my husband ever had. Hopping the bus, getting a taxi or even renting a car for the day is easy to do in town, if you want to spend a day in Puerto Vallarta or elsewhere. There are so many activities, great people, great restuarants, there isn't enough space to list them all, but you won't be sorry taking a Sayulita vacation and staying at Casitas Amarilla.

  Casa Amarilla or casitas I have stayed at both. Don't make the mistake of going anywhere else. My husband and almost 2 year old stayed 3 years ago and it was amazing, beyond amazing. This year we returned and stayed in a casita, equally fabulous. Doug and Sheran do not miss anything, they go beyond your greatest expectations. The beautiful grounds, the palapas, the pool, the hammocks, the washer and dryer,the refridgerators on all levels! music, wireless, TV with Satelite and tons of channels, Endless towels, and great beds! (huge!) So comfy. The beautiful bathroom and insane shower, kitchen that has it all and more and so amazingly clean and beautiful. The most wonderful staff, like family. We will never go anywhere else. Thank you Thank you! Our daughter now 5 and a half slept great on the couch and in the huge bed with us, plenty of room. We made the mistake of thinking we needed to find a "two bedroom" and Doug and Sheran rescued us and got us in with a moments notice to PARADISE!

  We have now stayed at this casita twice...clearly we love it! Doug and Sheran are wonderful and helpful, and the house is beautiful, well maintained, and very tranquil. It is a short walk from the town center and beach, and is an excellent location. Sayulita is an incredible place to visit, and we highly recommend staying here!

  We stayed in the casa at Casita Amarilla and absolutely loved it. The house is relatively new and the construction is top notch with a well thought out floor plan, gorgeous lush landscaping, throughout the property, beautiful showers with natural rocks and a large open kitchen. The house came incredibly well equipped with an in-unit washer & dryer, a fully equipped kitchen (blender, coffee maker, bottled water), stereo system that you can plug your ipod or phone into, towels, umbrella for the beach, books, satellite tv, A/C, boogie boards, and a rooftop palapa complete with a hammock, BBQ, sink, refrigerator and couches. If you have an infant or toddler the house is great as it's separated from the 2 apartments so you don't have to worry about waking up the neighbors whenever the baby starts crying. Doug & Sheran even loaned us their pack n'play crib which was a lifesaver! We BBQ'd on the palapa and would often have our breakfasts there as well. The rooftop palapa area was quite large so it was great for letting our son run around and burn off some steam. The Casa is about a quick 7-10 minute walk to the town square and maybe another 5 min max to the beach. It's far enough from the town center to be relatively quiet. There are some roosters somewhere in the neighborhood, but they never woke me up or bothered me. We were sad to leave but plan to return quickly.

  I spent 4 nights at Casita Amarilla and I can't wait to go back! Everything was wonderful. The cleaning staff kept everything immaculate, the bed was comfortable, the property is even nicer and larger than it appears in the pictures. It was just a short cab ride to Sayulita from PV, we were swimming in the pool at the Casita an hour after our plane landed. The design of the place is well thought out, a nice combination of natural light and privacy.....and the rooftop wet bar with a fridge is just amazing. To top it off Doug and Sheran were great hosts, they pointed us in the right direction to have the trip of a lifetime in Mexico. We'll be back!

  We really enjoyed our stay at the lovely casita Amarilla. The garden and pool area were especially relaxing. Having traveled quite a bit with many VRBO stays, we really appreciate how clean, well-kept and stocked the casita was. The bed was especially comfortable and we appreciated the quality linen and towels. We had everything we needed to cook at home and do laundry. Although we enjoyed a romantic stay having the place all to ourselves as a couple, we thought this would also be an excellent property and location for a family or group of friends and we hope we will have an opportunity to stay here again. Both Doug the owner, and Rene the property manager were very friendly and prompt with communication. Thank you for your kind welcome to your home!

  A few weeks ago we returned from a great stay in the beautiful Casa Amarilla in Sayulita. Both the house and surrounding gardens are immaculately kept, and are in a very peaceful setting. I was impressed by how green and lush everything was ................ the gardeners were really doing their job, and the unexpected tropical storms provided lots of moisture! Fortunately, the rain came at night and the days were mostly sunny! The temperature was hot and the humidity was high so we really appreciated the palapa by the pool. It was perfect for relaxing,reading, and watching the butterflies and hummingbirds. We spent a lot of time in the awesome pool! The rooftop deck, complete with hammocks and comfy chairs, provided a cool evening retreat. The beaches, restaurants, and markets are all within walking distance. We really liked the dinners we had at the Calypso, Sayulita Cafe, and the beachfront restaurants. The owner's suggestions were all great, and he was very helpful in answering any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this holiday rental!

  We stayed a week at Casita Amarilla. A tip to the wise: if you can stay when the hosts, Doug & Sheran, are there you'll get delicious margaritas by the pool every afternoon and polite affection from their cute pooches -- Eddy and Casey. We've been to Sayulita before and appreciated the casita's proximity to town and the beach (less than a 5 minute walk) but quieter location on the east side of the hill. The pool, courtyard gardens and casita were lovely, and we really enjoyed the roof top deck with a view of the sunrise over the valley. The custom built casita features every possible amenity you could need, including fridges by the pool and the rooftop deck. We can't wait to come back. Make sure to drop Sheran and Doug's names at local restaurants... everyone seems to know and love them.
