We were looking to have a weekend getaway for my bithday and kinda see the real Florida. (Too many trips to Miami and Disney) This was the perfect little cottage on the river. I wish I was an aspiring writer because it was one of those great places to conjure up a little inpiration. If your coming to fish make sure you bring live bait as I ended up donating about 5 lures to the river without a bite. A guy staying just up river was using live bait and was pulling up fish pretty regularly. In between seeing the river by canoe or kayak, jumping in the Lafayette Blue Springs just down river, and watching the families of wildlife cross your path, we retreated to the sprawling deck and relaxed with a drink in one hand and a marshmallow roasting on a stick in the other. The cottage was a cozy 2 bed room with a great deck and view of the river. It was modestly appointed with everything necessary for a stay in the country (just a suggestion to the owner; it could have used some steakknives, tinfoil/plastic wrap, and some more wine glasses.) Although there are many dangerous places to fall or get in trouble our well behaved 4 yr old had a great time and really took to Jim and his dog Angel (in the house next door). He, his wife, and Angel were very friendly and were always quick to make sure we had everything we needed. We never had a Suwannee experience before and we want to thank you for making ours one to treasure! Cant wait to come back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.
