  A total romantic getaway...quiet, very clean bungalow, nice shower, clean sheets with a fully equipped kitchen. Now, let's talk about the host...my boyfriend and I were invited to Garry's New Year's Eve party and we were so glad we attended as we had the best time. Garry was one of the most hospitable, giving and accommodating host, not to mention his amazing and genuine friends! His son Cory and his dog were total entertainers too! It was our first time in the island and . Garry exceeded our expectations and if we ever have a chance to go back to Hilo, I for sure will never have to research for a place again because I will reserve Garry's!

  Our stay at Lai Nani was simply EXCELLENT! We spent 10 days there and every one of them was filled with aloha and graciousness. We loved all 3 hosts (Garry, Cory, and Ice!) and interacted with them frequently. The resort is EXACTLY as it is portrayed online and even more beautiful and captivating! All our needs were not only met but exceeded! Christmas Eve Garry and Cory hosted a dinner for those of us on property and it was the highlight of our trip! We just can't say enough about the wonderful Lai Nani! We will definitely be going again and already can't wait to get back! We left the resort relaxed, refreshed, and blessed with new friends!

  My husband and I had one of the poolside cottages for three nights. The cottage was very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. Gary and Cory were great hosts and very helpful. I would definately recommend staying here. The only negative was the absence of near-by restaurants - you will need to drive into Hilo, which really isn't that far.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  This is somewhat past due as we stayed at Lai Nani in September. The photos are a teaser to the real beauty of this wonderful home. As a frequent renter of vacation home I have to say this is the most beautiful place we have found yet. Beyond the beauty is the great warmth and friendliness the owner Garry and his son Cody showed us our entire stay. Both of them were always asking if we needed anything and always had time to answer any questions we might have. Their suggestions on activities and dining were spot on! Thank you Garry for an outstanding week, we hope to return soon and often!

  I should start by saying I use VRBO for at least 4 rentals per year, so I am very familiar with their service. This property was immaculately maintained and flawlessly appointed. I love the bungalows and all the privacy, even though there were 3 other bungalows-I felt like I had the place all to myself. Just being able to come out of your bungalow for a midnight swim or jacuzzi was a treat. The kitchen area is nicely done so you will be able to prepare your own meals and grocery stores and restaurants are very near. We loved having the custom bbq right outside our room with table/ chairs and also our own ocean facing lounge chairs. The owner has covered all the details which I greatly appreciated. Garry and his son Cory were very diligent upon my arrival and took the time to go over activities and restaurants in area. Their recommendations were excellent! I really loved this area and felt like a local. It has a rural setting and the ocean views can't be beat. The town of Hilo has some good restaurants but loved all the fresh seafood the markets had.....I really wanted to cook dinner in and it was always excellent. The photos do not do the property justice, usually things will be a little tired looking....but everything here was fresh and lovely! Thanks so much for the wonderful holiday and I am excited to refer property to my friends.

  The accommodations were far beyond my expectations. The view was spectacular. Gary and Cory were professional and quite accommodating, with personality and energy that made me feel 'at home' almost immediately. Ziplinnining nearly across the street was the best I have ever experienced. Gary was an amazing host, and was eager to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. I highly recommend this Bungalow get-away... it truly was an adventure.

  We only stayed for 3 days but I can't wait to go back. The bungalow was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were awesome, great to soak in after a day of activities. The place is private yet still luxurious. Gary, our host was wonderful. Not only did he make sure our stay was perfect, his knowledge of the island made our days activities even more exciting and fun. I highly recommend the zip line just down the street or a breathtaking helicopter ride. The views from the resort are stunning. I highly recommend Lai Nani. - Kristi

  Lai Nani is a beautiful place - after seeing much of the Big Island I'd say some of the most beautiful views were at Lai Nani and on the Hilo side. The bungalow we stayed at had all the comforts of home and was like staying in a brand new mini home! From the high end finishes to our own patio and gas grill and open use of the pool and hot tub, the stay was so comfortable. The pictures you see online are accurate, but honestly don't do this place justice - it's so much more beautiful in person. Garry and Cory were the most hospitable and accommodating people to work with, but they became more like friends to us. Be sure to ask these guys about nearby activities - they can get you discounts. It was nice talking with them about the best attractions and places to visit. I'd recommend Lai Nani over any hotel or rental due to the spectacular accommodations and proximity to the Big Island's attractions. We miss this place and can't wait to go back!

  My husband an I spent 3 beautiful days at Lai Nani at the start of our vacation. This property exceeded all our expectations. I know I wish that we had more time to spend at this resort!! Cory met us on arrival and acquainted us to the unit. The unit was impeccable and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed having the fridge and microwave. The gardens and views (including rainbows and sunrises) made you remember, " Life is Good!" .Garry was the perfect host always making sure everything was just perfect ! What else can I say except you will never forget the time you spend at Lai Nani. It is a once in a lifetime experience.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
