  We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the cottage to others, in particular dog owners. Our dogs loved lounging on the large balcony! The photos are accurate - everything was nice, clean, and comfortable. Great location - close to the beach and to restaurants, including Shells, a delicious one down the street. Many thanks to the friendly owner of the cottage!

  The cottage was super comfortable and very nice. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony and the breeze from the doors to the patio. Thanks for letting our dogs enjoy the beach. Will be visiting again soon!

  We loved the location, it's about 5 blocks from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The property was very clean and had all the ammenities that you need. THe only issue was with the TV's. The TV in the LR quit working and the bedroom TV was WAY to small to use in the LR and the DVD didn't work. THe owner did come by and check it out and at the time it worked and then quit again later.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

  The cottage was just what we needed as a home away from home. You can't see the beach, but it is within easy walking distance. We watched the sunrise over the Gulf several mornings; beautiful! Having a place for our dog when he wasn't included on the day's outing was so nice. So much less stress on him. We enjoyed not only shelling on the beach, but UTSMI, Wetlands Education Center, Port Aransas Museum, Leonabelle Birding Center, walking out on the jetty, watching the ships come in to port with dophins jumping ahead of them, the Nature Preserve and a trip to St. Jose Island. First time visit to Port A, but not our last!

  The Huff Cottage was absolutely perfect. It was exactly as described and was the perfect size for our little family. We loved that our dog was able to go on vacation with us and we had everything we needed. The porch was a great place to unwind and everything was so close yet it was a peaceful neighborhood. We fully intend to visit again and will tell all our friends and family. thanks so much for making our vacation perfect! If you have a young child who isn't used to stairs, consider bringing a gate as the stairs are inside. Our 18 month old was able to tell that they were too steep for her little legs, but a more daring child might have taken a tumble.

  My husband and I wanted to get away for a couple of nights with our two dogs and this place ended up being perfect. It's really close to everything in town and very neat and tidy. The bed was a tad creaky but after being at the beach all day we were exhausted and didn't let it bother us. The a/c in the bedroom and living room worked great. We also enjoyed the great breeze on the balcony. We're hoping to make this an annual trip.

  This was our second stay at Huff Cottage with our 3 dogs, and it did not disappoint. We stayed 4 nights and had a great time. We stayed last year and noticed some minor property damage since our last stay from an apparently anxious puppy locked in the bathroom. A suggestion for travelers with pets: a wire crate will keep your furry child out of trouble while your out of town. I was surprised by the comment of no a/c in the bedroom. There was ac when we stayed here in 4/2011. I admit that it never got freezing inside, but it was plenty cool enough for me. A second portable ac unit was added to the living room since our last visit. The house cottage is not on ground level. We had to carry our geriatric dog up the stairs. We hope to return next summer.

  we have stayed at the huff cottage twice now and still absolutely love it! we will also be back in july and in august! plan on making this "our place" from now on! highly recommend!

  Wife and I were looking for something small that accommodated pets, this was perfect. It was clean, convenient, close to amenities. We stayed 2 months and will be back. Ashlee was great !
