We stayed at Cedar Moon for a small family reunion and it was very memorable, and Philip and Sandra made us feel very welcome. Most of the party arrived by car but a couple of us flew up on Corilair from Vancouver which was a very glamorous way to arrive. I loved the way the house was built , in that you walked up the stairs to the most stupendous view anywhere, ever. Its incredible. Added touches like the fresh garden veggies were much appreciated. I highly recommend Cedar Moon and would happily stay there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is the Tremblay's 11th year coming to Cortes, and we never tire of it! We had a wonderful week, weather was great, beachcombing, clam & oyster bake, canoeing, swimming in Hague Lake, the Friday Market. Your house was inspiring as we spent many hours on the deck, reading, laughing, and just being mesmerized by the view. I truly loved the garden - it was beautiful! We look forward to our next trip and hopefully we can stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came back! Need we say more!! It's nice to revisit a place, especially a spot from which we've carried such beautiful memories throughout the past year...The house is as beautiful & comfy as before. Nice to sit by a fire in the woodstove. We enjoyed the peace & quiet, the hikes, the fish & chips at the Cove Restaurant, finding chanterelle mushrooms again, going clamming. Meeting you both finally was great, settles the mystery of who these wonderful people might be, who lovingly decorate a house & carefully nurture visitors from afar.Did you find this review helpful? The ever changing view of the sea and mountains hypnotized us each day. Caught a feast of fish from the canoe - Rockfish & Salmon. We saw a huge Sea Lion slowly swim by, a sea otter, and porpoise too. The house was perfect, one of the best we have ever rented. Hope to come back again soon!Did you find this review helpful? We had a lovely first week of 3 weeks island hopping. We loved your beach house, it was very cozy, we played many games, read lots out on the deck glancing up occasionally to take in the oceanfront view. Highlights were tidepools & lagoon swimming at Manson's Landing, playing at Hague Lake -- amazingly warm! Also had a delicious last night meal at the Floathouse on Gorge Harbour. Thanks for sharing your holiday home. The kids loved the playground and lighted paths.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wow !! What a week! Hiking at Kw'as and Hathayim Parks -- canoeing at Manson's Lagoon -- beaching at Smelt Bay -- sleeping in -- meditating on the sundeck with a hummingbird for company --seeing deer, seals, otters, herons, woodpeckers, dolphins, eagles, ravens -- reading the morning away, while the boys played on the beach -- full moon through the bedroom window at 3 AM -- weather coming across Lewis Channel -- snorkelling at Manson's Lagoon. You know? I think we may be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

You have a beautiful & peaceful vacation rental home, unplugged from the rest of the world. We only made one trip to the library to use the internet. Martin's & Shannon's favorite part of our stay was catching that 26-lb Chinook Salmon on our fishing trip with Ed Jordon as our guide. Greg's favorite part was grilling that salmon and eating it every night out on the oceanfront deck (sometimes even for lunch and breakfast) and sipping coffee on the deck with me while the teenagers slept in. My favorite and unexpected delights were the fresh oyster po-boys provided by Martin & Shannon's afternoon jaunts on the beach. A New Orleans girl's heaven! Overall, we just enjoyed the slow passage of time. Time to read a book from cover to cover, time to play Password & Trivial Pursuit & Texas Hold'Em & Badminton, time to feed the crabs and throw rocks into the sea, time to really talk to each other, and time to just be quiet! Thanks for the experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for sharing your holiday home with us. From the bald eagle who greeted us atop a tree next to the house when we arrived, to the phosphorescence in the water the night before we left...we had a wonderful time. We've enjoyed shrimp from Squirrel Cove, spring salmon from the ocean, and clams from the beach. This is the life!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Year Purchased: 1988
About the owner: We've been sailing and exploring the westcoast for the past 25 years.
Why the Owner Chose Squirrel Cove:
We bought this beach house because of the stunning oceanfront views -- if you were any closer to the water you would be on a boat, with swimming right off the rocks at high tide!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Twelve quiet acres of cedar & fir trees right down to the beach, with miles of undeveloped seashore to explore south of Cedar Moon, pick fresh seafood when in season.
