Perfect for every season. Private setting, yet very accessible to all amenities. Luxurious living room and a large game room with a pool table which doubles at night as the fifth bedroom with two extra long sleigh beds and a sleep sofa. Three king-size, one queen-size, two twin-size, bunk bed with upper twin, lower futon withfullsize double. Five TV's,Bose Surround Sound, two VCR's/DVD's. There is a large fully-equipped kitchen with a separate breakfast room overlooking a New Orleans courtyard. Excellent location. All rooms are large and comfortable.
The house sits on two lots and have beautiful well established gardens. Just walk across the lawn and you are on the beach. Bedding:

House problematic in several ways

On the positive side: this house is cheaper than most ocean-front 6 bedroom homes in North Forest. The pool is good size and not too deep (good for kids) and there is ample patio furniture. (But note: The hot tub does not work and there are no umbrellas for shade.) The kitchen is decent (not overly modern, but we didn't care). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were adequate. The living room was pleasant, although there is no outdoor deck. And the house is right next to Coligny Plaza which is a major advantage. We had a nice vacation there - 6 adults and 4 children under age 6 - and overcame all the annoyances (see below). It is a beach house, after all. And Hilton Head is fabulous. However: the house is not in good repair. We found ourselves fixing little things throughout the week – doors, furniture, lights, etc. The furnishings were not particularly appealing, and more problematic, was the fact that we had to move so many items in the home to places where children could not reach. There seemed to be no effort to make the house suitable for young children, or to remove the very personal idiosyncratic decorations of the owner. The air conditioning did not reach one of the bedrooms - so we didn't use it. There was a sign on the Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom saying not to use it – we never learned why. The beach is not immediately accessible from the yard. You have to walk out the front door and through the condo pathway. And the sliding doors to the outside were very difficult to open so we rarely used them. We felt we were excellent tenants - kept the place immaculate (vacuuming the house and cleaning the pool regularly as required by the owner!) - which made it especially infuriating that she kept $500 of our cleaning deposit - after requiring us to pay $250 more than stated in rental agreement. She accused us of cracking a tile in the bathroom (which we did not) and not washing the bath towels before we left (which we were never told to do and is a highly irregular expectation for a vacation renter) forcing the cleaning crew to stay hours longer than usual (according to the owner). Furthermore, she called to check up on us throughout the week - which we found annoying. One problem is that the owner is not in town, and relies on a cranky cleaning crew to inspect and report damage and handle access to the house. I would not go back to this house - the unpleasantness about the cleaning deposit particularly left us with a bad feeling.
