Beautiful canal front home, located 30 miles south of Tallahassee, has all of the comforts of home and is within minutes of world-class speckled trout fishing waters. Our 1492 square foot modular home is located in gated Paradise Village of Shell Point, with swimming pool and tennis court privileges, and a public beach within walking distance. We offer a deepwater canal boat dock right out the back door --- just two minutes away and one canal over from the public boat launch.
The living quarters features three bedrooms, two baths (one with a Jacuzzi tub), a large family area with pool table and big-screen TV, laundry room, screened porch, and fully-equipped kitchen. These accommodations will sleep eight people comfortably, and consist of a king-size bed, queen-size bed, two twin beds, queen-size sleeper sofa, and a rollaway bed. Perfect for a family or a few guys who just want to fish.
Shell Point is also a popular destination for windsurfing and sailing, hosting several annual Regattas. Other interests in the immediate area include a beautiful public golf course (Wildwood Country Club), which is ten minutes away, and one of the finest seafood restaurants anywhere (Angelo's), which is only 20 minutes away.
The Shell Point area is considered to be part of Florida’s forgotten coast. It is a small, quiet community located on the Apalachee Bay that has escaped the fast-lane development that has taken over other areas. You can enjoy the unspoiled and natural beauty of Shell Point, nearby Wakulla Springs State Park, or the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge; yet, you are only 30 minutes from Tallahassee, with its malls, nightclubs, and restaurants.
This is truly a fisherman's paradise - fish all day (speckled trout, redfish, Spanish mackerel, cobia, tarpon, grouper, black sea bass, etc.). Relax at night shooting pool, watching the big-screen TV, or soaking in the Jacuzzi tub. The next morning, get up and do it again.

Why the Owner Chose Shell Point
I started visiting Shell Point in 1998 and just fell in love with the area; not only for the fishing, but also because of the wildlife and natural habitat. The area is also ideal for my other hobby, which is photography.
The Unique Benefits at this Mobile Home
I enjoy the convenience of having the boat right out the back door. I love getting up early to catch sunrise on the bay and fishing for the "first bite" of the day. Even when we don't use our boat, there are so many nearby parks and locations to observe and photograph wildlife ... and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. When dinner time comes, if we don't cook our catch, there are so many really good seafood restaurants to choose from. At night, the boys always enjoy shooting a little pool; but I'm usually on the internet, catching up on emails.

rental was very comfortable for our family of three and accompanying family of four. we brought our 23' center console bay boat and dock was adequate. launching was a little challenging due to few ramps available to accomodate our larger boat. rental has lots of bath towels, comfortable beds and is nicely decorated. we recommend this rental.
Owner response:I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Dock of the Bay. We love it there. There’s nothing like the peaceful, quiet bay to make you forget about the rest of the world. I apologize for the current boat ramp situation (closed ramp at Shell Point and Oyster Bay ramp in need of repair). Maybe Wakulla County will eventually build another ramp in Shell Point or lease the existing ramp and correct the slope, so that it is safe for public use. That is what they promised. We look forward to having you stay with us again!

Never in our wildrest dreams could a place be so perfect. From the instant we opened the front door until the day that we closed it to return home, our experience at "Dock of the Bay" was everything we had hoped. Deb and Jerry know how to please their guests to the point that "we can't wait to get back next winter"! I was so fortunate to find them online, never dreaming our vacation would be so perfect right down to the lovely linens and heavenly beds, to a fully equipped kitchen - everything was there at our disposal including golf clubs to a fish cleaning station right on the boat dock. Everything was so tastefully decorated and folks were friendly everywhere we went. Taking our boat was one of the smartest things we ever did. Rod couldn't wait everyday to get out in the beautiful bay and hope for a great catch or not. We would spend many an evening out in the bay watching some of the most incredible sunsets. This is heaven folks, quiet, beautiful, no traffic and the place to be for one of the most relaxing vacations ever. Don't wait too long to make your reservations. I booked this unit for a vacation with my parents. The area was a bit different from what I am used to. We normally vacation in the Keys and deal with the expensive hustle. What a nice change of pace. The unit was plenty big enough for one teenager, four adults, and a couple of pups. To have a unit with a dock right out back and Gulf access within five minutes for reasonable price was a blessing. Plenty of fishing, snorkling, and fresh seafood to eat. (Try Posey's Steamroom if you head to Panacea) It was actually close enough to Tallahassee for the girls to go shopping for the day and still be home for dinner. Deborah was great to work with, and I will be contacting her again. P.S. My daughter loved the pool table, she became a shark during our stay.

We have had a great month at Shell Point and loved every minute of it. Dock of the Bay worked so well for us. There was lots of room for everyone and the kitchen is perfect. We had everything we needed. You must have had a great time decorating and we enjoyed all the birds and Florida scenes throughout the home. We had no problems with anything and hope to return soon.
