Bar Harbor cottage description
Mizzentop's Cottage is a sweet cottage located in downtown Bar Harbor.
The home has a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, a relaxing sun porch, three bedrooms and one bath. There is an outdoor patio for intimate family cookouts.
There is plenty of room for the family to gather together or find your own corners for quiet relaxation. The home is adorned with flower beds and window boxes that are professionally maintained.
Mizzentop's Cottage was once the laundry house for one of Bar Harbor's premier historic estates. It was moved to its present location in the 1930' s, which is very fortunate because had it not been moved, it would have been destroyed by the Great Fire of 1947.
You can find more information on the wonderful old estates of Bar Harbor at the Bar Harbor Historical Society located on Ledgelawn Ave.

Great Location and Helpful Owner & Staff
Great Location and Helpful Owner & Staff
My family vacationed in Bar Harbor for the first time in June 2012. Not knowing the area, we were pleasantly surprised by this quaint, well kept cottage. The location is very good. Short five minute walk to the village green and main shopping area of Bar Harbor and plenty of parking. To get to Acadia, it is about 5 minutes. Since it is on a dead-end street, there is no through traffic. Even before our arrival the rental agent was very helpful in getting us information on where to go and what to do in Bar Harbor and Acadia, and assisted me in finding places for food (I am on a special diet). The owner was also great in helping us change out the gas tank for the grill. Lots of space in the kitchen and fantastic equipment to use, not the standard leftovers from some yard sale you find in rentals. The only bummer is there is one bath which is small, but clean. Definately would stay there again. Even the neighbor was friendly!

About the owner: I grew up in Bar Harbor and my husband came here to work one summer after college, and then never left! We thoroughly enjoy sharing the grace and beauty of our home town with others. Bar Harbor is very much a "walking town" with lots of unique shops and wonderful restaurants to explore. Right next door is Acadia National Park, a showcase for Maine's rugged shoreline, evergreen covered mountains, and the most exquisite sunrise in the U.S. Tour Acadia by foot, bike, or guided trolley. The natural setting and cultural heritage of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are truly unmatched.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Mizzentop's Cottage is located on a quiet dead-end street on the edge of downtown Bar Harbor. Anything you could need and everything you will want to see is within walking distance. Come enjoy Mizzentop and leave your car behind!
