Can't wait to come back!
"The chalet was the perfect Bar Harbor location for our first family vacation, including our dog! For us the location was perfect, close enough to major attractions like Acadia National Park and Downtown Bar Harbor, but secluded enough for relaxation. The house itself was immaculately clean, and had all the amenities one could need for the week (towels, dishes, hairdryer, etc.). The owners were really helpful and available when needed; they even left a binder full of dog-friendly restaurants and activities. We loved sitting out on the porch in the evenings and walking down to the water at low tide to explore. My only (minor) issue would be that there is no light above the shower in the bathroom, but this didn't bother us too much. Overall we had a wonderful time at the Chalet, and can't wait to come back!"

"We had a fabulous trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. The cottage had the best location for us. We liked being able to walk into town after a long day of hiking. The restaurants that Toni and Herb recommended were great. They answered all of my questions via phone or email. We walked the beautiful shore path every morning. Also, we enjoyed the great bikes that were provided with the cottage. We pack light, so we appreciated the washer and dryer in the basement. It was nice to be staying in a local neighborhood away from the crowds, but an easy walk to the Bar Harbor Shops."

"We came to Maine to raise a barn. This cottage was perfect for us. It was clean, cozy, and friendly. We had everything that we could possibly need. I did some cooking for our crew, and had everything that I needed. The owners were very responsive, helpful, and generous. The location was just a few miles from where we were working, and close to everything else that we needed. We had a very pleasant stay.
The only reason to hesitate in giving a great review, is that others will love the place as much as we did: Then it would not be available the next time we want to stay. The pictures do not depict the true feel of this lovely home.
Thank you Audrey and Ken from us, and all of our team of timberframers.

"I stayed here with my boyfriend in June for 9 days. I echo the peace and quiet sentiments. If you traveled one way you had access to the Beech Mountain Trails. The other direction offered a short drive to rent canoes on Long Pond. The location of the house is fantastic. Only 15 minutes to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and less for surrounding villages like Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor, Northwest Harbor etc. The drive to Bangor was only 45 minutes and we took a couple of road trips just to go exploring. There was no shortage of places to hike, walk, canoe, kayak, climb and you could get right out of the car and touch the ocean on multiple occasions. A photographer's dream.
The house itself is spectacular. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials for cooking, and the living area warm and cozy and open. Perfect for visiting while preparing meals. The bedrooms were perfect with comfortable beds and plenty of space. We even unpacked our suitcases into the dressers provided. It truly felt like home. John and Priscilla were lovely hosts and offered wonderful advice on things to do and traveling times.
We purchased groceries in Southwest Harbor and also went to the Beech Hill Farm Stand where there was a lovely selection of fresh and homemade goods. Perfect for a quick run or for a big shop. People were so friendly and we interacted with many locals.
Overall, this place is fantastic and highly recommended for a laid back wonderful Maine vacation. I couldn't recommend this place more. We will definitely be back!"
