  • Superb Bar Harbor rental

"This is a superb holiday home. Dee Dee is the most charming and welcoming of owners, and the property itself is maintained to the highest possible standards. Dee Dee's attention to detail is fantastic. She goes the extra mile to ensure that your stay will be perfect. The house is within a 5 minute walk of all of the town's facilities - very convenient. The town of Bar Harbor is a must see for New England visitors. The town itself is absolutely charming - and has a "real" feel to it. The Acadia National Park next to Bar Harbor is one of America's real national treasures and should not be missed on any account. It is magnificent and stunningly beautiful. If you stay here you will, like us, have a fantastic and wholly memorable vacation. Do not miss it . Dee Dee's "Home from Home" is the perfect base for your stay. We loved it and have no hesitation in recommending it wholeheartedly to others."

  • Great location for Acadia

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this roomy light filled apartment. It is conveniently located for access to Acadia and Mount Desert Island attractions, a few minutes outside Bar Harbor, and even closer to Acadia. The owner was very engaging, providing a warm welcome, and advice about local attractions. The apartment itself is large and well appointed, with excellent kitchen. Going to sleep accompanied by the bullfrogs in the pond was great. Highly Recommend to anyone visiting Acadia or MDI."

  • Nice little apartment in a great location!

"We have stayed at this apartment twice now with our daughter (6 mos first visit and 2.5 yrs second visit) and really liked it. The apartment is neat, nicely furnished, and has all that a small family needs. The owners are very nice and the communication has been good with both trips. It is wonderful to spend the day at Acadia and come back to the convenience of Bar Harbor. If you have a small child I would recommend bringing a child gate (we did), as the stairway up to the apartment is open and quite steep. We will definitely be back in the years to come."

  • Cozy Cottage on Western Bay

"We had such a great time staying in this cozy cottage. The sunroom overlooking the water was my favorite place to sit. We saw seals playing and the fog rolling in at night. At high tide, you can hear the water from the master bedroom which just lulled us to sleep. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals if you want. Although there is not a washer and dryer, the kitchen sink is plenty big to rinse out a few items of clothes. Also, there is no wifi or TV which we thought was a bonus and we didn't miss either one at all! There is a radio so we listened to music. Cell service (Verizon) worked great! You can rent kayaks from a local company that will deliver right to the cabin (or bring your own) so we enjoyed the Western Bay waterfront access from the cabin. The cabin is located on a very quiet road and only 7 miles from the main entrance to Acadia National Park, 9 miles to Bar Harbor, and 10 miles to Ellsworth. We did not have any traffic to deal with. Lots of restaurants nearby and an IGA grocery that has everything else you might need. They even sell spirits and Maine's famous blueberry wine. Thank you Pat and Bob for sharing your cabin and we hope we can get to Maine again soon. There are many more hiking trails that we need to do."
