"We love staying at Rocko's cottage. It's got everything you need for comfort including air conditioning, comfy beds, cable tv, good size kitchen, etc. It's clean & convenient to downtown but away from the noise. So easy to walk to the village green & use the shuttle service. A lovely park in the other direction. Love staying here. Lisa is available for anything but never intrusive. Highly recommend Rocko's cottage"

"We had an AMAZING week here.
Our large and multi-generational family of seven stayed at this house in July. We had a fantastic visit and we plan to come back next year. We hiked several mountains, ate in nearby restaurants, swam in a nearby pond, and walked to the water and rocks from the house.
Everyday had a new and fun activity.
The spaciousness of the 3-level house was perfect for the three generations of our family. People could work, rest, or watch TV downstairs and not hear any noise from the activities of the other family members. The several large bedrooms also let us spread out and have privacy when needed.
The entire house is beautiful, with light wood and while walls. The property is expansive, with a garden, yard, and path to the water. My 3 year old picked blueberries from the many bushes planted there. Paths through the Blagden Preserve provided an easy walk to the water, and our child loved looking for shellfish at the beach during low tide. Next time we will bring binoculars so that we can see the seals on the rocks at the Preserve.
We enjoyed hiking, playing golf at the nearby public courses, and watching the boats come into the harbor. We didn't have time to kayak or ride bikes, but hope to on our next visit. The roads around the house have few cars, and would be ideal for biking, and the Acadia Carriage roads are also nearby. We want to take the kayak out next time, as you can launch it just down the street from the house.
We HIGHLY recommend this house. The house itself and its surroundings are wonderful. There are many great dining opportunities on the island, in nearby town hill, bar harbor, and southwest. But every night, we rushed home to watch an amazing sunset over the water."

"My family rented this home in July of 2015 and it was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 young children. It was just the right size for us including the wonderful kitchen and large family room where we were able to kick back and relax each evening after the sun went down. Even though this was an older home you could tell a lot of thought went into the remodeling including the latest appliances in the kitchen and ceiling fans throughout the house. They added to our comfort. Off the road parking was plentiful and there was more than enough room to store our bicycles and yard games.
Another great feature is the location - we had easy access to Acadia National Park which we visited every day. You could literally walk to a trail which would take you anywhere in the park. With just a short drive you could reach any of the beautiful towns and attractions including our personal favorite - mini golf.
I highly recommend this property and found the owner to be very helpful and prompt in responding to our questions. We took her advice on places to eat and to try the Popovers at the Jordan Pond House (which were excellent).
We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Mt Desert Island!"

"Lodging at Acadia Getaway was a fantastic experience for our family of 5. It was our 2nd trip to Acadia and the location was just phenomenal! The home is just a short few minutes drive to one of the several Acadia Nat'l Park entrances, Eagle Lake carriage trail for biking, and beautiful downtown Bar Harbor. The beds were very comfortable and the home was very well equipped - the owners even had a baby backpack we used to get our little one up the hiking trails - very thoughtful! The washer and dryer was key - very important with kids! The home was exactly what I anticipated after seeing photos on VRBO - clean, cute and very cozy. We hope to be back as well as to recommend to many other family and friends in FL who have never experienced the treasure of Acadia!"
