When going for our last swim before checking out, my daughters told me that they did not want to leave, I had to wholeheartedly agree with them. The atmosphere is so enjoyable and relaxing. While staying at the cabin, it feels like a trip to a recreational area right outside the front door. The best part is that the patrons are all family and friends. I had moments with my children and wife that I will never forget. The natural surroundings are majestic. Brenda and Greg are outstanding hosts. They were friendly, accommodating but never intrusive. If you visit, please respect the sanctuary they have created and ENJOY!

Our family of five spent a week in this perfect place in July. I was amazed at how clean the cabin was, and little necessities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, sponge were all provided for us. The lake was just the right size for our three elementary aged girls. They fished, swam, boated and had the time of their lives! We used the grill and ate on the front porch of the cabin enjoying the beautiful scenery. We even saw deer! The owners are friendly and courteous and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. They even mailed us the clothing we left behind in their dryer (for free and without being asked)! It was such a wonderful place to vacation and I hope we go back every year! Peaceful and great for families!

My husband and I just finished a two night stay at the Burnt Ranch property. What a perfect weekend! The location was amazing, the price, the place itself, and the ability to get away from it all! This is truly god's country and it is so great to have been here! We really need to keep this place a secret!!

Owner response: Thank you so much for recommending our place. We hope you will make a return visit soon. Sincerely, Brenda Simmons

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin - so much so that I almost don't want to share the secret! This was the last place we stayed during a long summer road trip - and it was one of our two favorite places of the trip. The whole family loved the lake and we spent many hours using the various canoes, kayaks, the paddle board etc. to explore the lake and try to catch frogs (not easy!). Our 6 year old had a blast kayaking all by herself. We would love to come again and stay for longer than 2 days. Our hosts were super friendly too! Being the only vacationers on the property, it was also very private and peaceful, and at the same time we weren't too worried about our small children bothering anyone else. Thanks for a great stay!

Skycrest is quickly become our only must do yearly vacation. Could be one of the best private family vacation spots anywhere. The lake is perfect, the house is perfect. We booked next year the day we left. It makes you want to move to the Trinity Alps. I wish I could keep it a secret and I wouldn't leave a comment if I didn't already know that they will be booked solid all summer anyway. No internet at the cabin but it is available about 200 yards away at the barn. Forget about your cell phone. You are in the Trinity Alps.

SkyCrest Lake is in a great location for scenery, fishing, river access, and just relaxation. We have stayed at SkyCrest with large groups (usually 24-30 people) for one week at a time. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, with all sorts of wild life to check out. Great location for river rafting access. All sorts of activities at the lake to keep you (or a group of kids) busy. Greg and Brenda have always gone out of their way to make us comfortable when we stay with them. The pictures on the listings don't do the place justice. The views are so amazing from up there it is hard to capture it in a picture. The property is very well-maintained. I would (and have) recommend this property to family and friends.

My family and I first stayed here for my 30th birthday and immediately fell in love with the place. With a beautiful lake right out the front door and an abundance of boats to float and paddle around on, we were in heaven. Our kids loved trying out each of the boats, and the river is just a few minutes down the road. I loved it so much that we came back the next year and rented the cabins for my bachelorette party and had a rockin' ladies weekend that we will never forget. The owners make you feel completely at home and it is somewhere that we all agreed that we have to revisit at least once every year!

Celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary here. Found by searching VRBO. The property was even better then the pictures showed and our host and hostess were friendly and helpful. The cabin has everything you could need and then some. Playing on the lake was fun and relaxing and Greg & Brenda seem to enjoy sharing their water toys. Woke up to rain one morning and even that was wonderful. Can't wait to go back next year and bring the grown kids with us.

We love coming here every summer with our family. The owners are very friendly, hospitable and we always have a very relaxing time. The cabins are fully equipped with everything we could possibly need (they have thought of everything), the property is extremely safe for our 3 and 4 year olds to play on and around and they really enjoy jumping off the floating dock. LOVE IT HERE!
