Stone walls and the conversation terrace with fire pit lead you to your getaway
Location: Chimney Rock, Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA (Chimney Rock, Blue Ridge Mountains)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
This is the perfect home for a quiet, relaxing weekend, week, or even longe. Peace and quiet with all the luxuries of home. You find yourself surrounded by the beauty of God's creation as you drive to the top of this mountain along a creek with beautiful waterfalls, just above Chimney Rock. When you arrive you will find a wonderful refuge from stresss. The home resembles an Irish or French mountain home with stone walls, grape trellises on the hillside and berries throughout the property. Enjoy rocking on the front porch, where the mountain views are breath taking or relax in the private hot tub while marveling at the night sky. Or enjoy a quiet evening at the old stone fire pit on a secluded conversation terrace that will make you feel like you went back in time.. Smores anyone? Take a leisurely stroll through our quiet neighborhood or enjoy more challenging mountain trails. The homes, in this neighborhood, are close enough for comfort but far enough from each other for privacy. We now offer 180 degree views from the front porches. There is a new stone wall and private fire pit area to enjoy the beautiful night sky.
The house was completed in 2008, so it is still new and well kept. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of this home for less than many inns or resorts, and there is room to bring the entire family if you want to. The house sits on approximately 2 acres of land, and there is plenty of parking space. The main level features a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and white oak floors. The living room features a big screen HDTV with an innovative Polk Audio Surround SoundBar System. Featuring DIRECTTV! Enjoy the gas log fireplace in the winter and the cool mountain breeze as you open the windows in the summer. The master bedroom is also on the main floor and features a king size bed with large windows overlooking the mountains. The lower level has two bedrooms with a queen size bed in each, along with a futon in the downstairs den area. The den is also a game room featuring a Playstation game with lots of games including DDR pads and even old fashioned board games. We recently added HIGH SPEED INTERNET WIFI. Very fast!
Nearby attractions include Chimney Rock Park where shops abound and streams flow. Lake Lure boat rides and the beach area are sure hits for all ages. Hendersonville is only a short drive away, and Asheville and the beautiful Biltmore House and Gardens are only 25 minutes away. A short drive to Black Mountain is a must for antique lovers. There are several great restaurants in the area, and many types of entertainment are sure to be found.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2010
We love to travel. Our son is a studio engineer and our daughter is about to start college so we hope to have more time at the Autumn View. We fell in love with it the first time we saw the view. One of the best we have ever seen.
Why the Owner Chose Chimney Rock
The home is right in the middle of so much Ashville and the Biltmore, spectacular Lake Lure, Black Mountain for antiqueing and music and historic Hendersonville yet it is so private and removed. AND THE VIEWS ARE TREMENDOUS.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy coming to our mountain home to rest and unwind from the hustle and bustle of day to day activities. We enjoy cooking out and sitting around a nice fire. The hot tub is very relaxing! With High Speed WIFI HDTV and a Polk Audio system for the rest of the time.

My family and I had a wonderful time in Chimney Rock! Autumn View was in the perfect location - close to Asheville for shopping and the Biltmore, close to Maggie Valley for skiing and hiking at Chimney Rock park is right around the corner! Autumn View was very clean and had all of the amenities of home. The open, unobstructed views were spectacular and the night sky was amazing. We enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen, roasting marshmallows over the fire and soaking in the jacuzzi. We would recommend this location for anyone looking to get away from it all, but still be close enough to activities. Amazing, relaxing vacation - thanks Bill and Lea for sharing your home away from home!

Great views of the mountains. Our family met there over Thanksgiving for the week. Great weather, neat hot tub, fire pit and other extras. The house is in excellent condition and just a few years old. Clean throughout & decorated nicely. Sprint cell phone service was quite spotty. Wifi worked well throughout the home. Very little traffic on the roads. A great place for a respite and relaxation. Owners took the time to call & check w/ us several times to ensure things were ok. Very windy road on the way up to the place. We've rented many homes on vrbo and would recommend this one. Thanks to Lea & Bill.

We simply can’t rave enough about the view, accommodations and location. It was hard to tear ourselves away to visit the local attractions. Bill and Lea have seen to every detail imaginable. They even called to ensure we arrived safely and to see if we had any questions about any of the accommodations. Bill also called following our depart to see if we enjoyed our stay and if we encountered any problems. These folks care about their guests and treated us as family friends. Their guest book covers the area in detail right down to the places to eat and visit. If you are looking for a CLEAN home with “a view to die for” you have found it. Bill and Lea have set the bar high. Our only hope is that should they decide to sell we can have first option!

The pictures do NOT do justice. This home is extremely remote, has expansive mountain views, and is stocked with amenities you wouldn't find at most vrbo homes. I've rented for several years from this site and have yet to experience an equal amount of joy as when we visited this home! The owners were welcoming down to the tiniest detail: travel shampoos, conditioners, lotions, spice cabinet, all light switches labeled clearly so you don't have to flip a million to figure out what turns on where, comfortable beds, typed directions about how to work complex (and good quality!) tv and stereo systems, included star charts to help view the expansive skyline at night, wonderful apple and cinnamon smells throughout the house, and personal email and clear communication throughout the stay. They were both very easy and kind to work with. I would strongly recommend this property to any and all vrbo-ers looking for a stunning mountain getaway. No obstructed mountain views, no "busy roads" or towns for at least 15 minutes, and absolute solitude! Perfect for 4-6 people.

From the covered porches that stretch the length of the lovely home, we rocked to our hearts’ content while we immersed ourselves in some great books and enjoyed our favorite teas and wines. At the height of the fall season, the views were nothing less than spectacular. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen in the home will exceed your needs. We found a very well-stocked Ingles located in Lake Lure about 20 minutes away where we chose some fresh rainbow trout and ribeye steaks to place on the outdoor gas grill during the evenings (don’t forget to pick up some Gelato for dessert). Afterwards, when the stars appeared close enough to touch, we eased into the hot tub on the lower porch for some relaxation. When it came time to sleep, the master bedroom with its mountain views and spacious full bath proved refreshing. Desiring some entertainment from time to time, we turned to the HD TV with the full range of DirectTV channels. But most of the time, we just enjoyed listening to soft music on the Zen or New Age channels at 856-857 on the superb Polk Audio system. Can’t stand to leave you work behind like me or otherwise feel you have to be connected to the world via internet, high speed wireless and ethernet connections allow to do both without interruption. Just bring along your notebook or netbook. Connection was easy and reliable. If this sounds just to peaceful for your tastes, you will also find the home it to be centrally located to the action. Over the course of our week-long stay, we were only 30 minutes away from: driving along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway; unloading our bikes on the grounds of the Biltmore to take to its easy and challenging trails; driving along the apple valley into Hendersonville for the best Mexican food this side of the border at the original Papa’s and Beer; walking the downtown streets of Asheville to visit our favorite places - the venerable Mast General Store, eclectic Malaprop’s Bookstore, Three Dog Bakery (have to get treats for our best friends back in Tennessee), and Doc Chey’s Noodle House for fantastic Asian food. Peace, Love, Noodles! If that doesn't fit your taste, there is so much more to experience in this area. Just ask around. We just left and already look forward to returning. After your initial stay, we believe you will too. Thanks Bill and Lea for opening up to us your special home in the mountains.

This is a wonderful house. Very clean with all the extras. Away from everything yet not far away from the action. Layout was perfect for our family. Did not feel like we were on top of each other. Pictures only show a little, we were happily suprised. Hope to plan another trip soon.

My husband, and another couple stayed at Autumn View this past June (2010). The home was beautiful, well equipped and very clean. We had the best time sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. The neighborhood is very pleasant, we enjoyed several nice walks. The rooms are all big and cozy at the same time. We have rented several homes via VRBO and found this one to be one of the best. Thanks again. Bob and Chris Bowman,Mike and June Goertzen
