Wine lovers will enjoy beautiful scenery and taste Provençal cuisine during their stay at this charming apartment located in Cairanne on the Cote du Rhône wine route. Only a short drive leads you to discover the Roman history of nearby Vaison-la-Romaine and Orange, or sample the flavors of neighboring villages including Gigondas, Vacqueras, Chateauneuf du Pape, and Beaumes de Venise.

Situated on a beautiful property, the peaceful apartment is within a few steps of the medieval village of Cairanne. Take a short walk down the stone stairs from the apartment, and you will be in modern Cairanne where you can explore the Caveau (wine cooperative), boulangerie, and several small shops or eat at the bar-cafe or two village restaurants.

The owners renovated this 500-square-foot apartment in distinctive Provençal style. The non-smoking apartment is in a separate building on the property with a separate entrance. Southern-facing windows provide abundant natural light with views of red-tiled rooftops and countryside. The combination living/dining room includes textured walls painted and finished with friezes. There are two two leather club chairs for relaxation after a day of sightseeing. The large picture window in the dining area offers panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards, perched villages, and to the southeast, Mont Ventoux and Les Dentelles de Montmirail.

The apartment also includes a well-equipped kitchenette, a bathroom with water closet and shower. The large bedroom has a queen-sized bed and armoire. The apartment furnishings are either fashionably modern or good-quality antiques. Maximum number of guests two. No children under age 8.

A village alley separates the apartment building from the pool and yard. Apartment guests have access to the yard where you can sit among roses and old olive trees. The apartment is rented alone only during the off-season, that is in the low season and mid season after the house has already been rented. Apartment guests may share the pool with house guests when open during the mid season. Parking is available in front of the apartment.

  • WE SPENT A WEEK IN THE APARTMENT ADJACENT TO THE HOUSE, AND FOUND IT CHARMING AND ROMANTIC. WHAT NEEDED TO BE MODERN (KITCHEN, BATH, HEAT) WAS MODERN AND WHAT NEEDED TO BE AUTHENTICALLY PROVENCAL WAS JUST AS PERFECT. WE OPENED OUR SHUTTERS TO A 180-DEGREE VIEW OF VINEYARDS, CYPRESS TREES AND WINDING ROADS THAT LED US TO WINE- TASTING EXPERIENCES, AND WE KEPT TIME BY THE CHURCH BELLS JUST ABOVE US IN THE TINY VILLAGE. WE SHOPPED AND COOKED LIKE LOCALS, THANKS TO THE BUTCHER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WALK AND THE BOULANGERIE A BLOCK FURTHER. TRUTH BE TOLD, WE HAD TO "DECIDE" EVERY MORNING WHETHER TO GO TOURING OR SIMPLY STAY AND ENJOY OUR COZY APARTMENT. (HMM. BIG CLUE THERE THAT I'M CALLING IT "OUR" APARTMENT!) WE'LL BE BACK!
