Fully Renovated Spring 2011!!
Spend your vacation in paradise—Paradise Valley, Montana! Diamond Bar Seven on the Yellowstone is a 3100 square foot home on the banks of Yellowstone River, with a prime location between Pine Creek and Mill Creek in the heart of Paradise Valley. The deck and walk-out basement patio offer stunning, perfectly-framed views of the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountain range towering over the peaceful river valley. You’ll enjoy the quiet pace of valley life. It’s only a 40-minute drive to Yellowstone National Park to the south, or 15 minutes north to the charming railroad town of Livingston.
The Diamond Bar Seven retreat includes five bedrooms and three bathrooms, two fireplaces & a wood stove in three spacious living areas (a comfortable dining room and family room upstairs and a large family room and entertainment center downstairs).
The two upstairs bedrooms feature brand new furniture and comfortable European-style bedding—one room with a king bed, the other with a queen. These two bedrooms share the large bathroom with walk-in shower, fluffy towels, and all the necessities to make you feel right at home. There is also another full bath upstairs beyond the dining room that features a bath tub and shower combination.
The fully-finished walk-out basement features three newly-furnished bedrooms: one with a king suite, one with a queen suite, and the one we call “The Bear Cubs’ Den” featuring three twin beds and a built-in bunk bed (5 twin beds total) all with new high-quality bedding and décor with a cozy family-friendly feel. The family room sofa also folds out to a queen-sized bed with extra bedding available in the linen closet (for a total of 15 sleeping spots--13 in beds, plus 2 on the sofa bed). To ensure every night of your visit is a good night, all mattresses are brand-new Atlantis Plush, each topped by soft, high-thread count sheets and a comforter, with plenty of blankets available to adjust to your comfort level.
When night falls and your outdoor activities are over, come inside for some evening entertainment. Both living areas include a flat screen TV with satellite television and DVD player as well as a CD player/radio on each floor. You’ll also find board games, card games, puzzles, and books to enjoy together.
Even when you’re “getting away from it all” you sometimes have to stay in touch, so we offer free domestic long distance calls on our house phone, and unlimited wireless high-speed internet access throughout the house.
The two eating areas at Diamond Bar Seven accommodate up to 16 adults. The formal dining room at the front of the house connects to the more casual breakfast area toward the back of the house via the newly-renovated kitchen. You can use the breakfast area for casual meals and make the dining area more formal, or seat the adults in one area with the kids in the other—you decide. The fully stocked dining room allows our renters to host memory-making meals during an unforgettable vacation.
We know part of the fun of renting a home for your vacation is cooking together, so Diamond Bar Seven’s kitchen features a stocked spice cupboard, specialty cooking tools, multiple pots and pans, and quality knives and utensils. There’s also a gas barbecue grill on the deck with a table to enjoy an outdoor meal while the sun sets over the Yellowstone. We have everything from sets of kid-friendly dishes to cloth napkins, table cloths, and candlesticks for a romantic meal—it’s your vacation, your way!
Diamond Bar Seven is a 30-acre ranch on a bend in the river with 1/2 of a mile of Yellowstone River bank, a dirt-road loop circling the property, and rolling hills dotted with apple trees. The landscaped yard around the rental house is fenced for your safety, with gates leading to the front (highway) side of the house and the back (river) side of the house.
We are here to help you make the most of your vacation, so we’ve tried to include many small conveniences for our guests. We have a high chair, a pack-n-play, and even a basket of bedtime stories for our youngest guests. When you arrive you’ll find plenty of information at your fingertips including local restaurant menus, city guides, boat/raft rental information, discount tickets and events calendars as well as local hiking trail maps and fishing information. The convenience and beauty of our river access can’t be over-emphasized. World-famous fly fishing happens right out the back door, or you can rent a boat or raft, head upstream and float/ fish your way right back home.
In addition to fishing and your Yellowstone National Park day trips, there’s plenty to do and see around Paradise Valley. Diamond Bar Seven is only 7 miles from the renowned Chico Hot Springs Resort with live music every weekend and an excellent restaurant . You can also drive 15 miles north into historic Livingston with art galleries, museums, and restaurants galore, as well as grocery stores and souvenir shops. If you’d like to explore the mountains, Pine Creek (10 miles NE) is a great place to start, with hiking trails suitable for all levels of hikers, as well as beautiful picnic areas along the creek and a one-mile hike to a gorgeous waterfall. Come discover the wonders of southwest Montana with all the comforts of home at Diamond Bar Seven on the Yellowstone.

We rented Diamond Bar Seven for 11 nights, and what an amazing experience! The property is perfect for relaxing, fishing, and just having fun. My family and I (consisted of 7 adults + 8 kids) were very impressed with the quality and amenities of the home...many times we found ourselves saying to each other, this feels like home! Sitting on the large deck of the home you have an amazing view of the range plus the Yellowstone River is less than 100 yards from the house (did I mention the fishing...we caught tons of trout every day!). The property is great for children...the owners have a super treehouse set up just below the backyard of the house. The capstone to our satisfaction of Diamond Bar Seven were the owners - they are great! They took many extra steps to ensure the property exceeded our expectations. We were very, very impressed with their hospitality. We have rented a number of properties throughout the world, and Diamond Bar Seven is our favorite.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Thanks for promptly sending back the deposit on the rental house. We returned home after spending more time in Canadian Rockies and the Glacier National Park in Montana. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the Diamond Bar Seven and the rest of the trip. We were four seniors, seven youngsters (25 to 35 age group) and two three year old twins. Below is the email from one of the youngsters which expresses our feelings of the trip. We will certainly recommend Diamond Bar Seven to all our relatives and friends. Thanks again for all your help. "This is a belated note to say a massive THANK YOU for such a magical week in the mountains of Montana. We loved every minute: the white water, the calm water, zipping across valleys, a Thai feast in Bozeman, the wildflowers, the pines, the mangoes for breakfast, the bear we saw, the mountain goats, the frisbee football, the stunning walk along the canyon, the grassy peak we climbed, the desi picnics, the brews and boils from under the earth, the stars and stories by the fire. And the rare chance for us all to spend time together."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us. Our family enjoyed every minute of our visit and every aspect of the house was even better than we expected. The home is beautiful, immaculate, and organized and the beds were amazing! It was so nice to come home from our daily adventures and enjoy a nice meal, beautiful views, a game or a movie, and fall into those cozy beds. Our kids loved the "Bear Cub Den" and movies or a story before bed every night. You truly do have all the comforts of home, plus the breathtaking beauty. Thank you for making our vacation so comfortable and memorable. You went out of your way, every step of the way, to make it pleasant and easy. We can't wait to come back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I reserved the ranch for our family reunion, 14 of us in all. We traveled from 4 different states, and WOW were we blown away! The owners went out of their way to be sure we had all the comforts of home and then some. The "bunk" room for the kids was incredible, as well as the set up downstairs. When you have 6 kids in a house it can get a bit crazy, and they had their own area to let it all out. Of all the things we did while visiting the area, just playing and exploring around the ranch was the highlight of the kids trip. An incredible time was had by all, and we hope to visit again! This property and the homeowners come HIGHLY recommended by us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.
Owner response: The DB7 ranch house is the perfect spot for a big family gathering. How do we know? Because we're a big family who loves to get together, so we've taken our own experience and put it to work for you. "Grown-ups" can play cards & board games upstairs or unwind on the deck while the kids enjoy a movie or their own games downstairs, making great cousin memories! Come see for yourself and book your Yellowstone coustry vacation today!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: Diamond Bar Seven Ranch is owned by the Melin Family. Tom & Rosalie Melin have Montana roots 5 generations deep and operate an insurance office in Livingston. They were thrilled to purchase part of the original family homestead and make it into a family retreat. They, along with their 5 children and 4 in-laws, bought and rennovated the property over the past 7 years in a true labor of love. They hope to share the beauty of their Montana home and Yellowstone Country with families from all over the US & the world.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
"The Ranch," as it is referred to by the grandchildren, is a place our family loves to gather. The grandkids have enjoyed their first fly fishing lessons and camping trips here. We love to float the river together in warm weather and gather at Chico Hot Springs when it's cold; most summer holidays we take hikes at Pine Creek and celebrate birthdays and holidays with picnics and barbecues at the pavillion on the river. The ranch is beautiful in every season and we are thankful to have such a lovely place to gather.
