We booked Enzo's apartment very quickly, when we decided at the last minute that an apartment would better suit us (a couple with a 21-month old toddler) than a hotel room. Enzo was extremely responsive and even offered us a discount for the booking. Enzo's representative met us at the apartment on time, so the check-in process was very easy. The flat is large and nicely furnished (the photos are accurate) with a lot of character, and it was great (with a napping baby) to have the bedrooms on opposite sides of the flat. There are lots of windows for fresh air and light, and they shut tightly, helping to minimize the noise of a busy city. The apartment was very well stocked with supplies such as toilet paper, garbage bags, laundry detergent and condiments for the kitchen. The location is lovely - so close to the Imperial Forum and the Colosseum - we walked everywhere except to the Vatican (we walked to the taxi stand near the Vittorio Emanuele monument, very easy). There are many cafes and restaurants nearby (we were able to avoid most of the touristy places by using the free wifi in the flat and doing our research first). We did have some issues with the cleanliness of the floor, but when we raised our concern with Enzo, he was extremely responsive and very apologetic. I do believe that this was a fluke - Enzo even sent me an email after our stay to explain how he has resolved the situation. He is extremely conscientious, and I would not hesitate renting from him again, either in Rome or in Paris/Istanbul.

This is a great apartment in a great location. Enzo is wonderful. He made sure he was at the apartment when we arrived and provided us with tips about the neighborhood. Although the apt is close to tourist spots with many tourists, the apartment gives you the sense of living among locals. I would stay here again!

Wonderful apartment. Let's start with the basics: the listing description is accurate and the pictures capture the apartment well. The furnishings are simple but clean, and everything was in good shape. The A/C units in the bedrooms work well (and we gave them a workout--we were in Rome during a heat wave that saw highs in the 90's almost every day of our visit). There is plenty of hot water, even for three showers in succession. The large, high-ceilinged rooms overlooking either Piazza del Grillo or the Imperial Forum were charming. The kitchen was well-equipped (though we only ate breakfast and snacks in the apt). There is a nice binder of information, including an instruction manual for the washer/dryer in English, which was very helpful. We were pleasantly surprised and very pleased by how quiet the apartment was. The antique elevator (seemingly '30's vintage) was very helpful for moving suitcases up and down, though other than that we generally used the stairs. One hint about the elevator: don't open the interior doors of the elevator when it is moving. I did that accidentally and a safety system shut down the elevator. I was trapped for about 15 minutes before it allowed me to resume my ride. We loved the location. The Monti is less touristy than the Centro Storico and has many charming osterias and trattorias within a 10 minute walk; La Bottega del Caffe in Piazza Santa Maria dei Monti had some of the best coffee we tasted in Rome and is only 5 minutes away. There are cab stands at the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia, each about a 10 minute walk (in opposite directions). Even the Spanish Steps are only about a 25 minute walk at a leisurely pace. Nearby we enjoyed dinner at Ai Tre Scalini and L'Asino d'Oro, as well as gelato at Ciuri Ciuri, near the Cavour Metropolitana stop. And don't miss the Trajan's Market museum right around the corner, if you would like to learn what the Imperial Forum once looked like. Enzo was highly responsive, friendly and easy to deal with. We would stay at this apartment again in a heartbeat.

Enzo's apartment in Rome is well maintained, clean, well managed, and has an absolutely superb location. I have encouraged my friends to stay there. Based on my experience staying in Enzo's apartment in Rome, I plan to rent his place in Paris later this year.

We recently stayed in Enzo's flat for nine nights. What a great unit and what a great location. It was amazing to look out the windows directly onto ruins, then be able to walk over a couple of blocks to have amazing gelato, espresso, and buy great produce for dinner. On the nights we didn't feel like cooking there was no shortage of dining options within a short walk. The good news is you can stop by the Colosseum or Forum and enjoy the night views on the way back. The unit is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. It is very spacious, the kitchen is well equipped, it is a bonus to have 2 showers, and also to have a washer/dryer. Enzo and his representatives were very professional. Thanks Enzo, and hopefully we will have a chance to try one of your flats in Paris!

Well maintained apt right in the heart of all the tourist attractions. It looked as advertised and was very clean and well maintained. Enzo gave us tips on where to eat and the safety of the area (very safe!) I was totally comfortable walking around after dark alone in that area. We stayed with our two young girls and there was plenty of room for them to roam around in the evenings. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and I recommend the property to everyone I know that goes to Rome. Really, really great. Thanks Enzo!

This is my second rental of one of Enzo's apartments. I have also rented his place in Istanbul. He does a masterful job of coordinating visits. Both places are superbly located. This apartment is on a relatively quiet area but close to everything. It was very well equipped and felt almost like a private home even though it is a full time rental. Furniture and beds are not 5 star - lots of stuff that seems like IKEA maybe but very adequate. One thing I really like is that he returned my deposit via Paypal the same day we left. Very professional and reliable.

Owner response: Just a quick note for future renters: most of the forniture are made to order and a lot of the major items are very expensive - the L shape divan, the 6 leather charir and the bed in the masterbedroom , all by the italian top brand Poltrona Frau; most of the lamps are Artemide and Flos design masterpieces...-. Yes, of course there are some items from Ikea - like some pottery and 2 lamps in the second bedroom usually used by children-, but definitivly this is not an Ikea Apartment! Excellent location walking distance to most sights except vatican city, close to subway and bus stops and one stop from train station. Very large for our family of 4 with very comfortable beds. The owner was very helpful and available all the time. One suggestion may be to replace the towels as they are all threadbare, kitchen and bathroom towels.

My husband and I spent six nights at the Palazzo Grillo Apartment on Oct. 27 - Nov. 1. We both have some walking problems so the location of this apartment allowed us to walk to most of the tourist spots in Rome - the Colliseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Victor Emmanuel Memorial, the Forum, Palatine Hill, etc. The information and pictures given in the description were accurate. The property was clean and well-maintained. Enzo was helpful in sending us information about taking a taxi from the airport, and he also called a taxi to take us to the port of Civitavecchia for us on the day of our departure. We had a great time in Rome, and the Palazzo Grillo added to that! We enjoyed living in an Italian neighborhood where we could shop in the markets and eat in the neighborhood restaurants.

We had the best time in Enzo's apartment! I was traveling with my mom and friend in the fall. The apartment is set on an idyllic street steps from the old Roman Forum and Coliseum. In fact, you can see some of the ruins from the windows of the apartment! The rest of the surrounding neighborhood is friendly maze of cute cobble stone streets and wonderful restaurants and shops. The apartment is very spacious, fully appointed and well decorated. The building itself it also very nice with an elevator, several secure doors and lovely art hanging in the halls. Enzo was friendly, accommodating and gave great recommendations of places to eat and see. I really can't recommend this place more! In my opinion, this place is perfect for couples, friends or a family on vacation. Why get a hotel when you can stay in a real Roman apartment!!!
