'Still Waters' is our newly decorated lakefront cabin directly situated on Lake Glenville located just 10 minutes from Cashiers, NC.
Enjoy the quaintness of a wood cabin that is perfect for a family of 4 or can be expanded to accommodate up to 8 with a separate guest suite on the lower level. Because we realized the need for flexibility to accommodate both smaller and larger parties, we have structured our rates based on your needs either with or without the guest suite. But please be assured the cabin will remain a private rental even when the guest suite isn't necessary.
Get the true cabin feeling the minute you walk through the front door where you enter the main part of the cabin. With newly refurbished wood floors and walls, this is the main gathering area of the house with a combined living room, dining room and kitchen with plenty of lounging room. The deck runs the length of the house with an open area on each end and a screened area with a large outdoor dining table in the center.
The kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, including a side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and gas burning stove. The countertops are solid surface, including the island with enough room for meal preparation and 2 barstools for those who prefer to watch. And across the room is a large dining room table with enough seating for everyone on both levels. The kitchen has been well equipped with new cookware and service ware for indoor or outdoor dining.
The living room section of the main living area has a couch and 2 chairs arranged to watch the big screen TV above the wood burning fireplace. And building a fire is a snap with the gas starter.
The main level includes 2 bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed, newly remodeled bathroom with a walk-in shower and doors leading to a section of the main level deck with an open sitting area. The second bedroom offers two twin beds, newly remodeled private bathroom with tub and shower combination and also has doors leading to its own section of open deck. Both bedrooms have a TV with a Blu ray DVD player and new carpet to help with chilly mornings.
In case you need more room, our cabin has extra room for your party to expand. Downstairs is a private guest suite accessed from the main deck and composed of 3 rooms. The first we officially call a sleeping area (because there isn't a built in closet), with a queen bedroom set. In the middle is a full bathroom with a shower/tub combination. The third room has been designed to be a sitting room complete with a sofa sleeper, an armoire to hang clothes and a refrigerator. Both the sleeping area and sitting room will have a flat screen TV with a Blu Ray DVD player. In addition to all new furniture, the guest suite also has all new paint and carpet. It is also part of the new central heat and air conditioning system with its own controls.
The cabin has a washer and dryer and is stocked with all bed and bath linens, including beach towels. There will be a total of 5 flat screen TV's throughout, each with a full DirectTV package including all of the movie channels. Since some cell phones do not always have great service in the mountains, we do offer free domestic long service and WiFi to stay connected.
Enjoy the private boat dock with chairs to sit back and relax. Don’t have a boat? We are located next to the only public marina on Lake Glenville offering boat rentals.
We are pet friendly and will allow up to two dogs with a max of 40 pounds each with prior approval. There is a $150.00 non-refundable fee per pet (plus applicable sales taxes).

My family and I recently returned from a wonderful stay at Still Waters and we cannot say enough about this beautiful place. So peaceful and secluded on Glenville Lake. Our two children (22 and 20) brought along 2 of their friends and the accommodations were great for all. Two beautiful bedrooms each with baths upstairs and a guest suite downstairs with its own entrance from the decking at the back of the house. We spent a lot of time at the house relaxing with wonderful fires while watching football and playing board games. We took day trips to Cashiers, Highlands and Sapphire Valley which are all close. Also we spent a whole day in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate and the shops at Biltmore Village ~ beautiful. The cabin is decorated beautifully with all the cabin coziness and the furnishings are all up to date with everything needed in the kitchen to prepare meals. The pictures online are not deceiving at all . . . looks just like that. There are also some wonderful restaurants in nearby towns. It was a joy to work with Kim by email to prepare us for our stay there ~ I felt like I knew her :) Thank you, Kim, for sharing your beautiful place and ringing in the New Year! This year, my boyfriend & I decided to take our 2 dogs and get away from the stresses of everyday life for the Thanksgiving Holiday. This lakefront mountain home was the perfect escape for us.The owners of the house were very accomodating and quickly answered any questions we had about the house/things to do. The cabin is beautiful and immaculate. Every room of the house has a lakefront view that is simply breathtaking. We spent our mornings eating breakfast overlooking the lake, our afternoons hiking nearby trails and mountains and our evenings at delightful restaurants/bars in the charming town of Highlands. After our day was over we would come back to the cabin and enjoy quality time by the fire. I think this cabin is a little piece of Heaven and we couldn't have picked a better vacation spot. Often times our getaways turn into 'trips' where we come home more exhuasted than when we left. However, this was a true vacation filled with rejuvenation, relaxation and reconnecting. We are already planning our next trip back. We would give this cabin on Lake Glenville 2 thumbs up and I think I speak for our dogs when I say they would also give it 2 paws up!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were in dire need of a vacation and this was PERFECT! It was wonderful to be back in the Glenville area especially in glorious fall, and we did fall in love with the cabin as soon as we entered it. The view of the lake was beautiful and everything inside was new and immaculate. We used the grill, made a fire every night, rented a pontoon boat...we also went to many waterfalls, hiked, shopped and dined. Our favorite restaurants were the Log Cabin, Paoletti, Ugly Dog Pub to name a few. You can't go wrong with dining in Highlands. We had a great vacation and were so comfortable in the cabin and didn't want to leave. Thank you Kim, you thought of everything a guest could want. Can't wait to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay was perfect! The leave season was off to a beautiful start. Loved sitting on the back porch, staring out to the lake and all the lovely shades of leaves on the trees. The house was so homey and comfortable. Everything we could have possibly needed was in the kitchen, all high quality. We made some wonderful meals. All the bed and towel linens throughout the house were top notch. Kim was so great to work with. She made us feel right at home and provided any/all information we would need while at the house. Our family had a blast; we can’t wait to come back again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A perfect location for a girls weekend getaway. The house was amazing. Everything we needed with alot of extra special touches. We loved the screened porch overlooking the lake where we relaxed after a day of shopping in Highlands. The fireplace (and the wood on the porch) was great as the day cooled off. Kim was great to work with and answered e-mails promptly. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.
