Mustang Island Beach Club condo description
Come get away from it all and enjoy this pet-friendly, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo that was completely renovated in June 2011. Both bedrooms have king-size beds. The master bath has custom tile, a new sink/vanity, and a bathtub with shower. The second bath has a tiled walk-in shower and a full-size washer and dryer in the closet.
The family room features an overstuffed couch and chair, a game table for the kids, cable television, a VCR/DVD player, and a separate dining area. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook your catch of the day and includes a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, and all the small appliances you will need. Cookware, glasses, dishes, and utensils are included.
Both bedrooms and the living area open onto a spacious balcony. This area is perfect for enjoying the gentle gulf breezes while watching the sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico or ending the day with a tropical drink.
The small, quiet complex has a swimming pool, outside shower, fish cleaning station, and a private beach road with a parking area and boardwalk to the beach. There is a game room open 24/7 with ping pong, foosball, pool, and vending machines.
The Arnold Palmer-designed Newport Dunes Golf Club is a five-minute drive away. This daily-fee course has been featured in Golf Digest and is a links-style course. Downtown Port Aransas is 10 minutes away. Spend an afternoon there and enjoy shopping with local merchants, fine dining, dolphin-watch cruises, fishing charters, birding, and other activities. There is also a grocery store and pharmacy in town for your convenience.
Many visitors take the 30-minute drive into Corpus Christi to see the Texas State Aquarium or tour the U.S.S. Lexington. Large grocery stores, major retailers, and movie theaters are located along South Padre Island Drive.
While summer is the busiest season, the island is a great place to visit year-round. The ocean is generally warm enough for swimming from March through early November. Many people come in the spring and fall to enjoy Sand Fest (a major sandcastle building contest in April) and the numerous local fishing tournaments. Rental rates are generally lower during these times and the area is less crowded for those who are looking for a more private getaway. Each winter, thousands of "Winter Texans" flock to the island from colder climates to enjoy the mild temperatures. Monthly rentals at competitive rates are available from December through February.
The condo and the complex are pet-friendly. Please inquire about pet policies when you make your reservation. All linens, paper products, and usual supplies are included.

Had an amazing time!
Had an amazing time!
We stayed at this condo for about 4 days in June. The condo was the perfect size for two couples and two dogs. It was very nicely decorated and stocked with items you would need for your stay. The balcony is also HUGE, which was great having 2 dogs. We could leave them outside after being on the beach to dry off. The railing was a perfect size where my smaller dog (a Corgi) couldn't fit his head through the bars and be in danger of possibly falling. The people working the office were very nice and informative. There was going to be some work on one of the windows upstairs from us and they emailed us and comped us way before we even got there. The entire condo complex was very quiet and relaxing. Not many people in the pool or milling about. We did meet some people there, but they were very nice and everyone seemed to pretty much keep to themselves. The only wish that I'd have for this condo would be that they would smooth out the path to the beach. The walk to the beach isn't bad, but carrying a bunch of stuff and leading two excited dogs made me a little worried about turning an ankle. tl;dr PROS: quiet, nice people working there, HUGE balcony, nicely decorated, relaxing, good price, assigned parking right by your room, plenty of bath towels, they allow dogs! CONS: if you have young children, are elderly, or disabled, the walk to the beach boardwalk might not be for you - you can drive to it, but there are many pot holes

Manager response: Thanks for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. As a pet owner (lab and border collie), we strive to be pet friendly and understand that dogs are part of the family. I'm sorry that you found the beach access road to be rough. We have it smoothed out every few months, but we had a great deal of rain recently and haven't had the chance to have that work done. It will be smoothed again in the next few weeks. I also appreciate your willingness to allow us to replace the window above your unit during you stay. We put a high premium on keeping the place maintained, and sometimes we have no choice but to make repairs while guests are present--especially during the busy season. Thanks again, and we hope you'll visit us again.
Nice, quiet property
Nice, quiet property
I stayed in this unit in late June and we had a wonderful time. The condo was recently renovated (the custom bathrooms are especially nice), very clean, and comfortable. We really enjoyed the large deck to watch the sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico. Another benefit is that the complex is small and quiet. That made it easy to relax. The property staff was great and I look forward to returning next year. In my experience, this in the best deal for under $200 a night on the island.

Year Purchased: 2011
Why Mustang Island Beach Club:
We have owned another condo in the complex for 11 years. We purchased this unit in February 2011 and completely remodeled it. My family has vacationed along the Texas coast since the 1960 and we have great memories of our annual trip. We visit the property at least once a month and consider it our home away from home.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We have three dogs and love the fact that each unit opens directly to the property grounds (i.e. no 7 am trips down the elevator and through a hotel lobby with the dogs). The dogs enjoy their daily walk down the beach road and over the boardwalk to the ocean. In addition, the property is small and quiet. It's not unusual to have the pool all to yourself.
