We all--us, children and grandchildren--love this spacious, welcoming house. This is a perfect location for beach lovers (with unbelievable privacy) and enough room inside for everyone to relax or even enjoy a cloudy day. The house is an easy drive to Provincetown or Wellfleet and both the owner and the caretaker are responsive and very helpful to the smallest or largest requests. We love this house and will be coming for the next 20 years!

this house is in a great location and the easy access to the beach is wonderful. That said, we found so many things that disappointed us that we won't stay again. There were no working coffee pots, for example. One that worked the very first day was held together with a rubber band and a paper clip, somehow, so when we went to wash it, it all fell apart. We were briefly hopeful when we found some more pots, including a French press, above the fridge, but they didn't work either. If you stay here, bring your own coffee pot. One of the decks was sort of roped off, due to a broken railing. There were several grills pushed off behind one side of the house. There was not enough bedding; while bedding was laid out, mostly, several of the beds did not include pillowcases. The television in the upstairs "master" bedroom did not work. The refrigerator had not been cleaned, as far as we could tell. We found a dead mouse in the basement. All in all, it was just okay. I'd rather spend the money on a house that is a little less dingy and a little more comfortable.

Owner response: It is hard to know how to respond to this review, because most of our tenants love our house, and comment favorably on its unique architectural design, furnishings, abundant space, and stunning views and location. To spare our guests the inconvenience of an appliance malfunctioning , we keep a backup supply of small appliances in case any should break. These tenants informed our maintenaince man that neither of the two coffee units were working and he returned to the house to check them out. He found them working fine, as they had been before and after these tenants were in the house. He found no rubber bands or paper clips and we recovered none in the kitchen when we returned to the house afterwards. None of our 3 decks were, or have ever been, roped off. We believe the reviewer is referring to a 1 ½ foot potting shelf outside the family room sliding glass windows. We had designer steel girder wires installed below waist level on the outside of the wall of sliding windows that open on the potting shelf to prevent toddlers from getting out on the potting shelf in the event the screens were mistakenly unlocked. The girder wires fit the architecture of the house and provide an extra safety feature for tenants with children. The potting shelf is not designed for ordinary use and it is hard to imagine why anyone would want to stand on a 1 ½ foot wide ledge with their backs against a wall of plate glass windows instead of enjoying one of the ample decks. Linens, including pillow cases, were provided for all our 16 beds for these guests, as they always are. We put them out ourselves and found 5 unused pillow cases on several dressers when we returned after their stay. Our cleaner, who is often praised by our guests for his diligence, swears that he cleaned the refrigerator very carefully. He says these tenants were upset because we had left a few jars of condiments on the refrigerator door panel. We had done so as a courtesy, because most tenants appreciate having a supply of condiments, like mustard and ketchup, when they are staying a short time. Since these tenants only contacted our maintenance man once, and only about the coffee pot, we had no opportunity to address any of their other problems.

This Truro home is so lovely that we have spent three weeks there over the last two years! The home is light, bright and spacious with truly spectacular, panoramic western views across Cape Cod Bay. The beach is wonderfully and surprisingly deserted; the water is relatively calm and great for swimming. Sipping wine and nibbling on appetizers while admiring the sunset across the water was the perfect way to end the day. And as a special treat, when the sun dips below the horizon you are then greeted with the twinkling lights of Provincetown! The constant breeze off the bay pouring through the over-sized windows was reminiscent of nights spent at anchor on a sailboat...except (and this is a big except) with all the creature comforts at our fingertips! The kitchen is well-equipped and the beds are simple and comfortable. The floor plan allows for a separation of space so that even when the house is full of people you enjoy a sense of privacy and can "get away" by yourself. While we had all kinds of plans to explore the outer Cape during our stay, the house and surroundings proved so alluring that none of us left this self-contained paradise all week! Ernie, the owner is a true gentleman, and he was very responsive when we had some challenges with our internet connection.

This amazing beachfront property was ideal for our extended family. The house was cleaned and ready for our arrival for our one week stay last June. The spaciousness of the house with its three separate bedroom areas makes it ideal for two or, as in our case, three families. The new kitchen with its view of the Bay and P-town is a fabulous place to prepare meals while interacting with family members in the family room or game area. The large deck and proximity of the beach via stairs a stone’s throw from the house received rave reviews from everyone in our party. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with from the time we inquired about the property until we left to return home. We highly recommend this property and would love to visit again.

The house photo is misleading as in fact the house has been moved back, away from the cliff as a result of beach erosion. The house is tired and in need of updating/repair--for example: the kitchen frig essentially did not work despite having called the property manager and being advised that "we had too much in the frig"??...the outdoor grill had no propane...when the propane was delivered and connected to the grill, it leaked gas rendering the grill un-useable... the property manager promptly replaced the grill...a bathroom faucet handle sheered off and was not attended to...with only one dishwasher and one washer and drier. this house has infrastructure to support 8 people at most. The grounds are not maintained which is a shame as a nice backyard is a possibility with a bit of care. The television in the master bedroom was nonfunctional. A lot of money and not a lot of value.

Owner response: Almost everyone who visits our Truro beach home describes it as stunningly beautiful, with gorgeous vistas; we have many repeat clients. This reviewer usually rents houses twice the size of ours in places like the Hamptons for his 30 person group. Our house sleeps 16. Not surprisingly, our “infrastructure” fell short of his expectations. The house is not “tired.” The furniture is high-end and mostly new. Some sofas are 12-months old Restoration Hardware; others are spotless leather. The dining table is an antique library table that is neither tired nor in need of repair. The kitchen was completely renovated and updated with new cabinets and appliances in 2011. We understand it is frustrating when appliances break and strive to prevent this by regular maintenance. We respond as quickly as possible to unexpected problems. The outdoor grill broke during this tenant’s usage, but we replaced it the same day. The 18mo old fridge loaded to capacity didn’t cool everything immediately. We sent the first available technician, and provided the tenant with another fridge downstairs. The problem was that someone in his group had tampered with the settings. The broken faucet is part of a floating vanity and not a stock item that is quickly replaced, but there is a second functioning basin right next to it. The house has 3 TVs, including a new 55” Samsung in the living room. A new 42” flat TV in the master bedroom had a reception problem that could have been fixed with a call to the cable provider number on the unit. The yard is professionally landscaped with beach grass and native plantings. It is not a suburban lawn, because that is not the aesthetic we have chosen. We have a gardener. The house is on the water; it is beachfront property. There are dramatic views of Cape Cod Bay and the hook of the Cape from almost every window: You walk from the house, across the yard, down stairs to the beach. The photos are accurate. For all his complaints, this tenant told us, when we called him to understand better the bases of his review: “Don’t get me wrong. We had a wonderful time at your beach house.” This is what we hope all our quests will say. We try to do our part by providing a beautiful, well-kept, tastefully appointed home that is well-cared for by a team of thoughtful maintenance and repair people who typically respond to problems quickly and effectively. We regret that this reviewer was not satisfied with our good faith efforts.

We had 15 people stay in this house last weekend, despite a bad string of weather we really enjoyed the space of this house. The beach is beautiful and very private, everyone had their own space which I think is necessary when traveling with a large group. Kitchen and living area is large, views are spectacular, only a 10-15 min ride to Provincetown. Looking to book next summer.

Our group of a dozen rented this home for our annual retreat. This house has major "wow" factor....the views are spectacular, the beach a short walk down the stairs, and the sunsets to die for! Very easy to find private space, or for the whole group to gather on the deck, at the dining table, or sprawled about in either of the living areas. Owner was very responsive to our questions. The area is quiet and peaceful, and is only a short drive to P-town. Couple of area recommendations: Savory/Sweet Escape...a very short drive for deliciousness. Jimmy's HideAway in Ptown for a fabulous dinner. I could go on...but would definately recommend the house, and the location!

Just a wonderful vacation spot. The house is airy and modern, great for a large amount of people, but it worked for just the two of us and our dog. The beach was clean, private and close. It's secluded, but Ptown restaurants are 10 minutes away. Can't wait to go back.

Every room has a water view. The amenities are top-notch. The layout perfect for several families At night, the Provincetown lights twinkle in the distance.
