This house is even better than described! With 2 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs (for the parents), our family of 5 was very comfortable and had more than enough room. We stayed her before the new renovation and the owners have improved what was already a very comfortable and attractive house! Everything a family needs is there, the kitchen is very well equipped. We appreciated the sunny views from the living room (lots of windows!), the skylight in the master bedroom and the toasty fireplace! The children loved the long private driveway for playing in the snow and the hill next door. The location of the house in a cul de sac is perfect. Both times we stayed were in the winter and even with lots of snow it was easily accessible thanks to the attentive snow removal service. The lake is just a few minutes drive away, a shopping center with supermarket is also only about a 5 minute drive but you would never know it from the very private surroundings of the house nestled in the pines! If you need a good solid and fast internet connection (as I do), the wifi is very good.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We spent Christmas there this year and loved it. The house slept 6 adults and 2 kids comfortably and had nice linens and bedding. The owner was so wonderful to work with. I have rented many houses in Tahoe over the years and this will be the first time i would rebook a house. The house backs to a large open mountainside which we built a great sled hill and did snow shoeing. I can't wait to rent in the summer and sit out on the deck.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This cozy mountain cabin provided our family a very comfortable vacation getaway to the beautiful mountains of North Lake Tahoe. The owner was very thoughtful and attentive to details, and was readily available to answer any questions we had. We even had a (pleasant) surprise snowstorm, and the management company was very quick to get someone up there to plow us out, even though the winter snow removal service hadn't started yet. We have other family in the area and will definitely be looking to rent this house again when planning anther visit.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers.

My husband and I spent 2 wks here in Sept. This is an extremely peaceful, beautiful setting. We were near all of our favorite things...hiking, kayaking, golf, tennis, yoga and just enjoying the views and sounds from out mountain retreat! We look forward to returning and would not hesitate to recommend this to any of our friends and family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

When our son graduated from UNR, we booked this home for our week-long stay. It was perfect for our family of four. The home is well equipped and had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. The owners were very attentive and helpful with the few questions we had. The home is located in a beautiful wooded area that offers the fresh and delightful scent of the pines. Close to all the Lake Tahoe activities, we hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail as well as ventured onto a mountain trail that took us to secluded waterfalls and ponds. The wild flowers were amazing! We also enjoyed shopping and eating out in Incline Village where we found lots of little shops to explore. Back at the house, we relaxed and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings. We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, clean and comfortable mountain home in the Lake Tahoe area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1989
About the owner: I am a retired middle school teacher and my husband is a retired rancher now doing development consulting. We like traveling, hiking, swimming, golf, tennis and the ocean. Hawaii is a lovely place to live, but we travel to our Lake Tahoe home every chance we get; it is our peaceful getaway.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We bought this home because we love the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Lake Tahoe. It is 30 minutes from the Reno Airport and 5 minutes from the lake.
We have been vacationing here with our children and friends for years. Every Spring Break we ski and snowboard and Summers we hike, river raft, play tennis, play at the lake, eat ice cream cones, and play miniature golf.
Now we we enjoy all these activities with our grandkids. Last Winter they learned to ski at Diamond Peak and for the past 3 summers have attended IVGID's 'Camp Extreme.'
When we are both retired we plan to live part time here and part time in Hawaii.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Summer or Winter, the Lake Tahoe area is glorious. In the Summer you can hike, swim, play golf or tennis, and enjoy all the outdoor pursuits the lake has to offer. In the winter the skiing and winter sports are fabulous. Diamond Peak ski area is just minutes from the house and there are also many other ski areas close by, including North Star and Alpine Meadows, .
Year round you can enjoy wonderful restaurants and many unique and fun shopping opportunities. And of course there are the casinos for those who like to gamble.
In the mornings we like to sit on the porch with our coffee or tea surrounded by the forest and enjoy the smell of pine trees and the azure blue sky.
Our favorite hike is near Incline Peek through the forest to a lovely waterfall.
In the Winter our children and grandchildren build 'luge' runs and jumps in the yard and ride through the snow on their snowboards and tubes.
