This was a fabulous house to rent! The pool area is great. We paid an extra $100 for pool heat & were so glad we did. We got a lot of use out of the pool. The view out to the ocean was a bonus. We used the kayaks & the bikes. sombrero beach down the road is a wonderful beach to hang out at. I would say this is a 6 person house. We had 2 people in the living room but the sofa bed was too uncomfortable for them. Luckily I had a relative nearby who let us borrow his airbed & that worked out better.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so happy you had a great time in Marathon. While we can legally have 8 guests, I agree that the house is best suited for not more than 6 adults. We also appreciate the feedback on the sofa bed. We are headed to Marathon this weekend and cannot wait! Corinne and Jeff Johnson

This is a cozy and comfortable stay in the middle of one of the most beautitul areas in the nation. After a fun-filled day in Miami or Key West, which is just a short drive away, come back and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing dip in the pool or just relax in the AC and watch tv. You can also enjoy a relaxing day at Sombrero Beach, the most beautiful beach in the keys, that is only a short walk from this great property. It's also close to a lot of local activities like fishing, sight-seeing, shopping, and dining at many of the great local restaurants in Marathon. Spend a day at sea fishing and sunning. Take your catch of the day to any of the local restaurants to prepare for you. Or you may choose to prepare your own meals at home using the fully equipped kitchen. There are many things to offer all kinds of people from those who seek adventure to those who just need to relax and do nothing. It was extremely clean. It was equipped with all the necessities that you would expect from a hotel like towels, linens, soap, shampoo, etc. There is washer/dryer availabe for use if necessary as well. Plenty of room for 6-8 people to stay comfortably. This is a perfect getaway for people of all ages and personalities. It will be a vacation that is hard to top!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: When not in Marathon, we live in Little Rock, Ar. We love the keys and bought this house instead of a boat! We are still looking for the right boat, but are so glad we found the right house! We love sitting in the pool (it has ledges all around) listening to Jimmy Buffet. Sombrero Beach is wonderful and just a short walk away. It is quiet and not crowded.
Why the Owner Chose Marathon:
We have rented homes throughout the Keys and like the central location Marathon.
Marathon has the feel of the Keys, but also has the conveniences of home.
