If you enjoy the discovery of special out of the way places, welcome to our vacation cottage in the charming hamlet of Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. This sunny, five-acre country farm compound boasts spectacular views of the harbor and distant islands, pastures and gardens, farm animals and surrounding hillsides.
Our one bedroom Carriage House cottage is hand-crafted from island timbers and exudes a feeling of warmth and comfort. Furnished from our collection of friendly antiques and collectibles, you're sure to enjoy the views from the window seat, soaking in the clawfoot bathtub, or lounging in an Adirondack chair on our spacious deck.
Just steps away yet private, an additional bedroom suite is available in the adjacent Boat Shed. This favorite rustic, yet cozy accommodation has double bed, sitting area, bath with popular open-air shower, and its own sunny deck with water and garden views.There are no cooking facilities. Available as a second bedroom with the Carriage House or Bunk House.
For those who'd like to have a larger gathering of friends or family, we can sleep an additional 4 people in our Bunk House. Equally charming with large, covered wrap around deck area, comfortable rope hammock, and ample outdoor living space. Cookhouse-style kitchen and the same wonderful views shared by the rest of the property. A summer favorite!
Many of our guests enjoy driving golf balls on our 'farm range' or gathering around the rock firepit for an evening fire. Our hens are happy to provide you with fresh eggs, and you're free to pick fresh herbs from the garden.

I am hesitant to tell you how wonderful it is...kind of want to keep it a secret. . This is a fabulous and charming property with great views and privacy. As a family we have stayed at the cottage and boat house. We returned as an empty nester couple to the cottage. Our adult daughter has stayed as well. Our hosts Blake and her husband are helpful and informative. The photos can't quite capture the beauty, comfort and restful character of the property. I would describe it as a tasteful artful décor, in a comfortable relaxed, yet pampered way. The cottage is in a special location on Orcas Island, one of the finest. We walked to the harbor, the nearby restaurant and around the countryside. Just a little slice of heaven. Stay, you will remember it always.

We stayed in the Boat Shed for 3 nights. The small space was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed the coziness, the location, and the tasteful furnishings. The grounds are beautiful with a view toward Deer Harbor. Thank you!!

We stayed in the cottage, which is a well-appointed restored farm building. Nicely laid out, with a bedroom and room bath on the upper lever, living room and kitchen below. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the deck with a beer watching the sunset with a little view of the harbor was heavenly. The owners were friendly and helpful. We loved their big dog and flock of gorgeous chickens. It was a treat for us to wake up to the rooster crowing, but perhaps not everyone would love that on vacation.
