Rare westerly up-close beachfront near the quaint village of Eastsound for an easy vacation or getaway.

With a premier westside Orcas Island waterfront location, SunBright Le Reve is a gem in the San Juan Islands. The home features waterfront living in a spectacular setting with beach access, a mooring buoy, and privacy - yet is only a four minute drive to Eastsound, a picturesque village at the end of a fjord that is perhaps the most charming seaside village in the entire San Juan Islands chain.

The custom Northwest style single-level home sits directly at the water's edge and is nestled among majestic evergreen trees and enjoys a sunny western exposure. The location is ideal; on a dead-end private road close to West Beach, Camp Orkila, and Eastsound for convenient access to quality shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. An expansive shoreline and private beach stairs assures hours of beach exploration with plenty of tide pools teeming with marine life at low tide.

Barbecue with a quality Weber grill and dine at the water's edge with 180-degree forever views extending from the San Juan islands and Canadian Gulf islands all the way to Vancouver, Canada. Gaze at many interesting ships as they pass by in the distance along the US and Canadian border.

Bring your own boat and tie to our mooring buoy or rent kayaks in town and explore our fascinating bay with its rich marine and bird activity. Even from the house, seals and otters are frequently seen splashing and in summers 2021-24 there were numerous Orca sightings directly from our oceanside deck. Our bay is known locally as a prime crabbing and fishing destination and is one of the most popular kayaking spots on Orcas due to the abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery.

The quality of light at SunBright Le Reve is very special. Sunlight pours into this home throughout the entire day, culminating in a tremendous glistening effect near sunset. Enjoy an evening glass of wine and delight in the golden flickers of light "dancing" around the living room. Bake a pie with apples, pears or plums from one of the mature fruit trees on the property. Then enjoy your homemade dessert in a setting that is private and peaceful. The salt air, shimmering sun and spectacular sunsets surrounded by the majestic Orcas forests makes for a magical setting for your vacation or weekend getaway.

Sunbright le reve definitely lives up to its name—the home truly is a dream, from its location on Orcas Island to its landscaping to all of its creature comforts inside and out. You can spend hours relaxing on the back deck and viewing the San Juan Islands and the comings and goings of sea life. We saw lots of otters and a family of bald eagles. Additionally, Anneli is a gracious and accommodating host. We are planning on returning.

This home was incredible and beautiful and easy to figure out!! We had an amazing relaxing getaway for a few days. We have a two year old and this place was perfect for her with the little play house and we could watch the bald eagles and seals from out on the deck with the view while she napped. We even had a kayak delivered (which was super convenient!) and went out on the water from the house on it. Very well equipped kitchen and bathrooms and the laundry machine was great too. Would absolutely recommend and stay there again!

Amazing place!

We loved our stay on Orcas. This house was beautiful. Three bedrooms, with one bedroom having a queen and two twin beds. Having dinner on the deck was magical, and my 3 year old loved the play house. The house is 5 minutes from Eastsound. It was perfectly locater to explore the whole island. Already dreaming of going back.

SunBright Le Reve has been a labor of love for many years with significant annual improvements to refine the home and property for our guests. We have truly enjoyed sharing our beach home to families throughout the United States.


Why they chose this property

The close proximity to the sweet village of Eastsound was important to us. We love to do quick trips into town for things like a latte or to buy last minute fresh ingredients for an evening meal. The Saturday Farmer's Market on the Village Green in town is delightful and has locally grown produce - and you will find the true spirit of Orcas there too.

What makes this property unique

The quality of light at SunBright Le Reve is special. Sunlight pours into the home throughout the entire day - culminating in a tremendous glistening effect near sunset. We love to have evening meals at home for this reason and our family almost always uses the deck dining table where this glistening effect appears as sun rays "dancing" around the house and living/great room. For us this is a glorious experience. The majestic evergreens and hilly/mountainous terrain so unique to Orcas Island means many homes here do not benefit from this quality of light.

SunBright's oceanside deck is close to the water's edge for abundant marine and wildlife viewing..... seals and sea otters are frequently seen splashing and in recent years there have been increasing Orca sightings directly from the deck. Our bay is one of the most popular kayaking, fishing and crabbing destinations on Orcas island.
