We had a fantastic time staying in this condo. It has a great location, close walk to pool, close to the beach, and great views of the beach. The photos portray this condo very well. It was clean, well maintained and updated. It offered everything we needed. Barbara was very helpful in answering the questions we had. I would for sure recommend this property, and hope to get back again next year. Thanks so much!!!

Home; only better! If I click the heels of my flip flops together 3 times and whisper, "there's no place like Sanibel", can I go back? The moment you unlock the door to this lovely unit you feel welcomed and at home. Head straight to the lanai and your senses are overwhelmed. The sight of the Gulf, the sound of the surf, the smell of salty air, the touch of the breeze and THE TASTE OF THE GOOD LIFE! A good life is what you will live while visiting Sanibel and staying here in Loggerhead Cay! This unit has all the comforts of home and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked, the dining and living area is open and comfortable, the bedrooms are large with top of the line mattresses, the bathrooms are spacious and clean, but most of all, the view is where dreams are born. Be sure and rent a boat for the day from Adventures in Paradise. They were friendly and helpful. Dinner at Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille is a MUST. The BEST food on the Island! Don't be surprised if you get to meet the lovely owner. If your idea of Paradise is relaxing on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, swimming with manatees and dolphins, fishing for snook and mangrove snapper, biking to a world famous lighthouse, discovering prized shells, dining on delicious seafood, and retiring for the day in a beautiful condo, well....this place is for you! Click, Click, Click....There's no place like Sanibel.

We have been coming to this unit for the past 6 years. The minute you drive on the island, it feels like you are stepping into another world leaving your troubles behind. No red lights or the hustle bustle of your everyday world. The decor and layout of the condo is spacious and tastfully decorated. We love that it has a great visual of the pool and beach from the lanai and the sound of the waves are so relaxing. The bikes and movies are a great added bonus. One our favorite things to do when we are there is to head down to Captiva (approximately 11 miles) for a breath taking day at the beach. The waves are fun to body surf and it just has an overall tropical feel. Hint, hint - be sure and go early because the parking is limited. We would recommend this unit to families or couples of all ages. If you like to bike, you couldn't ask for a safer more scenic place. It's a true paradise you certainly won't be disappointed. We can't wait for our next vacation in May of 2012.

Family Spring Break in Sanibel

My husband, adult children, and young grandchildren enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break on Sanibel, calling Loggerhead Cay our home away from home for the week. The weather was perfect with a little storm one day and sunshine the rest of the week. We didn't mind the storm because it made for better shelling the next morning. The live shells, sting rays, and dolphins were an educational introduction to marine biology for all of us. What an amazing sight to see the live shells feeding at low tide in the evening, and the sting rays and dolphins swimming close to shore during the day! Although the view from the balcony was nice and we spent a lot of time out there, the sunrise is best seen from the beach. Be careful walking to the beach in the morning, though. People like to dig huge holes in the sand and not fill them up. The unit itself was very nice. We like the open floor plan and there was plenty of room for all of us. There were a couple of little things that need some attention, but I pointed them out to the people at Sanibel Holiday, and I'm sure the owners will address the minor concerns. This is a beautiful unit (and I'm picky!). To be honest, we left there feeling Loggerhead Cay and Sanibel weren't especially kid-friendly. We left sandy flip flops outside the door and were told we couldn't leave anything in the entry way. My husband and the grandkids were playing catch with a tennis ball in the courtyard and were told they were being too loud. (Sound echoes off the buildings in the courtyard.) The residents on the island also seemed a little grumpy. So be advised. Overall, it was a great week. I would definitely stay here again if we didn't take children with us.
Owner response:So glad you had an enjoyable vacation at our condo. We try our best to keep it in 1st class condition and appreciate your letting us know about the torn umbrella and missing skim board. They have since been replaced. We hope you will choose to return sometime in the future. Thanking you in advance for choosing our condo for your vacation. Odie & Barbara Barnes

My two friends and I spent a wonderful week here during the 1st week of March. Since we had never been in this area previously, we were a bit apprehensive, but shouldn't have been! The condo was so great: clean, big, lovely, beautiful view and easy access to beach and pool. The surrounding grounds were a treat for the eyes. The area was easy to get around and we enjoyed the local restaurants (especially Blue Giraffe, Over Easy Cafe and the restaurant/outside bar two units down on the beach - we could walk there!). We also shopped locally and used the condo's kitchen for lazy breakfasts and quick lunches. All in all, the Barnes' condo was a gracious gift to 3 ladies looking for a most relaxing, sunny vacation from the relentless Buffalo winter. Many, many thanks for this lovely retreat!

The condo was exactly how portrayed on the website. It was very clean, attractive and very well equiped. The owner responded quickly to any of my questions. We hope to return next year. My only concern was that we didn't have more time to try more of the great restaurants. We'd recommend Doc Ford's, The Stone Crab, and the Island Cow. We were disappointed that when we went to Ding Darling Refuge it was closed on a Friday and that was our last day there so it will give us something to look forward to next year. I highly recommend the condo.

Just spent 3 wonderful weeks at the beach. The condo was extremely well appointed and the staff of Sanibel Holidays also made it easy to stay!!! The condo amenities were exceptional and we will definitely be back. The guys made full use of the bikes to get to know the island and also took up fishing...they haven't done that in years!!! The restaurant scene is definitely changing: McT's was closed ...stated "will see you next month"....well we saw 2 months and no opening!!! We found Lazy Flamingo (on Periwinkle) to be a high priced fast food and would not go back. Our favourites were: The Jacaranda- exceptional Happy Hour- drinks and appies The Timbers- exceptional food Over Easy Cafe "The Cow"...need I say more!! Grandma Dots- exceptional food and service. Just a wonderful 3 weeks and we definitely will return...thank you for sharing your home with us.

We just spent one of our BEST vacations here on Sanibel. This condo is everything you expect and more! We are return Sanibel beach bums and have been staying in this unit for the past 4 years. We LOVE it! Beach Chairs, Umbrella, and Beach Towels are provided by the owners so you don't have to worry about packing them. We rode our bikes everyday, shelled, fished, swam, read, and relaxed. The weather was amazing, light winds off the gulf made for great days at the beach. We dined at the Jacaranda, The Timbers, Doc Ford's (X2), The Green Flash, and Jerry's. The food was fantastic at all. Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grill is our favorite! I would highly recommend this property to all my friends and relatives.
