This little cabin in the woods is located in Pine, AZ - less than 2 hours from Central Phoenix. Nestled on the Tonto National Forest, this quaint, recently remodeled 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom provides an escape from busy life. Relax by the fireplace, enjoy the abundant wildlife, horseback riding, a hike in the woods, or visit any of the local sights. Elk migrate right behind the cabin! You will be a nice walk away from antique stores, berry picking, and the restaurants in pine, and a short drive from the casino, Christopher Creek, and Tonto Fish Hatchery. Reserve your time when the Rodeo is in nearby Payson or during one of the summer art/craft fairs that line the small town of Pine. Escape the heat of the valley or come to play in the winter snow. The kitchen is fully stocked and toys, games, and pack-n-play can be found waiting for the family seeking an easy get-away. Cabin was remodeled in 2010 with new bathroom, laundry closet with washer/dryer, new flooring and paint throughout.

This was our Christmas gift to our 5 small children and we had the most wonderful time! The cabin was clean, cozy, and we loved the fireplace. We stayed for three nights and are left with precious memories! It snowed the day we went up there so the kids had a great time playing in the snow! Can't beat the price! We hope to be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family stayed at the cabin for my son's 3rd birthday. The cabin was very clean and perfrect for a family. My kids loved having their own beds. The extra bedroom has two twin beds and a full bed. The cabin is very easy to find and only 15 min away from Payson. One of our day trips consisted of going to the Llama farm where my kids got to play with the baby goats. We look forward to staying at the cabin again. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. Thank you for all your help Mary!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in this quaint cabin. While it was only the two of us as well as our two dogs, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience here. The coziness of a real wood burning fireplace, the splendor of a full view of wild life off the back porch and the quiet as well as secluded location was just what we needed for a weekend away from the big city on our special day. The owners obviously take great care of this adorably decorated cabin and our expectations were exceeded. You will not be disappointed. We will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We have been married 12 years and have 4 children to show for it. We are both Arizona Natives, both went to graduate school at ASU, and have made The Valley our home. We live in Tempe, AZ and in the bustle of raising our family find that we don't get to relax in our forest retreat as often as we like. We are hoping you will be able to enjoy it!
Why the Owner Chose Pine:
Pine is a wonderful, small, quaint community with a few restaurants, a hardware shop, some antique stores and a fudge/ice cream shop. I wanted our children to experience what life was like before 'Big Box' stores populated the world and my husband has fond childhood memories of spending time exploring around his families cabin growing. We wanted a place to escape the rest of the world - but someplace close enough that we would be there before we started hearing 'are we there yet?'!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
My Favorite Things about the Place-
Because of our unique location on the forest we often pull into the drive and find a welcoming party of deer on our property.
The window above the kitchen sink is a great place to view the Elk as they follow a migratory path behind the house.
I love the both the quiet of the forest and the sound of the wind blowing through the tall pines.
In the summer we often get fantastic, albeit short, afternoon rains that leave the whole forest smelling and feeling just fantastic.
I love that it is close enough that we can make a day trip out of it or just go up for one night.
