Calypso is a 1st tier luxurious 'million dollar' home, completely wheelchair accessible, across the street from the beach. You can walk right across the street of E. Gorrie straight to the sand path that takes you to one of the most beautiful parts of the Island.
Calypso is 4000+ sq. ft. with 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms, directly across from the beach. It has an open floor plan. The house is elevated and all of its living space is on one level with an elevator for your use. A large 30 ft. saltwater pool has a huge pool deck with plenty of shade and sunning areas, making it a great gathering area. Pool can be heated for a fee during certain months.
Our home has an enormous family room with 70 inch TV and free, reliable WIFI. The dining room area has table seating for 10.
Calypso's gourmet kitchen has everything you need to make an awesome, over the top meal or have an easy catered or take out meal.
The two master suites have extra large walk in closets. They have queen sized beds, large bathrooms with walk-in showers that are wheelchair accessible and each have private deck access and unbelievable gulf views. The three additional bedrooms, 3 queen bedrooms share 2 large full size baths, one with a tub/shower. Outdoor shower and bathroom located under the home for convenient use while grilling, swimming or lounging by the pool.
The huge deck, which goes the complete length of the home, has ample seating and overlooks the large beach side saltwater pool, giving you the ability to watch activities at the pool, also take in the breathtaking views of the gulf, at the same time.
Maximum occupancy for our home is 10 at all times. No group events.

Family vacation

Loved the house , pictures didn't do it justice. Plenty of room , beautiful view from the front porch.The house had everything we needed including outdoor grill.The kids loved the pool and road bikes on the road everyday.Walked across the street and down short path to beach.We would stay here again if available when we go back.

Great vacation house for multiple couples

Great house with wonderful large living area with a number of groupings that make it great for large groups. Everyone had their own bathroom. Best set up kitchen I’ve ever had the opportunity to rent. Well stocked and easy to share cooking duties. Nice touch with small fridge in entryway. The elevator helped our less mobile guests with bad hips and knees. Loved the porch and ocean views as well as the pool and the large number of nice quality pool furniture. We loved it all!!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful house!!

Great SGI Getaway!

We have been going to SGI for over 40 years and Calypso is one of the best homes we've had the pleasure of renting. As others have noted, the photos do not do the home justice. It is spacious, very clean, and has plenty of room for groups that include young and old. The elevator is a great help in getting in and out with all of your gear. The kitchen is huge and very well equipped. The views from the deck are beautiful and access to the beach is very close - sandy path almost directly across from the home or boardwalk a very short distance from the house. The outdoor bathroom and shower are a big plus! The owner, Marie, is responsive to all texts and emails. Definitely recommend staying at Calypso - you won't be disappointed.

Excellent property

This is a wonderful vacation house! Very clean and as pictured. We had 6 adults - 2 couples and 2 single people and one infant. The house was well set up for everyone to be comfortable in their own rooms with bathrooms. Kitchen was well supplied with dishes and lots of small appliances you don't normally have available. The porch and covered area at the pool gave us lots of outdoor space to watch the many thunder storms we had during the week. We did have rain/thunderstorms everyday but the house was spacious enough that we did not feel cramped when having to be indoors. Beach access was very close and convenient with either a beach (sandy) path or wooden walkway within an easy distance. The host was very responsive with the few questions we had and we had no problems to report. The elevator worked really well for two in our party with mobility issues. The walk in showers in 3 of the bathrooms were great for that too. We loved our stay!
