Kuau Point grounds are 1/2 acre, which is large for an ocean front property. Our 3 BR 2,000 sq ft home features a 'great room' with a 1,200 sq ft area combining living room, dining room, and kitchen.... with panoramic ocean views through floor to ceiling windows.
Only a three minute walk away, there is a protected lagoon and sandy beach next to the famous Mama's Fish House restaurant.
Kuau Point is one mile from the popular and historic beach town of Paia, which is described by Lonely Planet as: 'home to an eclectic mix of surfers and soul seekers... Maui's hippest burg. Its aging wooden storefronts, now splashed in sunshine yellows and sky blues, house an array of shops geared to visitors'.
World famous wind surfing beach Hookipa is a mile East on the Hana Highway. Baldwin Beach is a large sandy beach two miles West on the Hana Highway.
Kuau Point is a 3 bedroom (King & Queen & 2 Twin size bedrooms), 3 bath house. The house has been completely remodeled and designer furnished. There are travertine and wood floors throughout, Living Room with 70 in flat screen TV, Gourmet Kitchen, Covered Porch area, BBQ, and Washer/Dryer. Ceiling Fans, Air Conditioning each BR, Wireless Internet, In Room Safe, Security system, Walled and Gated.
Kuau Point is ocean front facing west, so the sunset viewing is magnificent.
There is minimum rental of 7 nights, and an additional cleaning charge of $350 applies. Our local property manager handles the Rental Agreement process and payments.... and they will be there to greet you and give you an orientation.
Our home has a legal Vacation Rental Permit.
Please observe the following house rules:
1) 10 MPH driving in our residential neighborhood.
2) Quiet hours - are between 9pm and 8am.
3) Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement (maximum 6 guests including children). This is a requirement of our permit with the County, and violation would put the status of the permit in jeopardy.
4) Amplified sounds that are audible beyond the property boundaries are strictly prohibited.
5) Parking - there is ample parking on the property. Our permit prohibits parking on the street.

About: Mom and Dad bought the property for their retirement, 32 years ago. We are their children in our 60s, three families in California who share the house many weeks a year.
Why Kuau: Maui visitors usually stay near Wailea or Lahina. These are popular tourist destinations. We offer a diffrent experience on Maui's North Shore, where there are few hotels or condominiums. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood, where everyone drives 10 MPH, and kids play in the street. Some describe our place as 'old Hawaii', as it was built years ago, when zoning rules permitted houses very close to the shoreline.
After extensive remodeling and landscaping, Kuau Point available as a Vacation Rental for the first time August, 2014.
