The Penthouse near Union Square is the perfect place to stay when you are visiting San Francisco. It's luxurious, comfortable and close to many of the city's points of interest. Just four blocks from Union Square, considered to be the heart of the city, the fourth-floor Penthouse is within walking distance to many of the city's attractions and accessible to many more via the famed San Francisco cable cars that traverse the area.

If you're looking to take in a play, the Curran Theater, American Conservatory Theater and Marines Memorial Theater are located just off of Union Square. If it's shopping that interests you, choices abound, from multi-level stores like Neiman Marcus and Gumps to smaller signature stores like Tiffanys and Gucci. And then there's dining. San Francisco is known for its fine restaurants and many of them are in the Union Square area.

Just four blocks from the Penthouse (on Bush Street near Jones Street) in another direction is Nob Hill, where you can have a drink at the Top of the Mark (Mark Hopkins Hotel) or grab one of the fabled cable cars for ride to North Beach or Fisherman's Wharf.

And while the Penthouse's proximity to many points of interest is a plus, the Penthouse itself is remarkable.
Located in a lovely, vintage building, the Penthouse is beautifully decorated. The living and dining area, which seats 10 people, is richly appointed. It features a real wood burning fireplace. Each of the three bedrooms has a queen-size bed with deluxe down bedding and fourth story views over Bush Street from the balconies. There are TVs, DVDs and stereos in two of the three bedrooms and the living room. A computer with Internet access and fax machine is located in the third bedroom, which has a queen-size Murphy bed. All new custom and designer furniture throughout this unit makes for a most comfortable retreat. A washer and dryer are located in the garage for your use.

If staying in appeals to you, there is the gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, including wine refrigerator and built-in Miele coffee/espresso machine. Or there’s always the rooftop, where you can grill with a view and dine with the pleasure of gas heaters. And if none of those sound good, you can call Waiters On Wheels, which delivers food from a variety of restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck’s and Steps of Rome. And last but not least – especially in San Francisco – the Penthouse has a one-car garage.

  • The Penthouse was delightful. This was a sister's get together - one from Germany, one from Michigan and one from Massachusetts. Two husbands tagged along. Location was outstanding, we walked to the Chinatown gates. Most impressive was the penthouse itself - beautiful furnishings - and the thought that went into the design and the amenities. Comfortable places to gather, beautiful dining area, comfy beds. Main floor shower a picture. Did have to get used to city noises at night, however. Would definitely go again, and recommend highly.

  • My sisters and brothers had a short family reunion here. We had a great time, the kitchen is 1st class, as well as the rest of the penthouse. Easy access to all we wanted to do in SF. Would stay here again.

  • We had a very enjoyable stay at this property! We were in San Francisco for a long weekend and it was wonderful to come "home" to this gorgeous, clean condo every night. The pictures don't do it justice! There were 5 adults staying here-plenty of room. The kitchen was wonderful and the bathrooms were nicely done. The street noise was a bit noticeable, but nothing too disruptive. Convenient location to everything--and the garage came in handy when we rented a car for a day to drive the PCH 1. My only regret is that we didn't take advantage of the deck! I highly recommend this property!

  • What a wonderful home ~ we were so pleased with everything! We were traveling with my mother, my husband and two children. There was plenty of space so no one got on the other's nerves. The location is an easy walk to Powell Street and we rode the cable cars up and down constantly - the location was great and centrally located! The home is beautifully apportioned and we have already recommended it to our neighbors! Our family highly recommends this home (BTW ~ the photographs don't do it justice ~ even prettier in person)!

  • We had a wonderful stay in this cool part of town. There was plenty of space to stretch out and relax! From the beautiful entry way to the fully furnished kitchen, and of course the rooftop deck, we had a wonderful time. The big bonus was the secured garage for our rented minivan. Parking fees are so expensive in SF, so that was a big plus factored in. Quick note: before a night on the town, some local friends stopped by for a drink. Each remarked that this was an amazing penthouse.

  • Absolutely wonderful. I stayed with my wife and young daughter and had a wonderful time. Everything is new, wonderful appliances and lots of space in the kitchen. The roof deck was great. Location is great, we walked to the square, Russian Hill, and Fisherman's Wharf. Also I didn't relaize it until we got there but parking in San Francisco is a nightmare, having a garage made life so easy for both us and people coming to visit us.

  • Regarding Bush Street, I am so happy we chose this property to rent! We loved being close to China town, Union Square and really walking distance to alot of sites. The nearby stores and sandwich shops were convenient & friendly. The kitchen and living room were very comfortable & the coffee machine was a big hit! No other tenants were ever on the roof so it was a sunny private retreat for us. I would go back to this property again. Tami

  • The Bush Street flat is beautifully appointed and in a great location. We had a wonderful time with two of our adult children and their significant others. My husband and I will even consider staying there on our own as the rate compares favorably with some of the better hotels we have stayed in and you have much more space. Make sure that Jan has arranged for more than one set of keys if you have more than one couple. We did have some problems when we all took off in different directions and had only one key to get back into the building. I know you will have a great time. It really is beautiful and at the same time very comfortable. Also, one of our favorite SF restaurants is just around the corner (Fleur de Lis), very expensive, but a wonderful treat.
