I had a ‘beary’ wonderful time visiting Dolphin Watch on Galveston Island in Texas! This property is everything I need in a vacation home. I especially loved the satellite TV in every room while relaxing at home after a day of fun on the island. I enjoyed hearing and seeing the beauty of the ocean from the spacious front deck. Having an outdoor sink or shower is a must after spending time on the beach, and this property had BOTH available for my use. It was a great!

The layout of this home fit my bear taste perfectly. The kitchen was ‘beary’ nice to cook in. (You’ll love the granite counter tops!) The home was clean, and the décor was lovely – just take a look at the photo of my “swim with the dolphins”! The home is conveniently located a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you’re planning on visiting Galveston, you’ll be sure to feel ‘beary’ at home at Dolphin Watch.

  Very relaxing area of Galveston. Walking distance to beach, riding distance to Marina. Loved the quaint home and decor. Wouldn't mind finding a place of my own in that area.

  The house was great for kids and adults and we had everything we needed, especially close proximity to the beach! House was clean and as describled. Would definitely recommend.

  Dolphin watch was a great place to hang out with our coworkers and to use as a base for participating in the Brewmaster Festival at Moody Gardens. Tiki Bar was especially nice after hours. Nice TVs in every room, and comfortably furnished, this place had about all you could need. My only complaints would be lack of storage space in the kitchen for food items and the air conditioners struggled a bit to keep the place cool during the hottest part of the day - but to be fair, we had a lot of people going in and out, and it was about 95F outside.

  My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Dolphin Watch. However, I would strongly recommend renting a golf cart. While the beach is within walking distance , you must cross a busy highway. Having young children may be a concern. The neighborhood is very nice ! We enjoyed an amazing seafood dinner at the neighborhood marina restaurant. The house was beautiful and quite relaxing. The downstairs patio is a great place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset. Overall you will not be disappointed unless you expect to be right on the beach.

  As a family of 5 including 3 sons, we had a great time. It was close to the beach, and in a very quiet and clean neighborhood. The air conditioning struggled to keep up and we were very thankful for the 2 fans in the bedroom we stayed as it was always warm. We did wish that there was an inside way to the lower level as our youngest son is a diabetic, so we had to have him stay upstairs with us, but having his own t.v. in his bedroom helped out. The boys enjoyed relaxing in the hammock. Definitely needed bug spray if you were going to use the hot tub in the evening. The view to the ocean is beautiful. The outside shower is awesome! Plenty of room for the boys to play football and kick the soccer ball. It was clean, just a little smaller than what we were expecting. Lots of deck and space for enjoying the outside. Landscaping was very nice. Owner was easy to contact and very helpful.

  The place was definitely what I had pictured! It is quite a drive from Galveston though. So we made sure we frequented the local grocery store often. We had four kids and them having to sleep downstairs with no access to upstairs without going outsife was a little scary. Luckily one of us stayed down there with them. The beach was a short drive. The neighborhood was pretty quiet except for an occasional speeding teenager. We wished that the cleaning service would have made the beds prior to our arrival, but we managed ok. There is a washer and dryer that we used daily to wash the towels. We enjoyed it very much and would definitely stay there again.

  When searching for beach house rentals, I was afraid my options would be limited because I wanted to include my father in the event. I included the word handicapped, since my father had experienced a stroke 6 yrs ago. So what the heck, I thought. Let's see what we come up with. Luckily, the search engine picked this property as a choice. We didn't need a LOT of modifications, but the ramp alone was wonderful. We arrived the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The high-tech locks let us in on time, allowing us to make it to the beach for at least a few hours. My sister and her girls stayed in the downstairs "apartment", while my husband and I shared one of two upstairs room and my father got the other. The two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom between them. The rooms were comfy, the shower great. The WiFi was good as was the TV. We enjoyed the hot tub and the Tiki Bar area, oh and the hammock for just hanging out. My Dad loved the upstairs deck where he could sit and read in the shade with the nice Gulf breeze keeping him cool. Our only regret was that we got there too late to rent a golf cart @ Ricks. The walk was a little longer than expected. There was parking at the beach access points to the right and left of the property.The beaches were great, clean except for the seaweed. Nice people around us. We didn't cook much. Afterall, it was a holiday, and my birthday, had just been my sisters 50th birthday. So we had the kitchen for cereal and sanwhiches and stuff. In the evenings we went out to check the local sights. The first place we ate was Bluewater Grill. Family owned and operated. Nice folks. Good menu selection from Pizza to salads, burgers and sandwiches. We enjoyed our meals. In fact we ate there again two nights later, getting pizza for take-out. The next night we went out to The Strand. We ate at Joe's Crab shack, which is always a fun experience. Our waiter, Ben, was great. He took good care of us. We even got another waiter, Ben's roomate Mike, to give up his t-shirt to my sister. (They didn't have anymore of the red-white and blue tie dye shirts.) We bought him another one of course, so everyone was happy!! Another day of relaxing by the hot tub, going down to the beach, the ice cream man coming by in his musical truck and we were in heaven. This place had everything we needed, and was beautifully decorated to boot. Overall a GREAT experience. One well worth repeating. Thank you.

  We were at Dolphin Watch for 7 days and it was fully as advertised on the VRBO website and more!. Our party included me, my wife, my 89 year old mother-in-law (with limited mobility who found the wheelchair ramp perfect for her scooter) and my daughter and grandaughter. The upstairs, downstairs are all perfectly furnished and the unit has wonderful access to both the gulf and the bay. The hot tub and the hammock both got a lot of use. The electronics and flat screen TVs in every conceivable location are an added plus. Access to the fishing dock, community pool, play ground and beach were a real treat for everyone in our group. The kitchens, upstairs and down are fully equipped and great to use. Krogers and Walmart in Galveston are convenient. Oh, be sure and try Mosquito Restaurant in Galveston on 14th Street. WOW! By the way, Rick's Beach Rental is a great place to get your golf cart. They deliver and pick up for free without any hassle. The owner's at Dolphon Watch are great to deal with and everything is as agreed, PLUS! You can't go wrong with this rental!!!!!

  The property was excellent. The downstairs bedroom and bath were perfect for out two daughters and their two friends. The bar area is great and we enjoyed dinner there Friday and Saturday nights. Nice location and Kerry could be easier to deal with. Go ahead and book it, you can't go wrong.

  The sleeping arrangements were tight for 10 adults, but the property was wonderful overall. The golf cart was an unexpected surprise, and we spent lots of time downstairs at the bar. We would definitely consider staying here again with fewer people.
