Owner Description

Steve and Stephanie Domenichelli
Food, Wine and Travel Lovers
We have 3 adult sons and a 10 year old daughter.
We have always traveled with the kids and our dog (s) and understand the importance of comfortable, well-kept vacation rentals.
Why the Owner Chose Healdsburg
We had always admired this property and it reminded my husband Steve of his grandparents farmhouse in Geyserville that was taken when Hwy 101 was built. When the property went on the market, we were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to purchase it. Our family lived in the house for 3 years and we eventually moved to our current home to have more property to develop our passion for growing our own food. We decided to turn the property into a vacation rental for two reasons. One, it is a gorgeous property located in the center of one of the most beautiful places on earth and two, we couldn't see ourselves ever parting with the property we had always loved. We are so happy to have the property and keep it pristine to share with visitors from all over the world. We are working on getting a couple of large maps of the country and world so that guests can place dots or pins on where they are visiting from. We love learning about how far away so many people come to visit Sonoma County. So far, we have had guests from India, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, France, England, Scotland, Canada, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Dominican Republic (hosted a great wedding with lots of FUN family members from DR), Spain, Portugal, Austria, and probably more, just what I have noted so far. Many of our guests enjoy heading out into Dry Creek Valley and visiting Ferrari-Carano (9 minutes door to door) where Steve is the Director of Vineyard Operations and has worked for 23 years. If you are visiting and have any wine or vineyard questions, Steve is the person to ask. He is a fifth generation Italian farmer whose great grandfather came from Italy in 1907 to work at Italian Swiss Colony in Asti. He knows all of the old timers and most of the transplants. ; )
The Unique Benefits of this House
Many guests of the Domenichelli Farmhouse have become loyal Domenichelli Wines customers. We offer private tastings of our own wine and any other local wines that they may be interested in trying. We also offer our guests our own organically grown produce from our gardens depending on the season and availability. Beginning in June and running through mid-September is the Cloverdale Certified Farmers Market where you will find Steve and Ava with their gorgeous produce.
One of the favorite things about this property that we found living here and that most of our guests have come to love is the great Italian food restaurant right across the street, Piacere. Jose and Mary will treat you like family and the Tiramisu is to die for. The citrus trees have also offered wonderful treats for our guests, the Meyer Lemons are amazing and it has won best of show in the Citrus Fair competition. There are so many great cycling and running routes from the house that guests have found themselves discovering new trails everyday. We love the fact that we are conveniently located to Anderson Valley also which has recently been rated the #1 Pinot Noir region in the WORLD. Steve is very familiar with Anderson Valley also because Ferrari-Carano recently purchased Lazy Creek Winery and he has been spending lots of time there.

The owners were so sweet and accomodating. We called them several times throughout our stay to ask for directions, reservations, winery tours, etc. and they also answered and steered us in the right direction. We had a small get together with some very PARTICULAR friends (sorry guys!) who were staying at different (very expensive) places in Healdsburg and they were all jealous. The pool and yard were just so relaxing, clean, perfect! The house is stocked with everything and then some. We loved the location because we were able to walk to eat and drive to almost anywhere we wanted within minutes. We DO love Healdsburg and have only stayed there in the past, but I have to say, Cloverdale really impressed us. The locals were very nice, it was far less crowded with tourists, there were a few really great places to eat, and it was literally only a 12-15 minute drive into Healdsburg. We stayed last time at a vacation rental that was in the Healdsburg zip code, but it was over 20 minutes out in the country, up a windy dusty country road. I prefer the beautiful drive down the Hwy101. We will definitly be back and would recommend this home to ANYONE! Don't miss out!

This is the third time our family has chosen to stay at this property. It is superb!! The owners think of every last detail and are so helpful with any questions or assistance with local needs. We love that when we come back each year, it is obvious that they continue to improve and improve! We thoughts the beds and sheets were wonderful the first time, yet they seem to get better and better. I swear I sleep better here than when I am home!! It is like home, only on vacation!!! The pool is so great and the kids just love hanging out, chatting, splashing. Cloverdale is a little diamond in the rough and we feel blessed to call it home for one week a year!! Thank you to the owners for making this the best week every year for our family.
Owner response:So great! We really enjoy your group too! Hoping to see you again this year, 2012!

This property exceeded all expectations. The pictures are good but certainly do not do this property any justice. It is just lovely. The rooms are all large and spacious and the yard is a wonderful retreat. The owners were very sweet and helpful. We walked downtown to the charming little downtown Cloverdale music event and farmers market. The weather was very warm during the daytime but the evenings were like nothing we had every experienced before, incredible. Healdsburg is only 15 minutes on the highway to the South. We had initially wanted to be in Healdsburg but after having visited and seen first hand what a zoo that town is on the weekends, were very relieved that we found Cloverdale. There were more wineries within a short drive from the house than we had ever imagined. We had not been to this part of Sonoma County in over 10 years and I honestly could NOT believe how it has changed. It is amazing. Highly recommended. We will certainly be back.
Owner response:Thank you Craig! It was so nice to help and your group was really really fun. Next time you all come back we will schedule a longer tasting...with food!

I have traveled the world and been on too many vacations...and this is in my top 2!!! This home was so perfect for a small family or group. Every ammenity you need is there. The owner was INCREDIBLY helpful in helping plan my vacation. They had specific recommendations for winery tours and places to visit. Even people in town said we were given great advice. It was amazing. We cant wait to book this again for next year. I use VRBO all the time and this home tops my list. I 100% recommend it.
Owner response:Thank you Tyler! Congratulations on your beautiful occassion. It sounds like everything turned out just like you hoped it would! We look forward to your stay in the future! Steve and Stephanie

The Farmhouse was everything as advertised and more. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting for the events that preceded our daughters wedding, the day of and day after the wedding, it was perfect!! The bedrooms were very comfortable, there was more than enough room for social gatherings, the kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals. Upon arrival we found the Farmhouse to be very clean and well maintained and would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone looking for a site that makes you feel right at home. Stephanie was very responsive to questions and concerns prior to our arrival. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to visiting again in the future.
Owner response:Thank you Jack and family! We are so thrilled that you were able to spend this special occasion at our property. The Rankin's Ranch must have looked gorgeous for the wedding and the weather held out too! Please come back soon and we can share some wine. Thanks again! Steve and Stephanie

We rented this home for a dual birthday celebration with family. At first we were concerned with the location of the home, being that it's in Cloverdale which we knew nothing about. As soon as we pulled into the circular driveway our concerns melted away. The first thing we noticed was the abundance of roses and flowers, and the air smelled of orange blossoms. The home is spacious, comfortable and allowed for easy walks into town. Cloverdale is small-town America, we felt very safe walking late at night and enjoyed the local restaurants. We also took advantage of the walking path along the river every morning before breakfast. And it's a short distance to everything that the wine country has to offer. Our only drawback to the home was that we could have used another bathroom with 10 of us staying there, otherwise the property is a charming comfortable base for your wine country vacation.

My friends and I rented the Dominichelli Farmhouse for my 30th birthday weekend. Having only viewed the home through the website, we were thoroughly impressed with how well the photos depicted the house. It is an absolutely beautiful home with comfortable beds and bedding, beautiful hard wood floors, and an amazingly relaxing hot tub. It provided more than enough room for me and my guests and gave everyone a sense of privacy/ relaxation for the weekend. Stephanie Dominichelli was more than accomodating in making sure that were comfortable and satisfied with our stay. Thanks again Stephanie!

A crew of fun and young runners and spectators rented the Farmhouse for the "Desintation Healdsburg Half Marathon" during Halloween weekend. The large dining room was perfect for our group rendezvous and yummy home cooked AND grilled meals. The hot tub, gorgeous pool and porches were picture perfect. The kitchen amenities were plentiful and the great number of sleeping accommodations/bedrooms were ideal for us. We definitely want to return soon! Thank you Domenichellis!
Owner response:Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves and congratulations on your run. Steve and Stephanie

We had a group of 9 stay at the house in April. Although it was a rainy weekend, it was a great weekend. We were greeted with fresh lemons and clementines from Stephanie and a beautiful cozy home. Although we had a lot of activities planned, we ended up cancelling many of them and just staying in the house enjoying each others company. We will definitely return. Thanks for everything!
Owner response:So Glad you enjoyed the citrus and the house! It is a great place to sit back and unwind. Please return soon since your so close by! Stephanie
