Why the Owner Chose Healdsburg

We had always admired this property and it reminded my husband Steve of his grandparents farmhouse in Geyserville that was taken when Hwy 101 was built. When the property went on the market, we were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to purchase it. Our family lived in the house for 3 years and we eventually moved to our current home to have more property to develop our passion for growing our own food. We decided to turn the property into a vacation rental for two reasons. One, it is a gorgeous property located in the center of one of the most beautiful places on earth and two, we couldn't see ourselves ever parting with the property we had always loved. We are so happy to have the property and keep it pristine to share with visitors from all over the world. We are working on getting a couple of large maps of the country and world so that guests can place dots or pins on where they are visiting from. We love learning about how far away so many people come to visit Sonoma County. So far, we have had guests from India, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, France, England, Scotland, Canada, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Dominican Republic (hosted a great wedding with lots of FUN family members from DR), Spain, Portugal, Austria, and probably more, just what I have noted so far. Many of our guests enjoy heading out into Dry Creek Valley and visiting Ferrari-Carano (9 minutes door to door) where Steve is the Director of Vineyard Operations and has worked for 23 years. If you are visiting and have any wine or vineyard questions, Steve is the person to ask. He is a fifth generation Italian farmer whose great grandfather came from Italy in 1907 to work at Italian Swiss Colony in Asti. He knows all of the old timers and most of the transplants. ; )

The Unique Benefits of this House

Many guests of the Domenichelli Farmhouse have become loyal Domenichelli Wines customers. We offer private tastings of our own wine and any other local wines that they may be interested in trying. We also offer our guests our own organically grown produce from our gardens depending on the season and availability. Beginning in June and running through mid-September is the Cloverdale Certified Farmers Market where you will find Steve and Ava with their gorgeous produce.
One of the favorite things about this property that we found living here and that most of our guests have come to love is the great Italian food restaurant right across the street, Piacere. Jose and Mary will treat you like family and the Tiramisu is to die for. The citrus trees have also offered wonderful treats for our guests, the Meyer Lemons are amazing and it has won best of show in the Citrus Fair competition. There are so many great cycling and running routes from the house that guests have found themselves discovering new trails everyday. We love the fact that we are conveniently located to Anderson Valley also which has recently been rated the #1 Pinot Noir region in the WORLD. Steve is very familiar with Anderson Valley also because Ferrari-Carano recently purchased Lazy Creek Winery and he has been spending lots of time there.

    • A crew of fun and young runners and spectators rented the Farmhouse for the "Desintation Healdsburg Half Marathon" during Halloween weekend. The large dining room was perfect for our group rendezvous and yummy home cooked AND grilled meals. The hot tub, gorgeous pool and porches were picture perfect. The kitchen amenities were plentiful and the great number of sleeping accommodations/bedrooms were ideal for us. We definitely want to return soon! Thank you Domenichellis!

Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves and congratulations on your run. Steve and Stephanie

    • We had a group of 9 stay at the house in April. Although it was a rainy weekend, it was a great weekend. We were greeted with fresh lemons and clementines from Stephanie and a beautiful cozy home. Although we had a lot of activities planned, we ended up cancelling many of them and just staying in the house enjoying each others company. We will definitely return. Thanks for everything!

      Homeowner Response:
So Glad you enjoyed the citrus and the house! It is a great place to sit back and unwind. Please return soon since your so close by! Stephanie

    • Stephanie and Steve what a fantastic house you have! It was the perfect place for a girls weekend getaway. We all needed it. The beds so comfy, to hot tub so relaxing right in wine county. I highly recommend the Farmhouse and especially having dinner at the house. The food was amazing from appetizers to dinner. Stephanie kudos to you! And Steve thanks for ensuring we had a fire ready. Your hospitality is amazing and I only look forward to coming back again! THANK YOU for opening your house to us and helping us to create some special memories.

      Homeowner Response:

    • My husband and I, along with our families spent a long weekend at the Domenichelli Farm House and had our wedding reception in the back yard. We could not have chosen a better place to enjoy time with our families and celebrate our wedding. The home is absolutely gorgeous and stocked with everything a guest could possibly need. The pool was certainly a focal point and our nieces and nephews put the play area to good use. We plan to make the Domenichelli Farmhouse an annual family reunion destination. Thanks!!!!

      Homeowner Response:
We were thrilled to host your special occasion and look forward to many more to come! Congratulations! Steve and Stephanie

    • We were lucky enough to find this wonderful property through the referral of our wine club associates. It came highly recommended because of the owner's wonderful attention to detail, the cleanliness of the howe, and her ability to plan out our entire wine country itinerary. Stephanie was amazing and by far the most helpful person we have ever experienced on our many visits to the area. She was always there, answering the phone, suggesting restaurants, and anything else we needed. She made our stay perfect in every way! We will definitely be back a look forward to sending all of our friends and family to stay here.

      Homeowner Response:
It was our pleasure to host such a generous group, Thank you for all of the wine. It was such a thoughtful gesture. You are all welcome back anytime!

    • First off, I'm jealous the last post got to stay here for 2 months! Would have loved to do that myself, but will save that for retirement....someday. The Farmhouse was much more than we anticipated - the pictures are gorgeous, but seeing it was a whole different world. A relaxing world my friends and I had a hard time leaving. The house is warm and inviting; we enjoyed spending a lot of time on the porch chatting, as well as soaking in the hot tub. We had the chance to go wine tasting - Preston and Hanna were our two favorites, and we also had a great time at Alexander Valley. Grapes and Grounds does an excellent breakfast sandwich and the food at La Hacienda was delicious! Stephanie and Steve - kudos on a beautiful and warm home. We hope to make it back at some point, and I've already recommended the Farmhouse to other friends and my family. Best, Collette & friends

      Homeowner Response:
Thank you Collette, and thanks for baring with us through those first moments of chaos. Steve & Stephanie

    • A gracious victorian home that was an ideal place to relax with a crowd attending a wedding. The home is fully outfitted so there is no need to bring anything except your clothes. We and our friends will, hopefully, return soon.

      Homeowner Response:
Thank you Jock, we hope you had a memorable stay.

    • Our stay at the Domenichelli Farm House for 2 months (yes, us lucky dogs) exceeded our expectations of the area, people, location and comfort of the home. We ate at the restuarants recommended in the in-house binder, twice at Cena Luna and Santi, gained 5 pounds each. And we are now looking for property because the orange and lemon trees in the backyard are hard to give up!!!!! Montana will be home for a few more years but winter in Cloverdale/Healdsburg got our hot button. A very nice lady at the local bookstore (Cloverdale) recommended books on the local area and family histories of various wineries. Check it out if you are a front porch reader. Wine tasting arranged by our hosts was a delight. Loved the small town atmosphere. Who needs Napa/Sonoma when you can stay at the Domenichelli Farm House in Cloverdale!!!

      Homeowner Response:
The best, most low-maintenance guest ever! We are excited to have you in the neighborhood. Hope your property search is going well and you can find a property with great citrus trees. Best, Steve & Stephanie
