Paris Arrondissement 15 apartment description

In the lively 15th district, on the third floor of a very small building on a private street, sits a totally new one bedroom apartment built in July of 2005. Calm and very bright ( living room, kitchen : southern exposure) this 500 sq foot (45 sq meter) apartment is conveniently located near good public transportation, yet far from the madding crowds. Excellent food shopping in walking distance (six bakeries, excellent butcher, two green grocers, one cheese shop and a good, clean supermarket). A spirited roving market comes to rue de la Convention three times a week for your convenience.

The apartment is modern and comfortable with lots of windows, an open kitchen with a long bar for your dining convenience and a comfortable sleep sofa, cable TV CD player and radio. The open kitchen is fully-equipped with all the amenities of home; your own, personal washer and dryer are in the basement. There is a place for your laptop (high speed access via cable or WIFI) in the bedroom, and the bathroom and separate toilet have been beautifully tiled.

The apartment is cozy, clean and bright and situated in a pleasant, safe, and non-touristy area. Bus and Metro connections are conveniently nearby and easily walkable. The owners were gracious, hepful, and lots of fun. We booked it based on all the positive reviews, which turned out to be totally accurate. Our only disappointment is that it is so popular that availability is very limited.

My girls and I stayed there for 5 nights in December. The apt was very comfortable and convenient. While a bit out of the way, the bus service is just a block away and took us everywhere we wanted to go. there were lots of shops nearby so there was no problem buying provisions. The open kitchen was good and made for a great environment for our evening recap after a day of sightseeing. The bathroom is brand new and well equipped, the bedroom was very comfortable and the sleeper-sofa was also really good. The elevator was also really welcome after a day of walking all over town! The only complaint we had was that the heat took a while to kick in - having arrived in winter and the apt was not occupied for a while before we got there... it was very cold until the next night so if you travel in the winter, ask the landlord to turn on the heat before you arrive.

Andie, first, our apologies for not posting this review sooner. Second, my sister and I had a most wonderful week in your apartment. Although it is not in the center of the city (who wants to pay Marais or 5eme-6eme-7eme prices for inferior apartments anyway?), every place one would want to visit is within easy reach by bus or metro. Markets, restaurants, post office, banks, bakeries, etc. are just a few steps or a very short distance away. The apartment is bright and airy; has all the kitchen and bathroom amenities necessary for a comfortable stay; has a reliable wifi connection; has ample storage space. We felt safe in the building and the neighborhood. Best of all was Andie's welcome and farewell visit - we promise to come again!

If you are lucky enough to book this darling place, do it at ONCE! It is EXACTLY as advertised and we are currently enjoying our first of four weeks here. It's immaculate, spacious (by our standards), with plenty of storage, light, bright, quiet, and Andie, the owner, is completely charming and accommodating. We are moments away from all transportation, shopping for everything we need is handy, there are reasonable restaurants in our 'hood, the building is completely secure, the kitchen is just dandy and handy to use. Trouble is, the place is so booked by happy tenants that we can't get in again for a long time and have to seek other arrangements for next year.

We recently spend a month at this charming apartment. It was exactly as advertised - bright, clean, convenient and comfortable - with everything we needed to make our time in Paris just perfect. Andi and George, the apartment owners both fluently bilingual, are nearby and extremely helpful without being intrusive. The street is quiet and the surrounding neighbourhood is a wonderful little slice of Paris. We lived like Parisians, shopping at the market, buying our newspapers and tickets at the nearby Press shop, standing in line for fresh warm baguettes, going to the movies, sitting in the park, checking out the local cafes and restaurants. And central Paris is within easy reach with great bus service - the stop just a few steps away - and it's not far to the metro station. We even walked to the Seine and to Montparnasse. We would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants the experience of being so much more than a tourist in this wonderful city - we hope to return soon!

Although this comment is woefully overdue, I stayed in this delightful apartment from January 2006 until February 2007. Andi and Georges were just super as hosts (and neighbors!) and everything in the apartment was as pictured and as promised. A professional writer and writer's coach, I came to Paris to have the experience of living and writing abroad, and living here, I really felt Parisian and not at all like just another tourist. The neighborhood has a safe and comfortable feel, with good shops and one of the best street markets in Paris, and the 95 bus quickly became my favorite way to get to the center of the city. Although I lived here alone, I frequently had friends coming to stay (the Ikea sofa bed was so terrific that I bought one just like it last year) and 2-4 people could be quite comfortable here for any length of time. The only reason I moved out? I met a Frenchman, fell in love, and married him! I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone who is coming to Paris for a week or more, and who wants to be away from the noisier tourist areas to experience the REAL Paris... and Andi and Georges will take very good care to ensure you have a memorable stay.

I stayed here during my Le Cordon Bleu intensive cooking course, for 5 weeks. It is like living in a charming village, but with all the convenience of a great city. I loved coming home at night to the peace and quiet of the Rue Charles Weiss, whilst knowing that the hustle & bustle of Paris are only a few metro stops away. The apartment was as described and the photos do it justice, it looks exactly the same in real life. The welcome by Andie & Georges was heart warming and they have been brilliant throughout the entire stay. Very helpful, warm and friendly. Any questions or concerns were dealt with immediately in the most pleasant way. It helps that they are right next door I guess! The atmosphere in the apartment is charming, I felt right at home. The kitchen is well equipped, linens and the like are fine and everything was squeaky clean. I would definitely come back if I came to Paris again and I can heartily recommend it. Great value for money!

We recommend this apartment very highly and enjoyed our long-term stay there last year. This bright, functional apartment was a pleasure - it has well-designed 'American style' kitchen, good shower and toilet facilities, your own washing machine in the basement, Ikea furnishings and is in a modern office/apartment building. It is outside of the busy tourist areas, which means one has the benefit of good neighbourhood living (large street market nearby 3 days a week) and proximity to various conveniences and amenities including the Peripherique for out-of-town drives, to the Porte des Versailles exhibition halls for special shows and exhibitions, to the Cordon Bleu School for cooking classes, and to Georges Brassens Park. The landlords, Andi (she's an expat American) and Georges (a bilingual Frenchman), were fun, direct and great sources of information. They helped us feel like real Parisians. Two metro stops are within 10-15 minutes walking and a bus stop is just 2 minutes away. This bus (the 95 bus) will take you directly to Montparnasse, St. Germain de Pres, the Louvre, the Opera Garnier, major department stores, etc. although you will want to allow time for Paris traffic. Overall, an excellent choice for those who are happy being outside of the busy tourist zones. Thank you, Andi and Georges!

My wife and I stayed five weeks in the autumn of 2009; it was our third month-long stay in Paris in as many years. This comment is thus long overdue, but I trust Andrea and Georges will not mind. We could not have been any more happy. I know there has been a long-term lease since last fall (when we left), but the apartment is exactly as represented; not fancy, but superb and functional in every respect. It is perhaps five minutes quick walk from either of two Metro stops, then pehaps twelve to fifteen minutes into the heart (touristy areas) of Paris. The Metro line stops at that other end are even more convenient. The bus stop will take you straight down to the sites along the Seine. The flat is situated in a nice, quiet and very safe neighborhood with good grocers (including two big supermarkets and an Asian supermarket), bakeries, fromageries, etc. It has a good and large outdoor market twice a week. You won't see many tourists, but that is one of the huge benefits. If you are looking on VRBO, you are probably interested in a more "real" experience anyway. Everything is immaculately clean. There is an elevator (lift) up to the apartment. Your landlords live close by and one is a former New York City girl. They helped us out in countless ways. We now consider them friends. I could go on and on about, for example, a wonderful park close by for sitting, reading, jogging, and people watching; nice shops of all kinds with what seemed to us cheaper prices than some other areas of Paris; straightforward cafes with reasonable prices. This is a neighborhood where real Parisians live and you don't have to go far to find all the essentials of living. Don't worry if your French is poor or even non-existent; you will get by better than just fine (grocery stores are afterall just grocery stores the world around). Soon you will receive a look of recognition from the clerks and neighbors in this wonderful middle-class section of Paris. We look forward to returning many, many times. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to have the landlords put you in touch with us.
