‘Miles Away’ is where family memories are made and golf can be played. Professionally decorated and fully furnished, this immaculate, private lake front home of over 4200 square feet, has a spectacular view across the main lake. No hills and no coves!
Located on three acres and nestled among large trees, the flat grassy landscaped lot lends itself to a game of football, softball, croquet, horse shoes, or chipping golf balls. 300 feet of gorgeous, pristine main lake shoreline with a private beach area and max vinyl dock with boat slip and party deck, perfect for swimming, fishing, sun bathing or watching one of our exquisite sunsets.
This million dollar, executive-style home offers a large, extensively equipped, gourmet kitchen, complete with granite countertops and island, allowing you to cook while enjoying the company of family and friends. A warm, gracious family room is a great lake front sitting area and invites you to enjoy the wood-burning fireplace while reading, watching a movie, or playing a game--a variety of books, CDs, movies, puzzles and games are included.
The first floor master bedroom, with lake views, has a queen-size canopy bed, walk-in California closet and luxurious marble bath with separate walk-in shower. Upstairs are three roomy bedrooms (one with private bath) with queen-size beds. Another full bath is located in the upstairs hall.
The large bonus room is a wonderful play area--complete with toys and a game table or makes a great retreat for the kids to throw down sleeping bags or air mattresses and "camp out." With the office nook, desk, hi-speed internet and router, keep up with business while you are on vacation is a breeze. A queen-size sleeper sofa is located in the downstairs den--a separate TV/game area or can act as a fifth bedroom, complete with a Sony Playstation 2 for the kids.

Our family is originally from the South - Rebecca was born in Georgia. We have had the opportunity to move across our great country and live in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, New York, Maryland, California and now Illinois. It has been a positive experience meeting new people, visiting historic landmarks and museums and taking advantage of what each area has to offer. When Rebecca was growing up, her grandparents owned a drive-in theatre and she has warm, fuzzy and wonderful memories of her time watching movies on the big-screen, playing on the playground and helping make pizzas! Our decision to purchase a second home on the lake was to provide our family with fantastic, warm and endearing memories of our own. We love to ski, swim, fish, boat, cook, eat outdoors, play games, ride bikes, etc... and we can do it all at Miles Away!

We had a great week at "Miles Away". First off the house was spotless when we arrived (and I am very picky) such that we could smell how clean it was from the front porch! The house is beautifully appointed and Rebecca has worked hard to make sure everything you need is available. The amenities are endless--even better than have been described. I think the kitchen is stocked better than my own at home! We had some minor issues with the house when we were there, which Rebecca promptly took care of and went through great efforts to make sure was to our satisfaction. She truly is a gem of a person and a delight to work with. Her hospitality is reflected in the lovely home she provides. Thank you for a wonderful week!!

Perfect house situated far enough off the main road so that you are "miles away" from it all, but close enough to where you are never too far away. The house has a great back yard area and huge yard that leads up to the lake. The spacious home is big enough for a large group of people (as was our case) to spread out and have their own space, while have access to the awesome kitchen and living room. You literally are no more than a 5 minute drive from the Ritz Carlton and all the shops(Publix, movie theater, restaurants etc) right off Linger Longer Rd. This is a must stay whenever you travel to Lake Oconee.
Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway.

Rebecca and Chris Just wanted to let you know how wonderful it was to have our Thanksgiving at you beautiful lake home. Wonderful location and views of the lake. The kitchen iw well equipped for cooking for large groups. Many toys for all age children. The high chair was especially helpful for my great nephew of 2 years. Your genuine kindness made us feel the southern hospitality. We will definitely keep Miles Away on our Georgia vacation list. Thanks again to both of you for sharing your home.

Rebecca, things could not have gone better. We had a fantastic time, the boys caught fish, it was beautiful to go out to the dock at 7:00 a.m. each morning to fish. The fire pit was a huge plus, we used it every night to sit around and cook smores. Your house was so well equipped, we have rented homes several times but never had a home this well equipped, PS2, books, games, yard toys, kitchen utensils……..Your home is beautiful, we all spent a lot of time outside in the big yard, playing games and volleyball. We were spoiled with the golf cart, so easy to go back and forth from the house to the lake. It was so nice to walk into your house and feel like we were in a home, not a rental house. We went to Athens which was a quick ride, ate at the Blue Willow in Social Circle, went to Pounders for steaks. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us and allowing our family to create great memories! Scott

Rebecca, Thank you so much for renting us your lake house over memorial weekend. It is BEAUTIFUL both indoors and out. It is a perfect location, beautiful views and I loved the flat backyard and fire pit. The inside was like decorators showroom house with everything we could possibly need. It was very relaxing, I just wished we were there the entire week. You have been very pleasant to work with, in fact I enjoyed our conversations. We could not have been more pleased with your beautiful home. It was perfect in every way. Our 18 month old grandson loved all the toys and all of the adults loved everything else. It was simply the best time our family has had during any holiday period. My 90 year old mother is ready to come back.

The photos do not do the yard and patio justice. The home is great, but the setting is phenomenal. A fantastic place for young children and older children. Something for everyone. We had a fantastic week at Miles Away and spent 95% of it outside because you can!!!

Our vacation at "Miles Away" was everything I had hoped for! We had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca, Chris and Remington upon our arrival. They went over and above to make certain that everything was perfect & it was - including the weather. There weren't enough hours in the day to take advantage of all the amenities offered at their home. We fished, water skiied, tubed, rode bikes, cooked out, had s'mores and played baseball every day. Their home is lovely and very well-kept with everything you could ever want or need. Rebecca's info prior to arrival made Lake Oconee feel very familiar. We're already trying to come up with a date for all of our family to return.
