Keno's Llama & Guest Ranch

a lovely time near Estes Park

Guest: knittindoc (St. Louis, MO)
Date of Stay: 09/11/11 Review Submitted: 09/27/11

3 adults and 2 dogs stayed for 1 1/2 wks in 2 of the 3 rentals at the ranch. The house is absolutely gorgeous, but way HUGE. We started in the one bedroom apt. and moved over to the efficiency due to our scheduling difficulties. The beds and sofa/futon mattresses were very good and the efficiency was tight for so many "beings", but better organized than the larger space... so we all fit. Clean enough, but I am a NEAT FREAK. Views from each deck were different, but there was always something to see. Want to meet a deer, face to face, at your front door? It happened here. Birders, bring your binoculars and life lists. Lee and Molly are two of the nicest owners you will ever come across. True gold. This was a wonderful place to stay and a great base for the RMNP.

Rocky Mountain Getaway

Guest: TigersDen (Macon, MO)
Date of Stay: 08/01/11 Review Submitted: 08/10/11

We rented the Lake View condo as well as the bunk room for the two kids. Having the optional bunk room is great if you have kids or need a little more space than just the condo. The location of the ranch is perfect for day trips into RMNP - the park is just minutes away with no traffic to contend with. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals and walking the Llamas. Lee and Molly are very friendly and helpful should you need any information about the area, such as where to eat or what hikes to take. The hot tub felt great after hiking in the mountains. We plan to stay here again on our next trip.

Super multi-generation family reunion location

Guest: M&D (Durham, NC)
Date of Stay: 07/18/11 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

We had a multi-generation family get-together at Keno's Llama Ranch, with members ranging in age from 2 to 81. The ranch has something for everyone. The kids (well, all of us) loved feeding the llamas and elk, and taking the Llamas for a walk. Location with lovely views was great - as was ability to get to Rocky Mtn NP easily, avoiding Estes Park traffic congestion. Multiple gathering spaces on the decks, living room and upstairs craft rooms; comfortable beds; spectacularly equipped kitchen made it easy to feed a group. Lee and Molly were great hosts!

K & K from Washington state

Date of Stay: 07/11/11 Review Submitted: 07/31/11

This was the ideal setting for our extended family's week-long gathering. There were 14 of us and we had ample space to have our own privacy but also have indoor and outdoor space in which to gather together as a large group. We were conveniently close to Estes, but being on the 'non-town' slope of Prospect Mountain, we were out of the hectic fray of town and could enjoy the peace of the mountains. We had fun walking the llamas, petting the elk, relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sunset over the mountains from the deck. Lee and Molly, the owners, are warm and gracious people. They give you all the privacy you would want and are always available for any questions you might have. We will definitely be back!

Perfect location for relaxed group gathering!

Guest: R & W (Loveland, CO)
Date of Stay: 07/20/11 Review Submitted: 07/25/11

We held a reunion with a group of 22 people, including 8 children. Wonderful location! Large, comfortable area for group cooking, dining, and socializing, but also separate smaller spaces so we did not feel "on top of each other" all the time. Clean, relaxed, home-like setting. Beautiful outdoor spaces with multi-level deck, outdoor tub, shaded seating areas, well-tended flower beds and gardens, views of lake and mountains. Kids had great time feeding the elk and llama, as well as climbing and exploring on the rock areas in front of the house. Lee and Molly are the ultimate hosts, welcoming, friendly, but also unobtrusive. Very knowledgeable about area activities, lent the kids fishing equipment to use at the lake. We would all highly recommend Keno's Llama Ranch!

perfect for small family reunion or simply a quiet getaway!

Guest: M (Conifer Co)

what a great place to stay! Estes without the downtown noise & traffic!! Beautiful scenery from the 3 decks on main house where we would meet for BBQs and games and fun times! Plus you can bring your doggie; the decks are gated and there is a dog run adjacent to the main house. 2 families stayed in main house & another in one of the condos and their 2 older sons slept in the downstairs bedroom there. So we had lots of privacy when it was wanted! and Molly's gardens are gorgeous! The kids had a great time with the animals and Lee provided all of them with fishing poles to take alng to Lily Lake on their llama hike! The owners are informative and kind and yet unobtrusive. There are so many extras that they provide such as spices and condiments and COFFEE (that we fresh grind each day!) Those little necessities like shampoo/lotion,paper plates, towels that we often forget. The places were clean and comfy. The main house spacious. and the area SO peaceful!! I highly recommend Keno's for anyone who wants the joy of Estes Park less the traffic and noise and bustle of motels in and around downtown!

Home away from home

Date of Stay: 06/11/11 Review Submitted: 07/10/11

My family and I have been staying here for over 10 years. It is a beautiful location overlooking Mary's Lake and the mountains. It is quiet and peaceful. There are three different places to stay (a huge house, a one-bedroom condo, and a studio apartment). All are comfortable, clean and have well-stocked kitchens. The down comforters will keep you warm on the cool mountain nights too. There are three elk that live here that you can pet and feed. A truly unique experience. The owners are kind, always accommodating and have great stories about living in Estes Park. Keno's Llama Ranch is a one of a kind, special place. I would not stay anywhere else and continue to impress family and friends by bringing them here.

Wonderful!

We had a family reunion the first weekend in June 2011 and stayed at Keno's. Family from Indiana, North Carolina and Colorado were here. It was a wonderful, comfortable and relaxing weekend. The accommodations were clean and well kept, the house and condo were well supplied and the owners, Molly and Lee, were awesome. We all enjoyed talking with them! They are friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive. We enjoyed the elk and llamas too. I would highly recommend Keno's. Hopefully I will have the opportunity in the future to stay again. Thanks, again, Molly and Lee!

Beautiful Surroundings

Guest: Emilie (Louisville, CO)
Date of Stay: 05/20/11 Review Submitted: 05/25/11

11 of our family came from as far as Oakland to meet for my birthday at Keno's Llama Ranch from Friday to Monday. We had my birthday party there on Sunday with all our friends from Boulder and Louisville coming up for the afternoon. The location in the little valley away from the hustle bustle of cars and people was even more beautiful than the photos. The kitchen had absolutely every piece of equipment and dishes a chef uses, spices galore, and even the staples. It was all in perfect order. We made incredible meals. The layout of the kitchen, dining room and living room were wonderful for hanging out and visiting. And there is a really nice game/craft room just at the top of the stairs that the kids used a lot. The beds were heavenly and there were tons of towels - enough for dips in the hot tub. The owners were helpful and quick to answer all our questions. When we got there, they showed us all around -- the green house, the animals, the ping pong area, and the hot tubs. Everything was in perfectly usable shape. We really enjoyed taking the Llamas for walks around the lakes and the kids loved the elk tricks too. We took a lot of little hikes all over exploring the surroundings, just appreciating the beauty. The kids liked climbing on the rocks right outside the deck railing. One evening we all went over to Mary's Lake Lodge just across the late where we had dinner in the Tavern and danced to a local band.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

Guest: Moonsafari33 (Austin, TX)
Date of Stay: 04/06/11 Review Submitted: 04/17/11

I stayed at Keno's Llama Ranch one week ago and had a great time. The owners are lovely people and very nice, hospitable, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again (especially to see the sweet elk and llamas again). I stayed in the Mountain View condo. It was a small condo with a queen sized bed, a beautiful view, fully equipped kitchen, TV with satellite cable, a stereo (you can even connect your iPod), and a 1/2 bathroom. It was very cozy and private and felt like home away from home. I found the place to be really charming. It was very short drive (5-10min) to Rocky Mountain National Park. The surrounding area was breathtaking, but just because this is a little town, it has everything you need. Thank you Molly and Lee for a great stay. :)
