Every year we host a Leadership Retreat in Breckenridge. It is often hard to find a location that can comfortably house 25 women. This house is so perfect for us and we concluded our 2nd stay at this location last week. The house worked so well for us including the visit Saturday night by a cute little fox - guess he liked our BBQ. We will be back again next year. Thanks so much for having such a comfortable location for us and such an easy drive from the Denver area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We were a large group staying over the thanksgiving holiday and found the following: This home has a great space and huge potential, but it need a thorough clean... And lots of fixes: 1.Grill was filthy and didn't work. We had to get someone in to fix it. 2.One dryer took 3 hrs to dry 6 towels. The other dryer was fine... Why keep a dryer that doesn't work properly? 3.The electric fireplace downstairs blew the circuit so we couldn't use it. 4.The clock in the master bedroom didn't work. 5.The stove the burner toward the living room shorted out and blew sparks twice blowing the circuit breaker so we didn't use it any more. The other two burners towards the window had electrical issues... When you turn the big one on, the smaller burner comes in full power which is a burn hazard. We kept on putting a pot of water on the small burner so that we didn't get burned. 6.Large groups should be aware that the oven is small for cooking thanksgiving meals! 7.The blinds in the basement need re stringing. They don't work properly. 8.There were 3 balls missing at the pool table so we couldn't play. 9.Broken man on the other game table so couldn't play that either. 10.Leak under the sink... We realize you have a leak there as there was a bucket to catch the leak, but we accidentally tipped the bucket over and it caused a real mess... The bucket must have been really full. Why not just get the leak fixed? 11.Food was left in freezer in the kitchen and the refrigerator in the garage 12.Crumbs in the cupboard everywhere. It just needs a thorough clean. 13.Very disorganized cook ware. There was lots of it, but some of it had slight food remnants and so we ended up washing pots before using them and with the sheer number of pots it was hard to find matching lids. Also there is very limited cooking space so all the pots couldn't possibly be used. It might help to get rid of some of them as there would be less to clean between guests. 14.One of the beds had hair in the sheet. But overall we found the bedding to be clean... I suspect someone had made their bed upon departure and so it wasn't identified as being used. 15.There was no soap provided. Which is fine but you might want to mention this to guests. This home has such great potential. There seemed to be plenty of hot water and the home is well heated. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the ti-level space was perfect for a group who wanted to be together at times and apart watching their own tv shows aRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We did have an issue or two with this guest. The home had a large wedding group go through the home the week before and they did a lot of damage. This has never happened to us in the past. We thought we had caught everything that they had damaged, but apparently not. We had to fix drywall repaint, repair the heating system, order new glass for the living room table, we even refelted the pool table two days prior to this guest arriving. Our staff did respond immediately to the guests issues as much as is possible as in Breckenridge over a holiday weekend many of the supply stores are closed. Your will see by our list of previous reviews that this home is normally kept in tip top shape. I did give this guest my email on her cell phone so that we could get a list of the items she had trouble with. This is the first time I have seen the list as she did not send the email. I understand from the maintenance guys that the stove top issue surfaced after the guest washed the electric stove top parts.

We travelled from California, New Jersey, New Orleans, and Denver for a family reunion. There were 20 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. There was a lot to do: pool, dinners in the spacious kitchen, cards around the fireplace, hiking around the property (we saw a fox close up!) and it was real close to town. The white water rafting trip from AVA and the horse back riding at Rusty Spurs Ranch was a once in a lifetime experience. I'd highly recommend this property for a future vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My group of 30+ just got back from our stay @ Gold King Lodge and we absolutely loved the house! It had everything our group wanted/needed, namely a hot tub, sauna, space to congregate on both the main floor and in the basement and ski access a few hundred yards down the road. We'll definitely be considering staying here again and I recommend this house to other large families/groups!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
