  • Amazing!

"Golden Sun Villa is summed up in one word: AMAZING! We went to Jamaica on our honeymoon hoping for a romantic getaway. Before our trip started the owner emailed us a full list of activities to do and things to know when there. All of the recommendations were great and saved us a lot of time looking into things to do. He answered all of our specific questions and was a pleasure to deal with in all regards. Once we got to Jamaica we rented a car and had a beautiful one hour drive to the villa. We were greeted by the very friendly staff and Franz the grounds keeper showed us around the gorgeous grounds. Larna the cook was exceptionally helpful and very kind. We had her purchase all of our food before getting there, so we arrived to a fully stocked fridge, with delicious fruits, and enough food for her to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us for the week stay. Chelsea the housekeeper/maid was a delight as well. She cleaned up after us so we never had to lift a finger. She even made a floral arrangement on our bed every morning, very tropical! The house is very spacious with a cozy master bedroom. The lounge area has a TV with couches around to hang out after a long day out. The absolute best part of the villa is the backyard. It has an unbelievably scenic background with the ocean crashing against the shore and palm trees blowing in the wind. Our favorite part of the backyard is the stunning pool. We would stay outside for hours at night swimming under thousands of sparkling stars. It is truly a spectacular sight we won’t soon forget. Other notable parts of the grounds was the all you can eat sea grapes that grow next to the house, the almond tree on the grounds which we got to eat from, and the total privacy we had. We had the time of our lives there and hope others can enjoy it as well. If you are planning a trip to Jamaica I would definitely recommend staying here."

  • Paradise!

"We spent a marvelous 7 days at Sugar Bay Villa in Discovery Bay. It was a wonderful and amazing time overall. Upon arrival you are greeted by the heart-warming staff with a fresh towel and some drinks to cool-off. As soon as you step into the house, you are in paradise. The 5 bedroom villa has an open lay-out with a patio that looks out over the infinity pool and ocean. The patio is also adjacent to a bar where Ted, your concierge, will create any drink that you desire! The staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. They are all so kind, wonderful, and always fulfill your every need. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are catered and special request are always welcomed. The way the staff looks after you truly feels like you are at a 5 star resort! They are always giving special attention to details that make every dining experience practically perfect. During our week at the villa, we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and the same truly made it amazing for her. They set-up a table under the poolside cabana and surrounded it with flaming tiki torches. The whole atmosphere was incredible and they kept the champagne flowing all night long! My wife and I vacationed with 4 other couples so each had their own room. The rooms were extremely well-kept, spacious, and had wonderful views to wake-up to every morning. Finally, the convenience and comfort of having your own private beach was uncomparable to any vacation we have ever been on. The beach is enclosed in a small Laguna so that there are never any major waves. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle-boarding daily at the villa. Also, we had a couple that enjoyed playing tennis on the private tennis court that was on the Villa property as well. Overall, our stay was unbelievable and highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy a luxurious accommodation in Jamaica."

  • Nine days in Paradise!

"Linga Awile is an amazingly peaceful place. Discovery Bay has, thankfully, not yet been discovered by the mega resorts that are cloning themselves elsewhere in Jamaica. It is a place of sun, sand, warmth and welcome! Jenni was so gracious to let us arrive a day early due to the massive storm that closed down the SE US, and Casita, Cheryl and Deano gave up their day off to welcome us. It only got better from there. The kids spent hours each day in the pool and the adults Linga'd on the Veranda and Gazebo. We all swam in the warm ocean, kayaked and melted in sunshine and 85F. Around the area we enjoyed the caves, horseback riding - into the ocean no less - rafting, and a magical visit to Glistening Waters. We went to local markets and tourist markets, shopped in the local grocery store, and came home each night to a comfortable home, and amazing meals. Don't miss Casita's fried chicken, or coconut moaa, or the talapia! Cheryl kept us in dry towels and dry floors and keeps a spotless house. Deano served us coconut fresh from the tree, every meal, took care of the yard and allowed us the priviledge of getting to know him better in the evening. Moma Casita, Auntie Cheryl and Brother Deano, we have already booked the same time for next year!"

Discovery Bay Travel Tips

Discovery Bay Beach Rentals with Cliff Divers

From cliff diving to secluded beaches, Discovery Bay beach rentals have it all. Planning your next vacation is easy when you choose Discovery Bay villas because you know the warm waters and tropical haven are waiting for you. Jamaica travel is all about the scuba diving, fishing, and surfing. Each day, you can be delighted by the professional cliff divers jumping into the bay or the sea creatures winking below the waves.

Christopher Columbus and Discovery Bay Villas

Discovery Bay is in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, though it was originally named Dry Harbour Mountains by Columbus. There is a dispute as to where Christopher Columbus landed in 1494. Some believe he landed east of Discovery Bay at Sevilla la Nueva. He chose the name Dry Harbour because underground cracks in the limestone feed the bay rather than rivers. When you rent Discovery Bay villas, you have the chance to visit the mines of the area that have led to the wealth of Jamaica. Jamaica is also highly dependent on tourism so Discovery Bay beach rentals are often affordable compared to other Caribbean Islands.

Jamaica Travel near the Marine Laboratory

Jamaica travel is mostly about scuba diving and the Discovery Bay Marine Laboratory. The laboratory was founded in 1965 by marine researchers to monitor and study the coral reefs of Jamaica. The reef is home to numerous species of fish, some sea turtles, and a few species of shark. Even if you do not enjoy diving, the snorkeling from the beach of your Discovery Bay villas will be an experience to remember.

Discovery Bay Beach Rentals by Green Grotto Caves

If you prefer land to sea, Jamaica travel can offer you the Green Grotto Caves. Legend says the caves were a hideaway for Spanish settlers trying to escape the British. This adventure, which is minutes from your Discovery Bay beach rentals, will take you into the past as well as offer a geological lesson. The caves are limestone with stalactites and stalagmites running throughout the caverns leading to an underground lake.
