  • March 2015 Vacation

"Just finished our 1st family trip to PR. 6 of us, including granddaughter, 4 generations of family stayed here. Everyday was paradise. Everything we needed was available in condo. 3 separate bedrooms plus livingroom area plus deck overlooking the ocean. Room enough for privacy or to lounge together. We watched the sunrise from the deck most days, then walked along the water outside. Water flowed into a lagoon like area that the baby loved to play in. We didn't run into anyone else on the beach or at the pool. We visited El Yunque, like 10 minute drive away, and hiked to La Mina falls (worth it)! We did bring the baby (1 1/2 yrs old), she had to be carried but it was no trouble. We spent many days by the kiosks, 5 minute drive, and swam in the water there as well as bought our souvenirs and ate SOOO much food. Most people we spoke to spoke English and Spanish. My 2 teens did 2-hr horseback ride along ocean and river and absolutely loved it. We also ate at Boardriders our first night in and Cactus grill (both 2 min away). Very nice. We did a little grocery shopping at Amigos, right across the road. Condo had everything we needed to prepare the couple meals we ate inside. We drove to Gurabo one day to visit friend, and also to Old San Juan another day, about an hrs drive for each trip. Those were only distant excursions, otherwise swimming, walking along the ocean, and rain forest are in front of and behind the condo. Again, I'll stress, that outside deck was a favorite spot to chill before and after enjoying each day in Luquillo. Overall, best trip ever! I will absolutely go back. We didn't want to leave in the first place. The owner, Tom, was available by phone and email. Answered all our questions promptly. He was wonderful, the place was paradise."

  • Fantastic owner, even better location, wonderful condo - our family of 4 LOVED it

"All the detailed reviews helped me choose this condo, so I wanted to pay it forward. My family and I (including 2 kids, 14 and 3) had a sublime spring break vacation in Puerto Rico, and having this condo as our home base was wonderful. As others have said, Ita is an incredibly kind, caring, and responsive owner. Her niece, Linda, is also a delight to communicate with - they answered all my questions before arrival promptly and were happy to accommodate our late-arriving flight. Ita even came out to the corner as we made our way from the airport to guide us into the secure underground parking garage. This was after 11 p.m. on a Thursday night. She could not have been more delightful. It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the condo to Condado beach. This was a boon as we needed to return "home" for bathroom breaks for the 3-yr-old but it didn't mean having to cut our time at the beach short - we just turned around and went right back. The waves are strong, so it's not a swimming beach (lots of experienced body surfers, though) but my kids loved bracing themselves against the waves and building sand castles. The condo itself is light, airy, spacious, beautifully (and functionally) decorated, and it is incredibly well-stocked. We found everything we needed - tons of beach towels, laundry detergent, a soft-sided cooler that was perfect for bringing our frozen water bottles to the beach or the rainforest. The well-appointed kitchen had all the appliances and pots/pans I needed to make a couple of dinners as well as all of our breakfasts. Ita supplied bottled water as well as a Brita water pitcher, and even stocked 2 kinds of milk for the kids before we arrived. We also appreciated the bottle of wine and the chocolates she provided, and we availed ourselves of the roll of quarters to catch the bus to/from Old San Juan. We used our car for excursions farther afield: day trips to Fajardo with its calm beaches and El Yunque. We all slept well - the beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms' air-conditioning works VERY well (we often turned it off and just opened the windows to catch the breeze). The blackout shades do a good job of minimizing the morning light. There are flat screen TVs in 3 rooms but we never turned them on - too much to do, day and night! The location right along Ashford Ave. meant that we could walk to drinks/dinner/ice cream. Very low-stress. We would recommend this property wholeheartedly and hope to return!"

  • Spectacular!!

"We were looking for a place to unwind and disconnect from the daily routine. The house was the perfect place. Rey the caretaker went out of his way to make sure that we had a great time during our stay. Great view and weather. The house is spacious and beautiful. We will definitely return!"

  • Our own private escape

"We had a great time at this vacation rental. It had everything we needed. Because we were there just a short time (5 days) we didn't have the opportunity to cook much of our own food, but it seemed as though the kitchen was stocked to do so. There was air conditioning in the bedroom, but we didn’t need it. There were windows on all sides of the house for a nice cross-breeze. We didn’t make use of the bunk beds in the second bedroom, but there was more than enough space to store our clothing. The outdoor shower was a nice plus after walking on the beach. The next door neighbours were very friendly, although we didn’t see much of them. The street was very quiet, and we could usually only hear birds. At times we could hear planes taking off, but it really didn’t bother us. The beach house felt like our own private escape. Walking along the beach during the day and at sunset was great. You can walk a long way in either direction. We took advantage of the location to have a sunset dinner at Eclipse, and to go horseback riding. For other places, we needed a car. When you stay here, go to Ola Lola's. Not only was the food great, but the owner gave us recommendations of his favorite things to do in and around Isabela. He suggested that the waves were too high that week to swim within walking distance of the beach house, and sent us to Crashboat Beach. We aren’t surfers, but it seemed like the area around the beach house would be great for surfing. The house has maps, guidebooks, and printouts of places that surfers might like to visit. It made a great base for trips to the surrounding area (including Gozalandia falls), and was an easy drive from the San Juan airport. The owner was extremely helpful and responded quickly to emails. We can’t wait to return!"
