"My husband and I, our two adult children, and one girlfriend spent a lovely four days at the Pate's super-quaint and spacious lakeside home. Well-situated on the lake side of the road, it offers sunset views and much privacy. We used the firepit one night for making s'mores -- (if you do this you must bring your own wood.) We rested in the hammocks; swam by the dock, found Jupiter in the telescope, ate all our meals on the large, wooden dining table, loved the cuckoo clock, played games, enjoyed the beautiful view from the large windows, and photographed the many birds But best of all, we caught fish, both off the dock and from the boat. There are essentially three bedrooms, but there are also a couple daybeds in the living room, which is huge. The home was clean on the inside and parking was ample. It is situated on a narrow, dead-end road with little traffic and is very quiet! It's also well above lake level with at least 55+ steps down to the lake (didn't bother any of us, but for some it might.)
I have to subtract a star, though, because we were there when it was in the 90's and the home has central air in only half of it. The living room has a window air conditioner, which just wasn't enough -- it was hot in there during the heat of the day. Also, there is no regular oven. The home is older and is in need of minor repairs, especially to the deck. We would have loved to have had some shade over the dock and a little table or something to clean fish on. But, all in all, we enjoyed the house and yard and hope to be back!"
