Family Vacation for the Holidays
"We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays in KCB. The home has everything you could possibly need for a great time. You don't even have to bring beach towels. We were there with our son and granddaughter to celebrate with other family members staying in the area. The house was large enough so that everyone had their own space. Furniture and beds were comfortable and in good condition. My son complained about the sun coming into the middle bedroom very early in the morning even with the blinds closed. Very relaxing sitting on the canal watching the manatees, kayakers, paddleboards etc. Location is convenient to restaurants, beaches and stores. A little annoying that the speed limit is 25 MPH in KCB. The bicyclists and joggers were going faster than the cars! We took the bus w/o any problems to Key West for New Years Eve which was an experience to say the least. Lots of fun but exhausting! We never did get to use the pool at the Cabana Club , but did walk down to Inch beach. We didn't realize we had to bring our own chairs however, so I would suggest driving even though it wasn't too far. We rented a kayak for 24 hours which was delivered right to the house. All in all we had a great time. I would recommend this house for your next vacation...especially when it's freezing up north."

"Peter and Blanche were absolutely awesome to work with. My wife and I had been fortunate enough to get a few days off for our anniversary at the last minute. Peter and Blanche worked with us to accommodate the short notice in one of their beautiful places. A friend of mine was already in Marathon and was returning a couple of days before our arrival. We usually work a deal where he goes one week and we come down when he leaves and he lets us use his boat. Peter gladly allowed the boat to be dropped off at his place and stored until our arrival two days later.
We stayed at 481 3rd St which is very close to the end of the canal. The location made it a short trip to either the reef or the bay side via Vaca Cut. The home was extremely clean, open, and comfortable. There is a washer and dryer in the home which was very convenient. There are more dishes, utensils, and pots / pans than any other home I have stayed at in the area. The kitchen area is very open with considerable counter space for food preparation.
There are freezers at the bottom of the stairs along with a gas grills to cook up your catch. If you are worried about not catching anything don't....Peter is extremely knowledgeable with the waters and can give you suggestions on where to go, tackle to use, current fishing information. The duplex has two dock areas, one of which is a floating dock which we used. The floating dock allowed for our boat to always be at the same level and made it easy to load and unload. The ice machine was very nice to have and saved having to purchase several bags per day.
Peter and Blanche live in the next building so if there is ever an issue, it will be addressed in no time. The entire time we were there, Peter was constantly working on keeping the location clean and functioning as it should. The man has more energy than should be allowed. If there is anything we needed or even brought up in casual conversation, Peter had a way to help us out and save us time and money.
Peter and Blanche are retired school teachers and truly epitomize the concept of customer care. It was considerably nice to deal with the owners of a property instead of having to deal with a manger of a property as I have dealt with in the past. Both sides of the duplex are owned by Peter and Blanche as well as another home on 4th St. I would highly recommend staying at this home for individuals that like the feel of dealing with honest and friendly folks."

"We always rent from this manager, Gregg. This is the guy to rent from. My family recommends him to everyone and never are they disappointed. This home is great with plenty of dockage space and a big kitchen. Garden tub in one bathroom and shower in the second. Our friends rented the space under us and we all had a great time."

"Stay here! The City of Key Colony Beach is the perfect location in the middle of the keys. Away from the crazy of Key Largo and Islamadora. We flew into Fort Lauderdale, rented a car and drove down, making stops at National Parks along the way. We stocked up on groceries for the week at Walmart in Florida City, but replenished our fresh fruits and veggies locally at the Winn Dixie. In a pinch we even found the closest Walgreens also had exactly what we needed. We were able to take easy morning trips either north or south and then enjoy Inch Beach all afternoon. We loved using Inch Beach because it was clean, quiet, and we brought our own cooler of snacks and beverages. While we could've walked the short distance to Inch Beach we found easier to drive with the cooler, beach toys, and teen in tow. NBB is exactly as pictured. Cute, clean, and smells inviting (I know, sounds strange but good smell is important). We found absolutely everything we needed including kabob skewers! Neighborhood is safe and neighbors are very nice. We enjoyed coffee each morning on the patio overlooking the canal. Saw a manatee - so cool! Went for a walk, easily accessible to everything. We were able to make a day trip to the Dry Tortugas, morning trips to: Key West, Bahia Honda State Park, Sombrero Beach, John Pennekamp State Park, and Theater of the Seas. We would stay here again!"
